I too faced similar issue. This is going on for many years. They have to keep labour prices fixed an nominal. I spent approx 33k for only replacing the entire outer body, excluding all mental part and the tank. Basically all plastic parts and the headlight unit for my r15 v2 in 2014.

you dont need to strain your self.. write complaint to yamaha customer care and if possible you can send the video footage. rest they will take care.. i had same issue with honda for looting money i wrote to customer care describing their behaviour and denied to give bike. the next day the showroom manager came to my office and asked apologize and want me to write mail to customer care stating they are very good. they completely removed the labour amount for me.

They charged me for General Service when I went for changing stator coil in KTM eventhough I told them not to do it. So I called their regional manager and told him about this. Then they removed the general service amount and only charged for the stator coil. Try escalating this to someone above them
Definitely, It's not a joke ?? Bike service with 8k is very very high. Even, we can do engine work itself for this amount. And , we can get 2nd hand splendor itself for that amount.
Should learn some basic repairs. I have a Bajaj discover 100m. Crossed over one lakh seventy-five thousand KM. Own service. Only puncture works are done outside. I learnt A to Z service through RUclips videos. Two times performed engine works. All engine works were done by me. I am an electronics engineer having no knowledge about mechanical engineering field, but now I can do any service in my bike without going to any mechanic shops or service centre. The only thing I go for Authorised Service Centre is to purchase spare parts . 😃.
If u take all original parts n go to local mechanic n calculate the cost it will be 3 to 4 times extra in showroom however they tell we have changed these parts but surely not have changed

Not only YAMAHA, All the brand service centers are like this. I did service in Bajaj, they even handed me invoice with some random names of service names which I didn't ask and they didn't even done. I too asked and raised complaint in customer service and I decided to file in consumer court after that they have refunded my money. Full of Scam.
People with very little knowledge or no knowledge go to company authorised service centers , thinking that they will be safe there with priceing and original spares ,but the truth is not that, they over inflate the labour amt and also use aftermarket spares ,the reason being that thier margin on new vehicles is very poor hence this type of cheating, the best option would be to go to the authorised service centers for the warranty period only,where you don't spend anything, once your warranty obligations are over go to a reliable private mechanic who is mostly transparent in his transactions . The local mechanic is honest and the company guys are mostly cheats .
I have done many things on my 15 year old apache. But have never faced this issue. My bill always have the price of each part. And always get the old parts if needed. Labour is usually 300. Unless the engine is opened. I don't give to local mechanic as they may perform shortcuts.

People with very little knowledge or no knowledge go to company authorised service centers , thinking that they will be safe there with priceing and original spares ,but the truth is not that, they over inflate the labour amt and also use aftermarket spares ,the reason being that thier margin on new vehicles is very poor hence this type of cheating, the best option would be to go to the authorised service centers for the warranty period only,where you don't spend anything, once your warranty obligations are over go to a reliable private mechanic who is mostly transparent in his transactions .
The local mechanic is honest and the company guys are mostly cheats .

I have done many things on my 15 year old apache. But have never faced this issue. My bill always have the price of each part. And always get the old parts if needed. Labour is usually 300. Unless the engine is opened. I don't give to local mechanic as they may perform shortcuts.
