That's why I like this channel so much. I'm not into cars, but I can fix a chainsaw blindfolded with both hands tied behind my back. We were all loggers in my family so I grew up in the woods and you see anyone stuck stranded or walking away from a vehicle out in the boonies, you stop and help. The Hertz Corporation rented Shelbys in '65 and '66. This is a throwback. There are stories of racers blowing up a motor in their car and grabbing a rental Mustang, pulling the engine racing putting it back and returning the rental to Hertz. Before there was fuel injection we had a motorhome that would vapor lock in hot weather. After close inspection a fuel line ran along the frame rail. Across from it was the manifold flange about an inch from it. The easy fix was wrap the fuel line with aluminum foil shiny side out. Never had a problem again. Some RUclips wrecker channels use rim slings to pull vehicles out. Have you ever experimented with those? I remember the problem with the carb engine cars in temps like that where fuel evaporation in the carb meant not enough juice into the engine and stopping - used to get air bubbles in the fuel lines too.
Matt, just a tip for situations like this, have someone design some car rollers for ya for off road use, so you can put them under the rear tires (It will give you the height to get off that rock under the exhaust) and then you can turn just the rear of the car without destroying the exhaust.

I am now wondering why the Morrvair and Banana don’t have 4 recovery eyes welded to their axles (one on each side, front and back). It would dramatically increase the number of rigging options and make low towing points very easy to connect…

matt maybe weld some pipes onto rear that would allow you to put on and remove eyehooks as needed . that way you could lower your rope even lower than you can just by going around your rear with rope. couple of nuts and they would be able to be raised and lowered and removed when not in use.
I worked on a 66 GT350H (hertz) before and apparently the car was built strictly for hertz to rent it out to customers. The owner had all the original paper work. Black car with gold stripes, and factory pro charger matching the blue theme of the engine. Really cool car and expensive.

Brett didn't tease Rudy about the tow! I like that~! Two fine young men! Thanks for the video!
My father was the king for taking rentals on dirt roads that weren't on maps. He never got stuck tho, but it always pissed me off
My heart is bleeding 😭 I've always wanted to drive one of these (ON roads!), but they are well above my budget. Well, there is still hoping! Cheers!
Every minute that mustang spends stuck in the sand, is another minute it wont slide uncontrollably into bystanders at a car show😂
You called it a shipping hook! Good to see you learn and not be a stubborn old man.
Poor Rudy. I know He was looking forward to the event in Moab.
That truck looks awesome. He probably still made it, just a little later.
He'll still make it. If you watch his video, he was going up to Wyoming for a family reunion (his girlfriend's family) first.
6:46 some of the cleanest editing on MORR. Looked like Matt handed the camera-lady the GoPro and teleported to the truck.
Some people don't need to be driving. Really? Taking a Mustang into the sand? Matt said it right just when you think you've seen it all you haven't! Jayme and Matt got em out and Jake and Rhett picked up the Rad Charger for Rudy and got him back to the shop. Good video!
Good work all around!👍
Oooooo that's black and gold, that must be a Herz Rental car 😢
And it was😂
Well hopefully they don't see this video bud
I remember the problem with the carb engine cars in temps like that where fuel evaporation in the carb meant not enough juice into the engine and stopping - used to get air bubbles in the fuel lines too.
Matt, just a tip for situations like this, have someone design some car rollers for ya for off road use, so you can put them under the rear tires (It will give you the height to get off that rock under the exhaust) and then you can turn just the rear of the car without destroying the exhaust.
Inflateable Bag shaped like a sausage!! "Now your Cooking"
7:20 that was sweet. and she did a good job with the camera.
7:24 what an AWESOME and appreciative group of people on this recovery!!!! As a Utahn too I’d love to run into Thai group! What an great party of people! Can I come hang out at your next outting? Bring my daughters, I’d love to chill with such a a cool and nice group down in one of the awesome areas of utah. 🙂 happy birthday to the birthday girl as welll!
Thaank you I’m the birthday girl we always love and support each other they made my birthday!
Thank youu!!!
I own a fleet of rental cars and this pisses me off so much. People are so stupid.
I am now wondering why the Morrvair and Banana don’t have 4 recovery eyes welded to their axles (one on each side, front and back). It would dramatically increase the number of rigging options and make low towing points very easy to connect…
Why not just use a drop receiver hitch.
@@delbutler885They r too low and get hung up.
@@duramaxdad But they can be taken on and off.
@@duramaxdad I respectfully say BS. The receiver can be set the same height as the axle and on a static pull it's the same height.
@@delbutler885 True. Consider the following. Approach and
Departure angles matter. It’s the longest lowest point and susceptible to hitting the ground. Right?
Could u remove it? Sure.
Could u weld a dinglehopper to the axle? Yes.
Why get emotional and curse brother? It’s a family channel.
Matt & Jamie to the rescue 🛟 💛💛 Thxs for sharing 💛 Rudy’s “Rad Charger”Rocks inside & out 👍
Very cool to squeeze that last clip in. Bet it made that boys day!
Was that a Hertz rental?!??!??!?! Sure their corporate HQ would LOVE to see that!!!
It 100% is, there's a emblem on the back if you look closely.
Rent-a-racer program. I could tell a soon as I saw the color combo.
Edit to add: Hertz sucks as a company so this makes me lol. They've been getting innocent people arrested left and right because they can't seem to manage their recovered thefts, etc. Tons of news articles on it.
No harm no foul
It's just stuck in dirt... He turned around, or parked somewhere to go for a hike and got stuck. No abuse whatsoever.
matt maybe weld some pipes onto rear that would allow you to put on and remove eyehooks as needed . that way you could lower your rope even lower than you can just by going around your rear with rope. couple of nuts and they would be able to be raised and lowered and removed when not in use.
Lizzy needs to come back and organize that cargo area.
I like watching you help pull people out. I also like your workshop.
Typically, Mustangs have no weight in the trunk. Makes it bad for traction.
And no ground clearance , and no traction.
Typically, Mustangs are meant for street use. Not offroad.

