i felt so overwhelmed and sad when he got scared of what his friend might do, i'm gonna go for a walk, you're... not gonna kill yoursel.., he's so scared to lose him too, finally he found a person to share his feelings with after his sister's gone, we're not gonna let that person walk out of our life just like that, i love this film
The saddest thing is the relief in his eyes when he heard the door behind him open. It seemed he might have actually might really done it. Loneliness is a scary thing when living in darkness and drowning in, even if only imaginary, guilt. Knowing that he cared enough to follow gave him the strength to see a little hope.
I've been there. Just knowing that someone cares enough to be there with you can give you the strength to take a deep breath and let go just a little of that burden. That is usually enough keep from going over the edge.

People find comfort in the strangest places when dealing with immense greif and loss. These two are lucky to have each other because they both share a piece of the same greif and loss. It's tragically beautiful.
I've never seen depression/addiction treated with sincerity and injected with so much hope as here. It doesn't feel romanticized or dramatized. If feels like real life, which makes all for the better, for in real life despite what they may feel, things are never fucked forever. Well done sir. Well done to the actors. Well done to the team. Much love. 💖
well said Román

One of the best short films I have watched in years. The depiction of grief is so accurate that hurts. Loved this film.

From the moment they truly spoke to one another and connected, I felt the raw (overwhelming?) power of connection, self awareness and mutual understanding. A lot of movies with similar subject matter veer into trauma-porn and contrivances to drive a plot that's either nihilistic or overly romanticized, but this goes in a refreshing direction. I love the honesty, the messiness, the raw, human connection, and the real sense of hope for these two guys; I get the real feeling that they recognize each other and have some kind of a good future, whatever that future may be and wherever they go. I love that no matter what happens next, they have a connection, which--from what's shown--has been acknowledged. Simple (sometimes messy) acknowledgement makes such a huge difference! And it's shown incredibly well, and beautifully here! I love this film and these really human characters, and I'm glad to know at least this much of their story.
I wasn't expecting the twist and the ending. Hidden in the tragedy was a new beginning. It left me wanting to know more about the destiny of the new relationship. The age old question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Not sure, but I've read that maybe it's about providing contrast in life. Regardless, it's an excellent short story!
Forgiveness and love have always the last word. They are the most important in our lives. Good film.
This is incredibly raw and powerful. And as the grieving widower of an addict, also feels so authentic. Never Gone was a salty bitter slice of melancholia. Corra at Home was about taking the leap, giving up on futile hopes, change over stagnation. But this one really got to me, hit home. Rewatched it and now even commenting, that's very rare. Congrats on creating this piece of your soul on film. Truly art.
I'm in love with this short film
as a person who's suffered from depression and still from time to time I must admit that I couldn't relate more with the characters, I'm very grateful for the person who once told me in my hardest time that my life doesn't belong to me only it does belong to my family who's gonna carry all the sadness and trauma that my suicide would cause
and I'm very amazed by the chemistry between the two handsome guys and how they instantly became friends or even lovers by one confession
OMG this was so touching. These 2 men. Damn I haven't seen such chemistry. Loved it. It's so beautiful.
Powerful and moving. An emotional rollercoaster that hit all the important emotional touchpoints. Well-scripted and excellently acted. It just reminds me that happiness can grow from tragedy. It certainly left me wanting to know more where their paths would lead. Absolutely outstanding!
could not agree more, said what I was going to say, truly amazing acting, the storyline was very powerful. and yes, Outstanding.

