It's refreshing to see my home city through someone elses eyes.
The cathedral and cathedral close is beautiful.
The Cathedral footage was so beautiful. Well said James, sticking up for our culture.
I'm Norwich born and bred. In my view it's a nice place to visit. The Cathedral is magnificent.
Nowhere better than the UK with blue sky's. Love the "support your local caffeine dealer sign!" Who knew Norwich was so beautiful.
There are actually 2 cathedrals in Norwich...both beautiful. You must come back again as there's soooo much more to see. Very proud of my home city and well chuffed you paid us a visit! Love your channel. Wonderful couple and so relatable ❤
love yours and Helen's relationship, the Cathedral was stunning, love the fact that you are both cool and non judgemental x
Norwich looks like a lovely and quaint city, yet vibrant enough, with loads of history!
Beautiful city. Norfolk generally is a beautiful county. Helpful people, even the beer monsters were friendly.
Lovely couple, Helen is so full of life x
I used to go to Norwich annually with my late father and his morris dancing side for a mass meet up morris and folk weekend. Its a beautiful place. Colmans mustard museum is there, i remember visiting. Added to my list of places to revisit thanks James and Helen.
Stunning footage of the Cathedral! Spell binding ✨
Norwich is a wonderful city in the East of England with so much history. I used to live near Norwich and me and my parents loved going to Norwich a lot before moving down to Essex in 2001. I still go to Norwich now and then.
So close to 50,000 subscribers - you'll probably reach it by the end of the week - very well deserved, congratulations! 😀
Thank you :-)
Great Vlog loved it 👍
Not if they go into the direction of 10 minutes advertising crap they wont
Errrrrr well it pays the bills and that's why we are doing it for. You can get off at the next stop if you want. There are loads more channels you can watch 😊
I hope you get loads of sponsorship. You deserve it guys .keep up with your great vlogs I love them 💕
Hi lovely people , your vlogs get better and better and I love how you respect everyone else ❤️ xx
A fine city indeed, Norwich is so beautiful, it has to be one of my favourite places in the UK, had some great times there ❤️👍 thanks for sharing as always
Love the Hornpipe at the beginning. Fair play to those musicians.
Brilliant as ever. Iv been to Norwich & the castle. Remember the Primark 😃 & some of it, I don’t remember it being as beautiful ❤️
Love to you both. Lucy xx
Helen looks very elegant in this film.x
Absolutely fabulous . Joannah Lumley 30:47 😂😂
I've lived in Norwich for almost 10 years. As far as cities go, it pretty much has everything.
Me too, 10 years this August and no regrets.
I’ve lived here in Norwich city centre for 25 years I love it
Same, moved here in 2015 after living all over the UK for more than 30 years. I wasn't sure to start with but this place feels more like home than anywhere I've lived!
Except scenery, nightlife, decent shopping, good access to the rest of the country, good public transport, affordable housing and job prospects.
@@kirishima638 Not for you then
Who knew Norwich is so nice, you never hear about it
Exactly, hopefully it'll stay that way, keep it all to ourselves!!
That pub where you met that guy with guitar, if you had carried on walking on riverside you would of got to Adam and eve pub, lovely place norwich
like Alan Partridge said: "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" 🙂
Simon, with the guitar, lives two houses away from me and he’s definitely a character.
Nice to see Joanna Lumley helping out with directions!
I used to go to the Mischief and the Ribs of Beef about 25 years ago
You probably didn't notice it before entering the cathedral but immediately to your right had side was a monument of Lord Nelson. When you stood outside the refractory to your left is a monument of the Duke of Wellington.
Apparently Norwich once had a pub for every day of the year and a church for every week
That was when a pint of bitter was 1/11d, near enough a couple of bob.
Norwich has a beautiful railway station , have you noticed all old walls and buildings are made of pebbles, did you see the old mustard shop , the market is brill , there is a big shopping complex were all street food is , there was once as many pubs as churches , there was a lot , x
So glad you have dropped the positivity love a grumpy Barnsley lad 🤣🤣
Great film, I live just over the road from the river near train station. The sights are gorgeous and change with weather, seasons and at night. I see same area so often but it comes across so much different abd I highly recommend coming back a different time of year as it will be as refreshing and different as first time you see it. You walked past tge plague outs a couple of times, lots of history in Norwich
Ahh, Norwich - The City of Ale. I liked it so much I relocated down there from t'North. Cracking video, glad you enjoyed your visit.
as they say, used to have a pub for every day of the week
@@ramadamming8498 *a pub for every day of the YEAR. Whilst that clearly isn't true any more, I look at the statistics and wonder what it was they were classifying as a 'pub' back when that figure was published. Nevertheless, Norwich is on par with Sheffield as the greatest ale city in the UK and personally I think it just has the edge. That said, you can't go wrong with a real ale pub crawl in either Sheffield or Norwich, they're both absolutely superb.
@@UnixAnt thass roight bor thass what I meant. Im from South Naarfak. 10 mile south of Nodge.
@@UnixAnt indeed lots of if ale pub stuff. Chalk Hil Brewery an older 'new one' and The Fat Cat has won that Camra award about a zillion times!

