QOTD: Have you ever made a portfolio before? 📖

I actually have not, since I'm currently 16 and was into drawing, art and architecture... Last year I was obsessed with architecture, art and becoming an architect myself. You're one of the people that has inspired me and made me binge watch your architecture videos. Things happened and I fell off from life, art and architecture. Then you posted this video, I suddenly remembered you! I haven't done anything that inspired and motivated me that connected to drawing and architecture for the past months. Now, I feel motivated again just by the thought of you posting another video, made me want to learn about architecture again and get back to drawing... Thank you THANK YOU SOO MUCHH NATALIEE!!

@melanmalvindicta Oh my goodness this comment made me so happy to read and simultaneously brought a tiny tear to my eye(': I'm so honored I have been able to inspire you at any point in your life. I'm sorry I've been so MIA. But hopefully in the coming months you can be inspired enough to try to make your own portfolio!!!! I would love to see it if you do.
Keep creating wonderful things in art, life, and architecture. Hopefully this summer brings you the best opportunities to express yourself. Let me know if I can help you further in any way!! Best of luck(:

@@UnravelingArchitecture No worries for being MIA, life happens, and I'm just glad to see you back! I'm sure that I'll be inspired enough again to create a portfolio for my soon art and architecture drawings, and hopefully I'll be able to share them with you and the world! Have a great dayyyy!

Thank you for providing these examples! As someone who has never made a portfolio and is trying to create one for the first time to apply to a M.Arch program, it has been very helpful as my undergraduate degree was not in Architecture. Here’s hoping I can still get in somewhere with that being the case!

Going into my 3rd year of BArch, love seeing these. Gonna have to use a lot of these design and text layouts. Still learning digital side of things, love love love what I'm learning

Awesome review. I like the first best. The indents gotta go. Don’t like all the borders on the second one. If the capitalization inconsistencies aren’t intentional (can’t see why they would be), they’re gross errors.

LOVED BOTH OF THEM! GREAT WORK DAVID!!! (From another David 😂) I think the attention to detail expressed in the second portfolio empowered David to present his works more confidently. And I think like you said, the first page in the first portfolio embodies a more intriguing expression. Also, excluding the margin lines on each image in the second portfolio I think would work better 🤷🏾‍♂️? I believe removing the margins helps the image speak more cohesively with the whole page, as one entity flowing smoothly 😁
AND YES, I do have a question for you Natalie and David. What programs do you recommend for building a profound project design workflow through
    1. Draft and Concept Phase
    2. 3d Modeling
    3. Rendering
    4. Post-Production

yes I agree with your comment, David, about David’s portfolio hehe
      programs used in our program
drafting: hand sketching, a lot of messy drawings, light Rhino7 modeling
      modeling: rhino7, and sometimes Revit
      Rendering: Enscape and VRay
      Post Production:
      image editing: photoshop
linework cleanup: rhino (2D trim and extend commands) then exported into Adobe Illustrator to clean up the linework more and lineweights

Hey there! First off, I've been watching some of your videos and it has been incredibly helpful to me as a high school student. In the future I'm thinking about pursuing architecture and I have a few questions. From your experience do you think traditional drawing skills (you know, with pencil and paper) are essential, is having a digital designing? and/or do you need digital drawing skill too, which one is more important? Also, I'm curious if architecture programs in college teach students how to use design software you know in the first semester/early on or if you have to learn that on your own. Thank you :)) (sorry if my comment sound stiff/wrong english is not my first language).
