I did found this in Quora: "There are a few techniques that actors use to fake kisses in movies. One common technique is for the actors to turn their heads and position their faces in a way that makes it look like they are kissing, but they are actually not touching lips. Another technique is to use a "cheek-to-cheek" method where the actors position their faces close to each other without actually making contact. Sometimes, a prop such as a piece of cloth or a hand can be used to create the illusion of a kiss. It ultimately depends on the director's vision for the scene and the actors' preferences." I wonder aren`t these techniques used sometimes in theater too? When you are a teenager and you don´t feel comfortable with the idea of kissing for real, a good idea would be to fake it. But I don`t know how these fake kisses look actually on theater, even if I`ve seen some old Hollywood kisses that really seem staged.
Can I just say that this series is so helpful? I'm playing Johnny in my college's production of American Idiot, and this series has definitely helped calm some of my nerves about the more intimate scenes. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad it’s helped you. Is your college good with safe intimacy practices? Here in Aus it’s not embraced by many people but I’m trying to change things!
I’m glad you’re enjoying it! It’s unfortunately a controversial topic because people don’t like to hear there’s a better way to do things. I used some of the basic techniques when I directed Addams Family but I’ve learnt so much more this year!
