This looked like the annual City of London Lord's Mayor parade. There is nothing special about this. You get this once a year. The parade is normally led by the military because of its association with various London based regiments, especially the Royal Artillery Company. On top of the public services, the parade also reflects the City professionals like lawyers, bankers, insurance people, traditional traders and scholars etc and of course English history, particularly the civil war when London played a leading role! There are various parades here and there throughout the whole year, you just need to live in London to see them !

The Annual Lord Mayors parade for the City of London is for everybody with some kind of City connection, or just want to take part. A very British parade celebrating all the various charities, youth groups, cadets, businesses and support services from all communities. Very much a British event.

Now this is what tourists would love to see, a display of British pride at its best. From Sir Isaac Newton, Alan Turing, Stephen hawking, Sir Winston Churchill, Captain Cook, Shakespeare. And last but not least,the Great British Empire. My entire English family served in the British military, but I am also half Maltese. Watching this lovely parade makes me want to go and visit London again.

This is wonderful! I don’t know what the occasion is but i wish we could see this type of parade more often!! Good to be reminded there is still British Culture at the heart of London and our country! I love to see our armed forces on show! Well done all who took part!

Our heritage procession in every detail was beautifully carried out, our military smartly dressed etc. So proud of them all. The horses were beautiful and everyone was enjoying themselves, our British way of life. Loved it. Yes, I certainly agree with your comment on the unpleasant lot being noisy and disrespectful, should be in the country they create about, not on our streets, cities, and towns. So much for you knowing about British traditions,they are passing the Royal Exchange in the City with the Bank of England in the background,this is held first weekend of November,the week before Remembrance Sunday

Now this is what tourists would love to see, a display of British pride at its best. From Sir Isaac Newton, Alan Turing, Stephen hawking, Sir Winston Churchill, Captain Cook, Shakespeare. And last but not least,the Great British Empire. My entire English family served in the British military, but I am also half Maltese. Watching this lovely parade makes me want to go and visit London again.
Quirkily brilliant and something the other cities throughout the British Isles should get a taste of. Nationalism, patriotism and culture in a laid back, fun way. Would have loved to have been there.

As an 🇺🇸, I must agree. We have fantastic parades such as those on the 4th of July, but they are just different. This parade is just fantastic and must surely make you have pride in being 🇬🇧.
