Yeah!! Byleth!! I main Byleth, always happy to see anyone that's good at the game picking them up and doing those nice plays! That thing you said about their 2 hit combos being enough is extremely truth, they're all kill confirms deep inside, with varying ranges and frame data and when they don't kill, they put the opponent in a position where they're set up to lose if you don't mess it up. There's also a fact that I haven't seen anyone talking about is how good this character is off stage, they feel like if Bowser, DK or Ike had good recoveries, all of these characters need only one hit off stage and you're dead, but they're recoveries hold them back. In comes Byleth, that not only can go super deep and can mix up the recovery, she has better frame data and just as much kill power. I genuinely think Byleth is the best (or tied for the best) offstage character in the game, and players like you who are extremely aggressive offstage can take the most out of it. People say Byleth's disadvantage is bad but it's not, all you have to do is drift offstage and try to grab the ledge instead of landing, if you can bait your opponent to go after you offstage, it's super easy to reverse your disadvantage.

I get where you’re coming from with the offstage thing, but that’s only in matchups where you can’t counterplay Byleth offstage. I main Sheik and there is no way Byleth is tied with Sheik offstage, I win a lot lf interactions offstage v Byleth, and I personally think Sheik is a contender for top 5 edgeguarding.
Facts. You so much as knock someone offstage with a liner recovery, there’s nothing they can do.
I really like the idea you put into this video compare to the mewtwo. I learn the process of picking up a character and become good with it. Now I have a foundation to go with. Thank you for the content and the guide to success.

I am really enjoying these challenges of choosing a character you are not as familiar with and training for a tournament. The analysis is really interesting! It is cool to see your thought process when adapting with that new character.
Honestly, I'd love to see love to see another one with a character on the lower tier side of things like Pirahna Plant.
I love these videos!! The longer format gives time for us to see the progression up to your finish and that's really awesome. It also gives us a pattern to follow when we're learning new characters.

seeing your ridley would be awesome and he seems like another good character for a 3 day challenge like byleth, relies on fundamentals and spacing but has some sauce and cheese as well

While a lot of peolpe say it's one of the easier characters to pick up, I think it's one of the hardest to do well with against high level oponents
I think it would be interesting to see how you make use of his combo and edguarding tools as well as the process of learning him

You're so comfortable offstage with Link that I would love to see you dance around offstage with Ridley. I think you could minimize his weaknesses and maximize his strengths for both solid gameplay and also hilarious interactions.
I think that Lucas was definitely practicing the new tech, he was the prime example to display all its potential plus he escaped that grab at the end barely to get the forward air on you. You're normally the one smooving on people even with slow Link, so I'm guessing it had to be that.

up prioritises on you instead of your opponent so when your of ledge you have a 1 sec window until it will mostly up on ledge instead of your opponent

Byleth is a fun character, I co main byleth while my day 1 main has been inkling. I play byleth in matchups that is bad for inkling or matchups I don’t like with inkling. I also secondary terry because Iv always loved his character and got hyped on his release. Yes byleth can be cheesy and stupid but you need to know what your doing otherwise this character will succumb to its weaknesses.

As somebody who’s just trying to get byleth in elite smash I really enjoyed this video. Byleth’s theme is my favorite in the game but I main Sephiroth. Sephiroth should be next !
