A build that finally worked for me, I've been trying all sorts of beginner builds and I could never get them to look right. This one worked out though I did have a couple small issues, but overall it's fantastic. Thank you.
Oh I am so pleased... my aim was to make it nicer thana basic, but still simple enough that anyone could so it. If you follow along as you want to upgrade it will look better and better. If I don't make anything clear enough for you, let me know so I can do better or clarify what I meant
I have 1400+ hours logged into Valheim over multiple play throughs and I am a survival expert in Valheim but I lack the imagination, creativity, and patients to build a nice simple unique place to call home. I always try looking for ideas over here on RUclips. I want to build a cozy mountain cabin I can put all the upgrades in. I subbed to you for some inspiration. I would love to see fully functionable home in all the biomes in the future... Thanks for this videos looking forward to more videos!
I found a spot in the meadows to build a base and I have continued to upgrade it to the point where it is massive, breathtaking, and a culmination of the time I've spent playing this game.
I love this build! It is extremely expandable. Can you add a defensive wall to it too? Can't wait for additional upgrades! For the early game, players have a few options, one of the existing longhouses could be used as a start for the middle or until more resources are gathered one of the 12x10 sides could be used as a starter. However, building the center as a start would mean you wouldn't need to move your fire.
Love your ideas. The original focus of this is that players who are just starting out either in the game or a new play through are able to build this base, once they gather enough resources. Use an existing shack or longhouse while gathering and building, as I did right at the beginning, (seen near the pig pen). However, each upgrade will allow for better defenses as the enemies increase. The swamp biome goes to a whole other level, stay tuned!
@@HelgaBlue At 12:32, you could also temporarily use 1 meter beams around on either the top or bottom parts of the windows to make snapping more accurate
@@elleicarjayramilo that's very true, and if the windows were going to stay that way I definitely would do that, but I knew it was only temporary. My bad for not explaining that though, thanks for mentioning it.
Well stay tuned because its in the works.. Just getting some last minute things set up and we will start streaming a run through each week with a good friend of mine. Its going to be called "Searching for Valhalla".
At 0:42 you have a layout with how many meters are each length. Which is great, btw. However, if I could make a suggestion; I would list them with the number of straight beans that are use in each side. (example: you list 12 meters, which is like 6 beams.)
Hi, thanks for the feedback. Each beam is 2m long and the short ones are 1m, so I thought it was understood, but I shall take your idea on board, thanks so much.
Thank you so much, I try to be as clear as possible and I am glad that it is coming through. I welcome feedback both positive and critical so I can change and work on things when required to make it a better experience for my viewers. New play throughs can be a lot of fun, with knowledge and skills learned from previous times. I found I became a much better player when I had to go back to a newbie again. I hope you will enjoy what I have planned for the growth and upgrades of this build too. :)
oh I hear you, there used to be a really great mod for this called dirty hoe but its been removed :(. If the ground is just too difficult to level, try just building up the main floor plan by 1m. By the way it doesn't have to be in the meadows, I just put it there because its a starter build anyone who is just in the meadows can build.... the version 3 upgrade I am doing is in a fantastic spot which sits in a swamp, mountain, plains and forest area. Fell upon it and couldn't resist.
I don't think I've ever made a base that I kept through all biomes. I guess it could be fun, taking my home from quaint hunting lodge, to fortified manor house, over the course of the game.
My main is always in the plains. Nice and sunny and best for farming and the windmill. The only thing that stays in meadows is portal hub right next to spawn. In case you need to respawn without your bed you can go everywhere instant.
@@chinesepopsongs00 Yeah, I really like the look of the Plains. It feel like the game encourages you to build there, despite the danger, because of all the new build pieces you get, and that it has a lot of open space.
@@chinesepopsongs00 I never chose a biome, I chose a location, when I find the perfect location that gives me a good feelings, that's where I generally build my main base. My plan with this one, is that once you find that special location, this base can be adapted to any environment and grow and change with you as you proceed through the further biomes. Plus its a starter base that anyone can do from the beginning of the game, for new players and old alike. But I do like your thinking as well. I try to change how I do things with each new playthrough, just to come up with new ideas and challenge myself.
The Plains is a great biome for building, I agree. So many annoying enemies to deal with, but if you can put up with that, the lag is less due to it being the least encumbered biome. Less stuff around = much less instances for the game to render and more available to use on your building.

Awesome build! I've just replicated it in my world and it fits PERFECTLY for my Viking Village! Thanks alot, you've earned a sub!

This was good. But where do you put your slave quarters for the Greydwarves? I put 'em all in the basement. Take their rocks away.
love it hehe

So pleased I could help. Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to cover :)
Love some of these ideas. My OCD utterly hates you for that clipping leather station, though XD
oopsie.... I sincerely apologise to your OCD, I hope you can forgive me, and I will move it in future updates hehe

Great idea for a vid. Earned a sub. Thank you for this.
Thanks for the sub! Much appreciated. I'm working on the next upgrade right now :) Keep your eyes peeled.
Took me FOREVER, finally got the house built. Sucks that I do not have the pickaxe yet, but I will make some tweaks when I do
good luck, go kill Ekthyr and get that pickaxe my friend.
Such a cool build!!! saved it :D.
Excellent, I hope you enjoy what's to come in the future upgrades
Been working on a spot in the Meadows to lay this build on, and I SUCK with the leveling tool. It is such a pain in the butt to deal with.

I havent either, but I loved this floor plan so much I wanted to see how it could grow and update so we will find out together how it goes :)

each biome adds new things, that allow you to upgrade. The next video is the iron age and big changes are afoot
