- We've come to the French Alps for a week in cycling paradise. Today we tackle a few Cols from our chalet in Saint Jean De Sixt including the Col De Aravis (featuring In the Tour De France) and the Col de l'Épine and find ourselves descending behind pro cyclist Jesse Kramer. Honestly, I've never ridden anywhere like this, the views, surfaces and climbs are the best I've ever ridden.
Big thanks to Jesse - / jessekramer_

That poor JV rider looked pleased to have someone to talk to …
The best thing about France is not only the road surface but the complete lack of cars..
Top video, and no base layer in the summer, you mate's right 👍
Yea 100%, even the ‘busy’ areas aren’t that busy and the cars are super respectful of cyclists.
Great vid and one of my favorite channels since I started cycling myself. Keep it up!
#TeamNoBaseLayer
Thanks for the comments 🙏 disappointed with your base layer choices tho 😉
Great video Grant - I want to visit the Alps next summer so more like this please! 👍
Ah thanks! Got a few more videos coming from this trip 👌🏻
If there isn't a "I'm climbing down" t-shirt soon, then you're missing a trick 🤣
😂😂😂
You boys make cycling look too easy and too stylish 😂😂
😂
This looks like so much fun. Mainly the downhill, tho 😂
It’s the reward 😉
You think the Alps / Provence is good....... try the Pyrenees! Just below my mind and i am now 2 trips in 10months so far and booked twice next year to be 4 trips in three years by summer next year. All the in the Argeles valley staying with Pyrenees Cycling Lodge.
Sounds like this should be our next trip 👀
Epic video man. So sick following that pro down the descent. You both looked buzzing after it!
What are you shooting with? GoPro with the in mouth mount?
Hah, we were buzzing! Yep, GoPro in the mouth mount!
It looks beautiful there. I'd love to go but I'm in no way fit enough to ride in the Alps haha
There’s a nice bit of variation in the climbs, it’s not all savage 😂 and often one side of a Col is less steep than the other. Also, e-bike?
Random Q but do you have prescription lenses on your sunglasses? I been looking for a while. Any recos much appreciated. Loved the little fan chase 😂
I use contact lenses when I ride, they’ve been game changing for me.
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Are those photochromic lenses in your Vulcans? I’m close to buying a pair but are they worth the price?
Yep, the smoke colour! I love them for anything other than super bright light, I really like that they adapt so you can wear them when it’s overcast all the way to pretty sunny whereas if they are full sunglasses i struggle in trees etc. But they are expensive and super luxury. I did see some photochromatic sunglasses in decathlon when I was in France for £40.
Did you know Jesse was a pro before asking him about it? Maybe i'm a noob, but could have just as well been an enthusiast with lots of money for bike and kit.
He was in full Jumbo kit, bike and all so we were pretty confident, but we didn’t know who it was until we chatted to him.
You could tell. Money doesn’t buy form.
Pretty easily. He makes cycling a bike look like an art form.
