A couple of months ago I rescued a shih tzu off the streets, she was matted to the skin and had fleas but she is the sweetest dog. I have also recently rescued a Shih tzu . Her 88 year old owner developed dementia quandary did not know she had a really bad bladder infection and developed a stone pit! She is guessed any where between 12- 18. We have been trying to raise money for her operation but we haven’t had much luck. We are asking people to donate directly to vet so they know it’s legitimate! So I understand how such a sweetheart could end up in a rescue! 🌹❤️thank you for posting this it helps us save a bit of money!
Wonderful video! Love how you explained everything as you did it! Great dog too! I had my year-old Shih Tzu professionally groomed three times as a puppy. Now I’ve groomed him at home three times, full cuts and a sometimes trims in between. He does not behave well, playful and/or irritated so we take breaks , distract him during clipping if I can, and reward good behaviour with lots of praise and sometimes, a wee bit of kibble. It helps. So, seeing how you hold the nose and face is a huge help! Thanks so much! God bless you girl!🌼
This is my favourite style for shih tzu faces ! It makes their eyes so much more open and I feel like they are more comfortable without lots of hair in their face and around their ears ♡

This seven doggie mama, 75 years young, gets lots of compliments on how I learned to groom (from the best teacher!) all my dogs. Three Poms, a miniature Poodle Yorkie mix and Charlie the shelter puppy rescue a year ago. Today he looks just like Tramp in the Disney movie, Lady and the Tramp. Thanks for all the great information you shared. I bought a small grooming table that is very sturdy and I love it, the grooming shears you recommended and scissors. I have to take Charlie to Tractor Supply to bathe him in their doggie bath tub and dry him while I am there. I groom his nails, feet, ears and face sitting down in my den as he is so tall, and has learned to be very cooperative. 😘❣️

You did a beautiful job. I appreciate your explanations even though I just tidy up my dog between seeing his groomer. BTW, my ShihTzu rescued me during COVID. He came to me at 5 months old. A wonderful elderly couple had bought him & a Boxer puppy at a pet store so that they would walk regularly. Sadly, within a couple of months, the man was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She could not handle 2 puppies while caring for her husband as he went through treatment. A friend of theirs took the Boxer since they already had an older one. I am a friend of a friend of hers on Facebook so I was very fortunate. Our friend connected us. My Sammy is such a sweet boy.
You are the BEST groomer. I’m embarrassed to admit I have tears watching this because you are just so compassionate and caring towards your furry clients. I watched Otto’s video first and got emotional already but this one sent me over the edge 😂

I have studied this intently. I inherited a sweet little Shitzu from my aunt who recently passed. It's pricey to take her to the groomer once a month so you have really helped me understand how to groom her myself.

This is a great session! I like to watch several times to learn new techniques. My shih tzu rescue can't tolerate the chin hold very well, so I use the grooming loop tightened a bit and slip my fingers under the front of the loop. Not quite a motionless as a chin hold, but she is getting used to staying still with the loop method. Thank you for all you do to help us learn and take care of our furry family members at home.
I watched so many videos about grooming shih tzu’s ever since we got our little Daisy princess a year ago and this is the best instruction video I came across. Very clearly explained step by step. I’ll definitely try this this weekend. Great helpful channel 👍
Best help video I have found we got Walter a Shih Tzu a few months ago & we took him to get his first hair cut & let me tell you we didnt get our money's worth for sure so my daughter and I cut him ourselves & with this video we did a better job than the si called professional & with time we will get even better thank you so much for the video & looking forward for more

I have a Shih Tzu mix I trimmed down his body his legs pretty well it's the face that I have hard time because he is a biter. Lol! He loves the blow dryer, but he hates the scissors and the clippers near his face. I distract him with treats. I really like how careful and gentle u r with Mutley. I have seen other groomers here on YT and some go pretty fast with scissors around the dog's face and already my anxiety levels r going thru the roof and watching u how u groom Mutley it was so enjoyable to watch and learn, u really r a wonderful dog groomer.😃👍🏼👍🏼🐶❤️

Gorgeous boy I have a rescue and she gets into a terrible state when she goes to get her hair cut I would love to do this but it looks too difficult. Her brother is not a fan of going to the groomer either but not as bad. I will try it soon by myself. Thank you for educating us

Wonderful job full of artistry. I couldn’t help but think throughout the video, this dog must be lost. No one abandons a Shih Tzu, I have two and a Maltese. He was definitely loved because he didn’t act like an abused dog. I thought that before you said it. He was definitely lost and didn’t have a microchip. Sad.
😲 Wow you are a great groomer. I wish I found someone like you. The first groom my dog or puppy got shave everything off. I have a dog is half poodle , and shih tzu. Why would they shave this dog bald I don't know. You have alot of experience. The dog looks amazing. Now my dog is a year old and scared of his own shadow because of the bad groomer scared my poor dog 🐕. I wish you have any ideas for him to trust again any ideas. I really enjoyed watching this video. Wish you were close by to trim off my pet. This is the first time I own a pet and I adore 🥰 him I’m afraid to take him with anyone that’s not that experienced or that mis treat pet or having a bad hair cut. Any places you know where to go since I live in eagle pass, Texas. It’s a small town the places here I been hearing bad things how they treat animals so my puppy is 3 months old and I know I want to start him early so he can get use to cutting his hair when needed. Any suggestions. Please reply 🤗
I know how much you love him. I don’t have any connections in Texas I wish I did to help you. My recommendation is to contact your vet and see if your vets office can give you a good recommendation for a groomer🙏

Wonderful job full of artistry. I couldn’t help but think throughout the video, this dog must be lost. No one abandons a Shih Tzu, I have two and a Maltese. He was definitely loved because he didn’t act like an abused dog. I thought that before you said it. He was definitely lost and didn’t have a microchip. Sad.
No, he was surrender because the owner suffered health issues 😢 I just groomed him today, he is really showing his age sadly.

😲 Wow you are a great groomer. I wish I found someone like you. The first groom my dog or puppy got shave everything off. I have a dog is half poodle , and shih tzu. Why would they shave this dog bald I don't know. You have alot of experience. The dog looks amazing. Now my dog is a year old and scared of his own shadow because of the bad groomer scared my poor dog 🐕. I wish you have any ideas for him to trust again any ideas. You seem very compassionate towards your dogs or cats it seems. I really wish I could find someone like you.

I really enjoyed watching this video. Wish you were close by to trim off my pet. This is the first time I own a pet and I adore 🥰 him I’m afraid to take him with anyone that’s not that experienced or that mis treat pet or having a bad hair cut. Any places you know where to go since I live in eagle pass, Texas. It’s a small town the places here I been hearing bad things how they treat animals so my puppy is 3 months old and I know I want to start him early so he can get use to cutting his hair when needed. Any suggestions. Please reply 🤗
I know how much you love him. I don’t have any connections in Texas I wish I did to help you. My recommendation is to contact your vet and see if your vets office can give you a good recommendation for a groomer🙏

thanks so much for this. I really want to be able to do a good job of our little shitzu/cavalier myself. she is such a sweet little thing and easy to groom. Our last dog used to snarl and turn nasty when anyone tried to groom her.
