Mine too David - you fill my heart with light and my mind with joy and all I can tell you is I am so so so so grateful you are here in this time with me. I love you SO much I have no words. I have all and every album, lp, cd whatever it is you have ever put out. You make my heart sing and my soul sore. It is not about our personal perceptions, it is about our knowing together that we each know and we allow each other to do so without judgment. I DO LOVE YOU. THANK YOU.
Fabulous Song by David and I can say that having been there... I enjoyed him immensely! Had never heard him "live" and it was a great evening! Thanks again Ahhre and all who made it possible! (Justin was a terrific surprise.) Phyllis
I was at this Westfield, NJ concert too; I think the back of my head is visible in shadow at one point. I bought the Airstream CD and think the best cut is "Perfect Storm" but there are many others. Didn't you think the audio quality of the concert was amazing -- such a rich, full sound he gets from the guitar. I don't know why DW makes this paralyzing grin/smile after each song -- like a football player after a touchdown, except there's no game.
I saw David live at Ahrre's concert too. That's my head off to the left. Liked Justin also. But I doubt it's David's "favorite song", although it has a great guitar sound. Unclear about the meaning: Are the three brothers -- Jew, Christian, Muslim? If so which religion is the daughter? My favorite Wilcox song = Chet Baker's Unsung Swan song. Best album = How Did You Find Me Here. David had several good new songs so he's still evolving as an artist.
For all of you trying to figure out what the 'characters' mean; just stop talking and start feeling. You will know - words or not. and it is not about that. it's about your heart opening... let it.
Possibly. An interesting notion. Your thinking fits the logic of the song. If so, it's not one of Wilcox's better metaphors, in my view, but the song sounds nice with such beautiful chords. Thanx, Cristale.
You mean, of course, IF they are actually permitted past the checkpoints to the land they used to own before they were illegally expelled? This is a very simplistic view of the reality on the ground.
Good interpretation. Thanx. So, the three religions (Jewish, Christianity, Islam) have forgotten the essence of their religion (ie "faith"), forgotten that their "inheritance" is overlapping. So the peoples of the One God are not mutually exclusive, but inclusive. They're imprisoned faith in the Jerusalem prison
Hey David, Love your music. Just one point One weekend a year are Jews allowed full access to the Cave of the Patriarchs, and never are we allowed in the Dome of the Rock. We are even guarded on limited visits the temple mount, and always forbidden to pray there. Ironically the only faith restricted, the only people who are not allowed access to their most holy sites in Israel are Jews. Throughout history only modern Israel has allowed Christians AND Muslims free access to their holy sites.
I think the sister is not fatih as fatih died. Jerusalem as the city itself is too simple and lacks the living joyfulness reflected in the message of the sister. I think perhaps the sister is more the pure love of god, the spirituality that should underly the practice of religion.

3 years after my last post to this song. Still...so amazing.
An amazingly warm voice

while dave is an artist all his own, i can definitely her the James Taylor influence here
I'm wondering who Ahrre's (of Coffee With Conscience) favorite singer/songwriter is.

@tom1600x1050 Not to you. But to him, he's playing the best game life has.

All the more reason to come to an enlightened solution
