I've seen numerous female singers accompany him in this song, and although Jennie Abrahamson has a beautiful voice, I think Paula Cole does the best rendition by far. Her voice is so powerful doing this song it gives me chills.

Well, no one beats Kate Bush, who is the one singing on the album and, obviously, in the video. Peter has his daughter, Melanie, often as a backup singer in his live shows. Wonder if he ever thought of having HER sing it with him. Maybe she doesn't have the vocal range for the song.
If you want a true 'powerhouse' performance then Paula wins, but for sheer vulnerability and a close Kate contender Jennie wins it for me. Melanie probably didn't want to face the pressure and criticism of performing this particular track, Peter Gabriel may be her dad, doesn't mean she has the voice to match his unfortunately...
It is lovely but to me it isn't a patch on the Duet with Kate Bush.