If i rang my wallet it'd say"i've still got nowt for ya try again next week"😂😂
😂😂
I recently stumbled upon your channel and love it. Helen and yourself are so natural and honest, it feels more like sharing stories with friends. A lovely surprise to see you in my home city too, glad you enjoyed it and the weather was kind for your visit. Hope you will be back, there are so many more pubs (and chippies) to discover. The Reindeer and Fat Cat are two fine pubs a few minutes walk away from our other cathedral (yes, we have two of them). I'm happy to have found your channel and subscribed. Keep up the great work and continue being yourselves, I've enjoyed every video I've watched and found them informative and interesting. I really enjoy it when you have the random encounters with local characters or let the vibe of the day direct your plans (such as when you ended up at the Dream Wife gig in Newcastle). Plus your relaxed and open ways and gentle humour are so refreshing. You are people after my own heart.
Another class vlog from somewhere I've never been to but want to go to now! ❤
Thanks mate, we had a lovely time
You beat me to it, I was about to comment the exact same thing.

Hey guys,
You were right near the Adam and eve when you were at the first pub where the drunk guy was if you went behind the pub you would of found Cow tower then follow the river to tha Adam and Eve
There’s so much you missed but I’m so pleased you both came to my beautiful city, you were right near my house when you were at elm hill my house Is 400 years old
What did you think of the city ?
The pub you would of loved was the plough beer garden on st Benedict’s street you were very close to it at one point
If you ever come back I’d love to show you the bits you missed there’s a loop where you get the cathedral, cow tower ,Adam and Eve elm hill magdalen st ( charity shops for Helen)then through to the play house up to st Benedict’s and the plough beer garden there’s also lots of eateries on st Benedict’s
🎸 Give a little bit of heart and soul 🎤🎺🎹❤ Helen's definitely got that Carrol Decker look going on.❤❤ best song ever by the way.
I used to hate people saying that but I'm now channeling Carole Decker 🤩💯 xx

James and Helen , nice vlog as always. Cheers for the heads up about Norwich, definitely worth a visit . James , I personally agree with you about holding British Values and Culture, more than ever these days .
Great video. The castle was open, just looks closed due to the ongoing work.... As for churches & pubs. We had a church for every week and a pub for everyday...
Can’t go wrong with a Wetherspoons 🤣🤣🤣
Can't believe Helen never visited a charity shop.
Brilliant vlog as per usual. Could see that the two of you were enjoying things more and more as the alcohol flowed - and there's nowt wrong with that. Good job Helen's there to add a bit of glam!
Another brilliant vlog. Keep them coming!!
Thanks, you have made a city off our radar really interesting & deffo worth a visit, as usual, thats the main reason I love your vlogs. Great for upcoming summer trip lists! I do hope the Norwich Planning Officer was a client for his finale, the Probation Service. C'mon matey 50k subs!!!!
In a word...... Brilliant.

The cafe where you didn’t eat is where I go for coffee with my dog 😂 There are so many lovely cafes in Norwich by the way.

