Agree. One of the reasons I also enjoy The Consouls - they mostly record live as a band so it's all one take and raw live energy (the instrumental solos are incredible!).
I remember when the original came out, my dad played it all the time. Now, when it comes on in the car, I inevitably speed. And when I'm by myself in the car, I hit that high note haha

That girl is Tal Wilkenfeld, among many very important artists, she's mostly known for playing the bass for Jeff Beck for a few years and toured with him up until his passing.

Driven by a strong, commanding spirit on vocals. Arrangement is faithful, yet unique with tasteful additions.
Superb interaction between the rhythm section and keys/guitar.
So much harmony and musical connection with everybody.
Brooke just carried the song to a different level. Definitely reminiscent of Anne Wilson from Heart

the level of control on that vocal is absolutely crazy... the energy... very rarely does a vocal make me feel alive, it's mostly instrumentals that reach that level but here it's off the charts!
