I drove past him and he went to follow me again but this time i drove down the road away from my neighborhood and he gave up. There are some really psychos out there!

I think it’s more about people getting angry behind the wheel. Even people who would never assault someone, can get very mad behind the wheel. I don’t know what it is but a lot of people flip out over tiny issues while behind the wheel. Think about the last time someone honked at you. It usually sends a trigger through most people. This also goes for people who impede traffic by driving horribly, not using turn signals, driving under the speed limit, sporadically jumping into your lane as you almost pass by them, abruptly braking, drifting out of lanes while on their phones, not driving on a green light because they're on their phones. At 60 years old, I have never seen so much deliberate, aggressive driving as I have seen in the past 2 or 3 years. People are angry, aggressive, and simply don't care about other motorists. There is zero courtesy. I think people don't even know how to interact anymore. It's sad.

I agree but I’ve seen a lot of people around that age get very mad just because someone honked at them. I saw a “soccer mom” in her minivan, flip the hell out because the car behind her rightfully honked at her because the green arrow came on and she was probably busy on social media instead of going forward. About 5 whole seconds (long time at a light) passed before the person honked at her. I was the 3rd car behind and I too was annoyed that the lady just sat there. Down the street, soccer mom rolled down her window and yelled something at the car that had honked at her.

We live in a society where the slightest perceived threat or disagreement can't be tolerated and escalates to violence. I remember my dad driving with all of us kids and he was in law enforcement, he'd pull to the side of the road and wave them to pass us. We'd all go back to our happy life driving down the road. I do the same thing now.
Yeah, I drove on a desert highway from CA to Las Vegas one time and saw two cars jostling for position; I saw one guy take a gun out and lay it on his passenger seat before lowering the passenger widow and yelling at the guy to see if he wanted to escalate things. The other guy never saw the gun. He was apologetic and said he wanted no trouble, though. So both cars drove off in peace.
I don't know, I feel like I'm one of the few who doesn't suffer that disease of road rage, pretty much everyone I've driven with have shocked me how hateful they turn behind the wheel, it's not even defensive but aggressive driving, tail gating with passionate anger to pass everyone and save 2 minutes on the road. I just got a dash-cam. I have two teen drivers on learner's permits. I get furious at how many people get so impatient and reckless with them. One time a guy in a white pick-up tailgated my son on the freeway when we were at 70MPH. He did this for over 8 miles. I told my son, just stay at the limit in the right lane and ignore him. He can use the passing lane. My son could see him in the rear view mirror and it made him anxious. I had to keep telling him to just stay calm and drive safely. Finally the jerk passed us on the left and flipped us the middle finger. Thankfully my son was not looking at him. He knew my son was a student driver because we put the student driver magnets on the car. Another time an impatient driver crossed a double yellow line to speed past us. Actually it happened twice. This was in our own neighborhood. That's why we got the student driver magnets.
I drive a Concrete Mix Truck for a living, I see this shat ALL the time! heck just yesterday, Im trying to get over into the right lane after a merger in order to get to the off ramp, A guy behind me speeds up behind me, Cuts me off by passing in the right lane Im trying to change into (with the blinker on for about 20 seconds at this point as NO ONE wants to let big trucks over for some reason) Fly's past me JUST to change Right back into the Original lane in front of me, then taps his breaks to slow back down!.... If he would have just stayed where he was, Id have been out of his way anyways! Just no common sense or curtsy with a lot of these "I only care about myself" drivers!

It seems like it just keeps getting worse. I live in a small town and a couple of years ago, I was on my way home from the hospital after just having breast cancer surgery. The light was green for us, and we turned right when a truck ran a red light and almost hit us from behind. The truck started blowing his horn and came up in the lane beside us cursing out his window. We ignored him and when we stopped at the next light, a little guy about 5 foot 2 jumped out of the truck and stood in the middle of the road throwing a temper tantrum. I took out my phone and started recording while the driver called the police. When he saw the phones, he jumped back in the truck and took off. I guess he didn't like stopping for red lights and expected everyone else to get out of his way. A few months later we were watching the news and a guy that looked just like him was arrested in a drug bust.

There were countless near-brawls, and one of my team was physically assaulted because he wouldn't allow a trucker to cut the line. I saw how truckers drive, too. You lot get no sympathy from me.
it will depend on the depth of the plea deal. As it stands, at least one of the offenses (aggravated battery) is a felony with a minimum sentence of 1 year (max. 20 years). Not going to prison would require getting at least that charge dropped or reduced. Realistically, he will most likely serve time. 8 charges, at least one of which is a felony, and he will not get a lot of sympathy from the D.A.

