Thank you for sharing this. I have noticed that you are doing ASYE. I graduated last year and recently got a job for qualified children's social worker in the UK. However, I really wanted ASYE to get training while I have protected caseload and get used to the UK child protection system without much pressure. My experience is not that much and I'm not very confident I'll do justice to the job when I start. Do you think I should go the qualified position or keep looking for ASYE.

As newly qualified, I have protected caseload of 16. But sometimes it can rise to like 18. It depends on the local authority sha. Some ate strict with caseloads of newly qualified social workers while others don't care sadly...

I am a Dependant!
My MA left for the UK since September 2022 and I'm still yet to join her because I supported in her travels and spent so much and so couldn't go with her. Now her program is ending by October 2023 of which she is currently looking for sponsorship to aid extend her stay there. Now I'm ready to join her latest this August, having all these in mind and with the new UK rules/law, is there any chance I'll be denied VISA wen I go to apply??

Please I would love to ask if you get extra allowances for driving to your different visits and are you paid overtime for days you work beyond 5pm or its all part of the job and you only get your salary.

Yes, I claim mileage. But you don't get extra pay for extra hours worked. Some local authorities like where I used to work, your manager can encourage you to take your time back, others don't. But there's no extra pay
