If you really do work you don't worry about job stability and you don't have to update your skills yearly, you have to update on advancement of your current skill and not on completely new technology and in govt job you have transfers and there is no chance to settle in one place and if you don't get home state you have to stay your entire life in another state and coming to earnings what you earn in govt job in your life time, a software employee would be earned when he reaches 40.
