the dfs in the heel of the palm would make this glove sick! i have the all black n thats exactly what i thought when i got it. .. great short cuff glove . love it.
They look a little longer on the wrist. I believe like a 3/4 gauntlet? I am stuck between this and the new smx 2 air . Is the smx 2 a 3/4 gauntlet also?
Hi Revzilla, , I use three fingers for the clutch.(index, middle, and ring fingers). Im worried about the pinky bridge being together with the ring finger. Do you think I could get away with it?or when one finger bends the pinky follows?
These gloves are missing a palm slider & less perforation to compete with the short-cuff gloves from the competition's top-end gloves: Dainese's 4 Stroke Evo. The rest of the Celer gloves is on point (really like their TPU knuckles over carbon fiber). Alpinestars has killed their GPX gloves, which were (IMO) a great alternative to the pricier 4 Stroke Evos, so now Alpinestars is lacking a glove at this level of the glove echelon.
I just got my pair from you guys. The glove itself is very hard to put on and is a hair smaller than other gloves of the same euro fit size. All in all the glove huges your hand well but it's hard to put on
Never ride wearing a watch on your wrist. You're risking serious injury (ditto for rings in fingers) through all kinds of unpredictable forms. Jewellery (including necklaces) should always be removed before jumping on a motorcycle.
The Celer gloves have more leather, which makes them a little more expensive. However, the SPX Air Carbon Gloves have a bit better protection and better ventilation. If you are looking purely for function, then go with the SPX Air Carbon. If you like the style of the Celer Gloves, then go with the Celer. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-spx-air-carbon-gloves *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-celer-gloves
RevZilla The Celer is even nicer in person. I ordered a size up from what my knuckles/hand measures up to like the video and reviews advised and it's a great fit! Thank you for the fast delivery as well. It came to my house earlier today, literally the day after I ordered! Thank youuu RevZilla
Ok so I just bought these gloves online in a size large and noticed there is extra space for my thumb. I can wiggle my thumb side to side in this glove and some extra space on all the fingertips as well. When I tried on the medium glove in a local shop the movement felt restricted compared to the large so I went with large. The palms and wrist fit perfectly but it's the thumb and fingertips I'm worried about. I also heard that leathers will change in size so will the fingers get bigger than it already is? Is it normal to have that much space around the thumb?
Everyone's hands are different, so there is no normal. It's ok if you have a bit of extra space, as long as you find the gloves to be comfortable overall. The glove palms will stretch more than the fingers, so perhaps medium would have been better. Consider that your fingers are generally wrapped around the handlebar grips, and pulling the clutch and brake levers is a pretty limited movement. -DrewZilla
How would these compare to the Dainese Essential Gloves? Overall price point, product tier, and feature set are similar comparatively, but I'm asking moreso about fit and style. Is one thinner feeling? Does one breathe more? Does one have much better grip? Wrist straps?
Even though they're similarly priced, the Celer gloves feel a bit nicer and have more finger and wrist protection. The Dainese Essential Gloves definitely have a more retro style to them though. Both have similar wrist straps. Unless you really prefer the Dainese styling, I'd recommend the Celer Gloves. -DrewZilla
Gloves with full genunine animal hide are better than full synthetic or mixture of synthetic+real animal hide? For example you said this gloves are made of full real leather so this gloves are better than sp air which is mixture of synthetic and real leather ? Thanks for your answers
Hi, is it good for air flow? Some of the reviews suggest they are a little too warm for summer. I was going for the GPX before, then changed my mind when I saw the Celer but I'm not so sure it is cooler than the GPX anymore... What do you think about it? I didn'd think about the GP-Air because they're not so protective enough on the palm... Thank you :)
Stefano Zicari The GPX will provide the most protection but the least ventilation, and the Celer and GP Air have slightly less palm protection but more ventilation. The GP Air has a nice hard palm slider, but the synthetic suede is slightly less abrasion resistant than the full leather palm on the Celer. To me, that puts the Celer in the lead. For more ventilation with great palm protection, consider the Held Sambia Gloves as well. They have a highly abrasion-resistant kangaroo palm with Superfabric reinforcement, and the back of the hand flows a ton of air. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/held-sambia-gloves
How much should I anticipate these to stretch/break in? I'm comparing a small and medium right now; small feel snug with a little resistance in making tight fists and opening hands wide. The medium fit all my fingers but with a bit of extra space in the thumb (might make using signals sloppy). Can you let me know your thoughts? Thanks!
They'll stretch about a half size. You shouldn't be able to make a tight fist comfortably. Your fingers only have to wrap around your hand grips. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla thanks for the reply. My palm measurement is exactly 8in; I think I'm gonna rely on the stretching because sizing up to the medium leaves the thumb feeling too roomy.
The Klim Induction Gloves have more mesh than the Celer Gloves, so they breathe even more than the Celer Gloves while still having very good protection. -DrewZilla
The MIG C2 Gloves use a synthetic palm, which isn't as durable as the full leather construction of the Celer Gloves, so I would choose the Celer Gloves. -DrewZilla
The Celer Gloves offer more ventilation, while the GPX Gloves offer a bit more protection and reinforcement. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-celer-gloves *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-gpx-gloves
If you are racing Supermoto and want a Street/Race glove, you are likely better off looking at full gauntlet gloves with more protection like the GP Pro r3 Gloves to really protect your hand and wrist. You could get away with the Celer or SP-5 for just casual riding on that Supermoto bike, but depending on what you are wearing above the wrist a Gauntlet is likely the better route. The Celer gloves are more of a summer option since they are well-ventilated, lack insulation, and are not waterproof. For a colder-weather glove from Alpinestars at the same price point, check out the Apex Drystars. I have a pair of these myself! -TeamZilla AJ *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-apex-drystar-gloves
Thanks for your input. Appreciate it! Those Apex Drystar look good on paper but I was looking for another color combo, all black isn't for me. I'm looking for something with white or red in the color scheme. Any suggestions.
Colors tend to be slightly limited on winter gloves, but the Valparaiso Drystar gloves come in a high-viz colorway. -TeamZilla AJ *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-valparaiso-drystar-gloves
Hey guys, have you had chance to review these against the new v2? Trying to decide if the newer version is actually an improvement or not… (the difference here in the UK is only £10) Thanks!
It depends whether you run hot or cold. If your hands get sweaty easily, go with the better-venting Celer Gloves. If your hands get cold easily, go with the GPX Gloves. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-celer-gloves *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-gpx-gloves
I'd consider finger length. If your middle finger is about 3.25 inches, go with medium. If your middle finger is 3.5 inches or more, go with size large. -DrewZilla

is it comfortable and easy to wear a wrist watch while riding in these gloves
It depends how loose and how far up your wrist you wear your watch. The cuff does cover the wrist, so it might interfere. -DrewZilla
Never ride wearing a watch on your wrist. You're risking serious injury (ditto for rings in fingers) through all kinds of unpredictable forms. Jewellery (including necklaces) should always be removed before jumping on a motorcycle.
