I ever realized when I was a kid I would be stationed at Norton a few years later. 1967 to 1970

I was stationed at Norton from 1970-1972 and 1974-1977. Great base, it's a hoot looking at all the familiar flight line areas including those massive hangars. Only when I was there, the F-105s, C-124s, and C-118s were replaced by the iconic C-141 Starlifters!!

Norton is where I saw my first SR71 flyby at an air show! It was awesome!

I was station at Norton AFB from 1980 to 1988 with the 1835th EIS / AFCC trained as a telephone linesman/cable splicer. My home was 60 miles away in East Los Angeles. Love that base. I found out about the filming of this episode the first year I was there. I'm a Twilight Zone fan.

If I remember correctly at Norton in this days, did the phone lineman have a little practice area near the pax terminal that they would climb the poles and such? Sort of across the street from the "lemon lot" and next to the video tape rental place? The only reason I remember is that once one of the comm guys apparently fell off one of the poles and by the time I was going by was already being treated at the scene. My memories of Norton in that same time frame, drugs, drugs and more drugs and the bowling alley hamburgers, the smell of that and cigarette smoke and beer. That was my first base. The joke was that Norton was where the fake moon landing was shot over at the AVVS building on the other side of the base.

May I ask. Where can I see the film?

The Twilight Zone is a TV show not a film I would personally recommend looking it up on Google and seeing if you can find the full seasons

That wasn't smog. It was probably part fog. I lived in Norwalk, CA about maybe 40 miles Southwest of this base and we didn't have real smog, which you state, until in the late 60s early 70s. That's when it was really bad.

At Norton once at night, the fog was so bad that you could not see the hanger used in this video, from the pax terminal. This was in the 1980's
