@@waffler69 Thinking of you as I make this for the first time tonight. It will be a once in a VERY blue moon treat - like maybe 2x a year, at the very most, because so much deadly ingredients are in this stuff. I haven’t been to the movie theater in many, many years because of my disability, and like you, I used to work at a theater when I was a youngin’, so I crave that popcorn every now and then. This will be my first time attempting to make it though… It’s really sad that you died from indulging on absolutely everything, and I hope that people will learn a lesson from knowing what ended your life so early.
Dude..with all the COVID stuff and movie theaters being closed, weekend popcorn was my way of forgetting about work on weekend and getting lost in a movie. I missed that! I wanted this at home if possible and researched things a lot. I bought the great northern popper with stand and thought the coconut oil and flavacol was the answer...was too salty and just didn’t give me the movie taste. I ran across your video here....bingo. Ditched the coconut oil, reduced the flavacol by half and used the buttery topping to pop! Perfect! Movie authentic! Can’t thank you enough! This is a dream come true

I just got all the stuff off Amazon to make this my friend. My kids are getting a popcorn maker for Easter. They're going to love it, thank you for the great content and recipes. I hope you're up there having a great time, smiling down.
This is better than those prepackaged kits I got at the restaurant supply store. Now, I got to find that cheese dust because you know that’s legit next level popcorn.
So glad I ran across your video. Just got a popcorn machine for my theater room and I've basically wasted a whole day researching how to make popcorn. I purchased the Amish popcorn and the butter oil stuff...Has anyone tried the white cheddar cheese dust? I love white cheddar popcorn. I think I'm going to try that vs the regular cheddar.
Did you ever get the cheese dust? I want to try the white cheddar cheese one, but it's a lot of bad reviews on Amazon, saying the product is out of date.
This is that old school concession too. That theater isnt even around anymore and the popcorn at the mega theater does not hit like this stuff does. Super buttery and salty. The popcorn at my theater tastes like vegetable oil or somethink weak
I LOVE your videos!!! So glad I found you!! I love me some fresh popcorn 🍿 too!! Where can I get some of that cheese dust?? P.s. I love your doggies!! I have a yorkie named Roxy.....she is also a popcorn lover lol
I got my cheese dust from Amazon, it is called "Cheddar Cheese Powder by Hoosier Hill Farm" It is so good and a little bit goes a long way. I really wanted to try and make some mac and cheese with it because its almost just like the packets in the easy mac. So you can just cheese up everything you decide to cook! Popcorn is one of the best dog treats because you can just throw them a nugget every now and then. In my house if you have popcorn the dogs are going to be looking directly at you until you are finished.
I love the taste of popcorn but I never eat it anymore because some of the kernel shells or whatever they're called will occasionally get stuck in my teeth/gums and sometimes it can be difficult to get out. Sadly I decided the stress just wasn't worth it. But I'm jealous of those who can enjoy it with no problems. I always loved the caramel popcorn. When I was a kid I loved getting a box of cracker jacks. Anyways this was a good video. It felt very nostalgic.
Yo I want a popcorn machine now lol. Cool vid man, you ever experiment by putting a bit of spicy oil in there maybe? I love me some popcorn with a kick
Actually yes! Sometime i put pickled jalapenos in the oil once it's hot and let them cook for a moment then add the kernels. Then you come across some fried jalapenos you can snack on and it makes the popcorn spicey
i'm going to try this..i bought my popcorn machine with wheel cart few years ago and only got chewy popcorn, very dissappointed and frustrated...if this works it will no longer be just for show 😊
i tried it and after years of searching useless reddit tips, buying pounds and pounds of different kernal brands, and oils....waffle69 advise is the one...i can finally get exact movie theater popcorn woohoo...thank you waffle69...RIP
I recently bought 8 pounds of Snappy brand large yellow popcorn kernels and a Presto popcorn popper on substantial sales. Some Snappy Butter Burst and Flavacol will be ordered next. Theater popcorn is too salty and caustic for me, so the salt will be used sparingly. When the excellent Snappy popcorn is finished, I might try the Amish brand. However, both it and Redenbacher are more expensive and you don't get as much for the higher price.
I use a brillo pad sometimes but the oil isn't very sticky so you don't have to clean it that often, if your stuff is already dirty for some reason I would use a brillo pad with vinegar. For the most part tho it should be super easy to wipe the whole thing off. It really doesn't get that sticky or dirty (as far as this method, if you used coconut oil I have no idea)
I get a little containter and put super how water in it with just a dash of soap. I have heard of people using vinegar too. Its a little easier to clean a warmed up machine as well because the oil will be easier to wipe off.
@@waffler69 I'm sure! I found the size of your machine after further review of your reviews. I ordered the 10oz machine in black and all the ingrediencies that you posted to make my first batch on movie popcorn at home. I can't wait for it to arrive. :)
@@venusv12 im excited for you. Its so fun to experiment with the oil to kernels ratio. You can get super butter crazy if you want haha. Just take my advice on this, if you put pickled jalapenos in it the whole room will be like pepper spray. Ask me how I know lmao.
Dude I am so relieved the coconut oil looks like that and it's okay. I just got my first shipment and it was not thick like in the pictures and numerous videos. So getting it in liquid form doesn't make a difference in taste I assume.
Use the ingredients I used but put it in a device called a "whirley pop" you can find it on amazon. You may have to tweak the ratio because it may not hold as much but its super easy to figure it out. If you dont want to spend the money on that.. idk, just throw it in a pot and when everything starts popping throw a top on top the pot? I never did that last thing I said but I mean, if thats what you got then it is what it is.