Channel is a Godsend 🔥💯👌🫡
Thank you
Tallest spire is Salisbury - my favourite place 😊
This was a great video. Loved looking round the beautiful, houses with you 😊 Being from Salisbury, I too am a Cultural Christian, thank you for coining the perfect phrase.
Until the 80s Salisbury had the largest number of pubs per capita in UK, another good reason to visit 😀
We really need to head to Salisbury, would be lovely to meet up for a drink :-)
@@bythecurb I live in Oxfordshire now and I think you two would need more than one day to see the architecture of Oxford.
I would definitely like to have a drink with you and Helen, and now I have my bus pass I could get there for free which is a bonus! 😀
Great vlog...I went to Norwich for the first time last year, it is a fabulous city and just as a matter of interest, I'm not religious, I consider myself a humanist...look it up James - it sounds like that's what you are too!
I am too.
Eric B & Rakim...Legends! 😁
In the Forum, the loos are in the left hand corner by the library.
Love Norwich spent many summers staying with my Aunt there 😀
Used to be a lovely market there x
What a beautiful place. Must visit! 😊👍
A great trip! It's like we are on a day out with you. I never knew Norwich was so interesting. Keep up the good work James, we love watching it here in Brazil! Prof. Geoffrey.
Well James I bloomin loved Norwich, it's beautiful.. one of my favourite places you've been to. Witherspoon do a decent cheap breakfast too..I will have to try the one in Bridlington. Where will you end up next with the lovely Helen... Can't wait...
Debbie Brid
Thank you Debbie, sneak preview, we're going to Manchester on Sunday then for a hike somewhere interesting on Monday (weather permitting) Then Im in Brid from Wednesday to Sunday so will look out for you in Boyes! :-)
The Red lion where you had your first beer is the local for my nephew, and as stated above the Adam and Eve is a little further along the road, just a couple of the pubs I pop into when visiting from Yorkshire.🍻
Hello both, ahh really enjoyed this vlog, brought back so many wonderful memories of when we lived there,Norwich is so beautiful, do hope you enjoyed your time there ,you guys are just Brill 😅😊❤
Keep going duck you're doing brilliant from Chris from Church Lawton🎉 You are doing good 👍🏻
I would love to see the edits and the bloopers i bet theres some funny ones from you both great video as always happy travels
We'll make a Christmas special 😂
What a lovely city, I'm almost sorry we knocked them out of the play offs ( Leeds Leeds Leeds ). No sign of Alan Partridge, sauntering around those historic streets. Great video from you both. By eck your getting some views, well deserved.
Another lovely vlog James and Helen. Norwich looks a very nice place to visit. We used to live next door to someone who had a loud car, she used to start it at 5am but then sat every time she started it for 2 minutes before she drove off. Used to wake the whole street, even at 5am on Christmas Day and New Years Day, SO inconsiderate.
Love the guy at 14:38 wearing a Motorhead T-Shirt...Rip Lemmy, Phil and Fast Eddie!
And wurzel
Indeed rip Wurzel
Top content as always...love Eric b and Rakim... much love to you both
Thank you :-)
You should try Flatford for Rowing. Constable Country. Suffolk. ❤ You guys
Good lad , resisted feeding any pigeons 😂...looked a lovely day both ...just getting my hearing back after Simes..😂..
Hi guys James your not moaning,,I totally agree with you regarding rubbish buildings that are ugly and noisy cars , madness,,, what a beautiful place,, nice to see Helen too, sending love from Julie and John in the potteries ❤
Thank you guys :-)
@@bythecurb Hi James I am a Christian and honestly I just have to tell you JESUS he does love you and all of us,👍🏻❤️🙋🏻😘 but he gave us all free will to choose , he's always there,, you just ask him into your heart and yoiur life, your special to him as we all are,ive sent this cuz i care,, about you both, lots of love James, and Helen 💕 from Julie and John in the potteries 💕
Very late to the comments James and Helen, but I felt I had to after watching that whilst eating my breakfast...
A REALLY enjoyable video!
We lost our son in that Norwich Market...about 35 years ago!
It was AWFUL!
He was only about 4 and just seem to wander off...God knows how, because we have always been really attentive parents to our 3 kids...but he DID.
Every parents worst NIGHTMARE! 😖
So...we just ran around and around those market aisles screaming his name..."DAN! DAN! DAN!!!".
I like to think its what inspired Alan Partridge...many years later! 😂
We found him eventually.
He's 40 in a couple of months time.
Norwich is lovely though isn't it?
It was my first "other City" visit, as a 26 year-old after growing up in London, and being very London-centric.
We DO tend to think the world revolves around us...I know.
But that is SO wrong.
Travel really DOES broaden the horizons.
Now I know what you and Helen like in a place to visit, I'm going to put a little list here of similar places I've visited myself, some many times, that you may consider if you ever get "DAHHN SAAAF" again...
Rye, Winchester, Sandwich, Rochester, Canterbury, Chichester, Broadstairs, Faversham, Portsmouth, Littlehampton, Hastings, Whitstable, Folkestone, Hythe, and Dover. 😊
That must have been horrendous, it gave me goosebumps just reading it as its my worse nightmare too.
I'm a massive fan of Alan Partridge and I thought that I would drop some lines in but then I totally forgot, we even saw a sign for an owl sanctuary!! Cant believe I missed that opportunity.
Thank you for the suggestions, I will add them to my list. It makes you realise what a beautiful country we have.
@bythecurb Me too! (Partridge 😂)...yeh...I was waiting for a reference to a cracking owl sanctuary...or a big plate! 🤣
fantastic james and helen its nice in norwich
Thank you, we really liked it :-)
*Norwich a Fine City, or if you park incorrectly, a city of fines, I used to run a pub on the market Square in the mid 90's* #PillPoppersParadise 😜
Another fantastic n funny vid. I've never had the urge to visit Norwich before but I do now 😂
Lovely video Norwich looks a nice place .Lots of interesting buildings and you both make the best comments. Love seeing how good you guys are together 😊. See you in the next video 😊😊
Lovely shots in the cathedral.