I was attacked at 2pm on Miami Gardens Drive back in the 80s (coming back from lunch). He was pissed I stopped at a yellow light and attempted to harass me for three more lights before pulling into the left turn lane, turning his car sideways to block my car, then casually walked over to my car and started screaming obscenities while kicking my window/door. My coworker was horrified, pressed against the passenger door. There were 6 lanes of traffic stopped at that red light…not one person got out of their car to help until the light changed and a guy in the opposite lane jumped out of his car to see if I was ok. We both had delayed reactions about an hour later, telling our coworkers what happened as my coworker sobbed uncontrollably. Too bad there weren’t cameras back then. I’m sure I wasn’t the first person he menaced like that. EDIT: This particular street has fast-changing yellow lights. It's easy to find yourself stuck in the middle of the street after the light turns red. It's not always applicable to stop at a yellow light but when you know the street and its lights it's responsible to act accordingly, not dangerously blocking traffic.

I agree but I’ve seen a lot of people around that age get very mad just because someone honked at them. I saw a “soccer mom” in her minivan, flip the hell out because the car behind her rightfully honked at her because the green arrow came on and she was probably busy on social media instead of going forward. About 5 whole seconds (long time at a light) passed before the person honked at her. I was the 3rd car behind and I too was annoyed that the lady just sat there.

We live in a society where the slightest perceived threat or disagreement can't be tolerated and escalates to violence. I remember my dad driving with all of us kids and he was in law enforcement, he'd pull to the side of the road and wave them to pass us. We'd all go back to our happy life driving down the road. I do the same thing now.
Yeah, I drove on a desert highway from CA to Las Vegas one time and saw two cars jostling for position; I saw one guy take a gun out and lay it on his passenger seat before lowering the passenger widow and yelling at the guy to see if he wanted to escalate things. The other guy never saw the gun. He was apologetic and said he wanted no trouble, though. So both cars drove off in peace.

I just got a dash-cam. I have two teen drivers on learner's permits. I get furious at how many people get so impatient and reckless with them. One time a guy in a white pick-up tailgated my son on the freeway when we were at 70MPH. He did this for over 8 miles. I told my son, just stay at the limit in the right lane and ignore him. He can use the passing lane. My son could see him in the rear view mirror and it made him anxious. I had to keep telling him to just stay calm and drive safely. Finally the jerk passed us on the left and flipped us the middle finger. Thankfully my son was not looking at him. He knew my son was a student driver because we put the student driver magnets on the car. Another time an impatient driver crossed a double yellow line to speed past us. Actually it happened twice. This was in our own neighborhood. That's why we got the student driver magnets.

It seems like it just keeps getting worse. I live in a small town and a couple of years ago, I was on my way home from the hospital after just having breast cancer surgery. The light was green for us, and we turned right when a truck ran a red light and almost hit us from behind. The truck started blowing his horn and came up in the lane beside us cursing out his window. We ignored him and when we stopped at the next light, a little guy about 5 foot 2 jumped out of the truck and stood in the middle of the road throwing a temper tantrum. I took out my phone and started recording while the driver called the police. When he saw the phones, he jumped back in the truck and took off. I guess he didn't like stopping for red lights and expected everyone else to get out of his way. A few months later we were watching the news and a guy that looked just like him was arrested in a drug bust.

Some of them were good people, but the majority were vile, rude, and ignorant. On three separate occasions my team had to pick up plastic grocery bags full of human feces that truck drivers left in our parking lot because they were too goddamned lazy to walk to the men's room. There were countless near-brawls, and one of my team was physically assaulted because he wouldn't allow a trucker to cut the line. I saw how truckers drive, too. You lot get no sympathy from me.

it will depend on the depth of the plea deal. As it stands, at least one of the offenses (aggravated battery) is a felony with a minimum sentence of 1 year (max. 20 years). Not going to prison would require getting at least that charge dropped or reduced.
Realistically, he will most likely serve time. 8 charges, at least one of which is a felony, and he will not get a lot of sympathy from the D.A.

I was attacked at 2pm on Miami Gardens Drive back in the 80s (coming back from lunch). He was pissed I stopped at a yellow light and attempted to harass me for three more lights before pulling into the left turn lane, turning his car sideways to block my car, then casually walked over to my car and started screaming obscenities while kicking my window/door. My coworker was horrified, pressed against the passenger door. There were 6 lanes of traffic stopped at that red light…not one person got out of their car to help until the light changed and a guy in the opposite lane jumped out of his car to see if I was ok. We both had delayed reactions about an hour later, telling our coworkers what happened as my coworker sobbed uncontrollably. Too bad there weren’t cameras back then. I’m sure I wasn’t the first person he menaced like that. EDIT: This particular street has fast-changing yellow lights. It's easy to find yourself stuck in the middle of the street after the light turns red. It's not always applicable to stop at a yellow light but when you know the street and its lights it's responsible to act accordingly, not dangerously blocking traffic.

Last summer, here in Utah close to where I live, there was a road rager chasing someone who pissed him off and in the pursuit onto a state highway, the aggressor that was doing the chasing crashed head on into and killed a recently married couple that were not even involved! Over what? Hurt Feelings and bruised ego? And if it happens in a state like Utah, it can happen anywhere. Utah is usually a peaceful place.