I worked on a 66 GT350H (hertz) before and apparently the car was built strictly for hertz to rent it out to customers. The owner had all the original paper work. Black car with gold stripes, and factory pro charger matching the blue theme of the engine. Really cool car and expensive.
No car in 1966 had a "factory pro charger" or any Pro Charger for that matter. The company who first made those wasn't even a company until 1994.
At first I though "whistlin diesel" got stuck. But then I remembered if it were Cody that mustang wouldn't be in one piece any more 😂
Matt Thank you for another great video it's great that you and Jamiey help out so many people like your employees your community and probably much more we don't even know about you inspire me to be a better man
When I was in high school I helped rescue some dude's firebird from a sand pit in the a popular desert hot spot all the kids would go to.
Why would someone take a two door sports car out where 4x4s get stuck, you ask? Well, some people are just ... special.
You need a long thin strong strap with a T hook because most factory cars with no tow hooks have a slot in the frame behind the front tires I myself have used a soft shackle with a T hook I made up and I use a soft shackle for motor cycle
I’m anxiously awaiting my Lime Green Lizzy Hat! If you all haven't ordered yours yet, I would encourage you to do so soon before they're all gone. I’ll be thinking about her every time I put it on!!!

I can see a MORR light in the future to match the one installed on the Shelby.
I know it's only been one day since lizzy left I already miss her on the channel. I can't wait to see her come back from time to time
What do you mean she left? What happened? She was the best. 😢
She probably isn’t coming back bro
@@tomwilliams8675Lizzie is moving on - going to be ranching with her husband's family full time. Sunday's episode was devoted to her going away party...
Hello from Portugal! Curiosity on my part regarding your videos where you make the camera man run after the cars, if you use a drone you will have a better image and an overview of where you are working, it is cheap and easy to use.
A hug from the country where it is a crime to make any changes to the structure of the vehicle :( 😭
These videos don't feel the same without Lizzy being apart of the crew.
But don't like all cars nowadays have to have a little tow hook in the trunk and a little plate in the bumper to screw it into? At least in Europe I think
I barely know a thing or two about cars in general so off-road work is like quantum physics to me but the way Matt explains everything makes me feel like I can go out and work for him 😂
Hey Matt, just to add what you were saying about vehicles not having a front towing, I believe that all EU vehicles have a front towing eye of some sort by regulation but it seems that US regulations do not require a front towing device on vehicles
Janelle did a super job polishing the roll cage and roof rack tubing!
Its good to have your family in the towing business.
