To me, this appears to be symbolism about Fluttershy's insecurities. I don't think it's about getting replaced. The "mean" Fluttershy in her dream seems to represent her inner demons. Like most of us, we tend to run from our inner demons, instead of facing them like we should. Fluttershy's insecurities have always centered around her self-esteem and self-worth amongst her friends. She's "running" from the fear of her friends hating and/or abandoning her. It's a fear she may never fully face, but she's learning to accept that there are ponies who really care about her, flaws and all.

I feel like the smug-looking Fluttershy is supposed to represent courage and freedom, something the normal Fluttershy feel she can't have because of her insecurities. When we first see the other Fluttershy, she spins and enjoys her wings, almost like she's either enjoying existing or happy to have this body. The look doesn't strike me as mean, just smug or proud, she hadn't wronged the original Fluttershy in the video so I don't think she's mean, just not afraid and maybe even a little arrogant. Most of the video, I see the other leading Fluttershy, and even a point where I think the other is reaching out for Fluttershy lightly, an encouragement to her to try and catch her and be rid of her demons, but in the end with the lights chasing her it makes me think her insecurities got the better of her. She can't become that other Fluttershy because of her fears and insecurities, and it'll mock her.
Ho Li Lian Because she's not nervous or scared, I'd say she seems a bit arrogant actually. It's that polar opposite, without anything that makes the character docile/submissive/cowardly, they are very likely to turn arrogant. Plus it felt like she knew something we didn't. And we've seen that expression on Rainbow Dash probably, would we call her devilish-smiling?

I think I can understand the dream. The other Fluttershy pony, is a meaner and cold version of the Fluttershy, whom ends up replacing her and making her friends not only turn as cold and rude as the mean Fluttershy, but turn against her and end up going into a whole chase scence. When mean Fluteltershy catches her, she wakes up to see her friends around her, reassuring she's never going to be replaced.
Could be but what if her friends thought that the meaner one was her and the the shy one was fakeing then her friends relized that mean fluttershy was lieing so they relized and said sorry
My interpretation from this video is that Fluttershy is scared that her friends will replace her because she is too shy, and that they don't care for her. When she wakes up she realises that they like her and care for her a lot (as you can see from twilights expression, she is clearly worried) and that puts her mind at peace, or at least that is my opinion.
I must say, apart from one clipping issue with Fluttersys hair, this is one of your best works I have seen. You show a wide range of enviroments effects, perfectly demonstrating your talent.
I never payed attention to Fluttershy's voice...I'll pay more attention the next time I watch it (now). But if you want an instrumental version, ask Blaze, he's the song creator

Got a friend who's a professional videographer to watch this, he says what an absolutely unexpected delight of a video to view and gorgeous music to compliment the video as well.
I would imagine it was done in post. rendered once with one map, then rendered again with the second map. then trimmed and merged. I could be wrong though. but that's how I would have done it

I really want to know what particle effect you used in the scene where Fluttershy got chased by the others because I tried to make an Rainbow trail effect with particles but never got it to work properly...