@@tracyparry4216 The title of the film is ‘Leanne is Gone’. It’s in the description.
One of the hardest lessons in life is that you can't go back. And I absolutely hate how I have to keep learning this over and over.
This story took so many turns in a short amount of time and I instantly overcome with tears. 😢
Nowhere do I see a “homosexual” movie ….. This beautiful movie has to do with two lonely , aching people , feeling alone and desperate who at their most tender moment found solace in the arms of each other because in each other’s arms they felt complete …… They completed the person sought forgiveness from …
Very few movies have moved me as this and I can’t stop the tears flowing …..
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A sensitive and beautiful film, well acted, directed and produced. Their future has hope and looks promising.
Excellent short film. David's portrayal of Sean was a heart-wrenching mixture of sorrow, anger and guilt; entirely believable as was their raw, desperate attraction to one another. At that moment each knew the other was the only one on Earth to understand his pain.
I was a bit skeptical because it briefly touched upon addiction. But I'm glad I sat through the video it ends on a happier note. Very emotional. Again, you left me impressed by your talent
It's so easy to let drugs or alcohol take the place of a human connection, but nothing replaces people. This is beautiful, how did I miss it?!?
So so true.....
As a former addict, I find this short raw, real, sincere . Well done. I would love to see this fleshed out to a full length film. There iis so much here to explore. Great job!
This was deeply affecting on multiple levels - but mostly it was ensemble method acting on a level of sheer classicism. Of course that requires adept writing cinematography and editing, but it was the acting that elevated the narrative.
I'm a little awestruck by this film. It was beautiful, and awful, and touching... Oft times out of tragedy comes love to help heal. You just have to grab it.
This short film is INCREDIBLE! The actors are perfect. I have felt their pain. I would like to see it as a full feature film. You can even raise crowdfounding for that. It deserves to be a full film.
In many ways, short films are so much harder to make than a feature film. You need to capture the viewer quickly and get them to go on the journey with you. I think most viewers will decide to continue watching in the first few minutes. I will admit the opening scene of the motel seemed long and I wasn't sure if I was going to stay ; however from the moment the narration begin I was quickly wrapped up in the story. It was believable, honest and kept me focused for the entire time. It was not too long or too short. It was simply perfect. Such a great film. I hope you have more stories to tell.
Forgiveness is an incredible thing, it can be a tool a weapon that restores hope.
BRAVO TO EVERY MAN, AND BRAVA TO EVERY WOMAN INVOLVED WITHIN THE CONCEPTION OF THIS--TRULY--FLAWLESS FILM !!! The Writing, The Acting, The Directing, The Music, The Producing, and EVERYTHING connected to this film, is worthy of EVERY great award that any lover of Cinematic-Treasures could ever imagine. All of you have--SINCERELY--moved me. You have moved others as well. And, for sharing evidence of your creative GIFTS, this Newly-Subscribed Fan will ALWAYS LOVE every single one of you. Thank-you !!!
I did not expect any of that. I'm still sobbing as i type this. That was a very painful, yet hopeful film. It struck many chords in me and brought up a bunch of held beliefs in myself thanks to trauma. The film felt less about the LGBTQIA aspects and more about the grieving process, which i felt was a great decision, because the relationship at the end was born from grief. Every entry into that journal was like a tiny needle prick. It dove hard into his psyche. I felt his pain and hopelessness so deeply that for most of the movie, tears wouldn't stop falling.
There were some aspects about his sister that were never addressed. Why did she kill herself after witnessing her bf cheating with a guy? Would she have reacted similarly if it had been a woman? What made her snap? Getting pissed off at him would've made more sense, but I'm assuming there's something in her history that made her react to that extreme?
Another thing I don't understand is why her brother thinks he did something wrong to her? Was it the drugs? Does he think she hated him because of that? She did invite him to stay with her, so that should've been a sign that she didn't. I know he feels guilty for not attending the funeral, but he shouldn't. I can totally sympathize with that decision.
Is Shawn a violent person or is he only that way when he's drunk? He way overreacted when he grabbed the scissors twice, especially when it came to the custom gift. It wasn't his to keep.
The only gripe i have is with what he learned in therapy. A good therapist would never say that people have it worse than you, because that invalidates your own feelings. My mother raised me with the whole "people have it worse" bs, so i hid my feelings and always told myself to stop complaining, even though i was dealing with a lot of trauma. Yes, people do have it worse, but that has nothing to do with you. Your feelings and experiences are valid, regardless of what the rest of the world is going through.
Anyway, this is truly a masterpiece. You and your team should be proud. You have a furure in film making or script writing.
Very powerful. Sad. I felt so many emotions. Well acted.
Nobody:
Not even a single soul:
Me: Hey! I have that same knife set 😂
Bouleversant. Une souffrance partagée peut lier les survivants. Ces deux jeunes acteurs sont magnifiques.
Some of the best acting I have ever seen
Actors are handsomes, and they made this piece of drama good
I've rarely seen any kissing scene this complicated . It can be as heavy as a whole damn series👏
Hands of to the writer.
Very emotional story. Thank you for sharing this to the world
I had a good friend take his life a few years ago, and i still suffer from survivors guilt. There is never closer because you always feel like you could have done something to prevent it. It feels strange every time I drive by his house.
This was raw, real, beautiful short....
This was wonderful. Such great acting and a powerful story.
Very real, ace acting, true to life...well done and thanks for putting it on film.
I looove their acting. Wow !! Loved this short film 😍💜
Jesse James Rice - This film is a damn fine piece of cinematic work; raw, honest, plausible narrative compelling emotionally for me having been "there" save for the addiction component which came years later, my heart lost in a landscape of regret so excruciating some liquid amelioration needed, now freshly dealt with. Keep pressing forward with your work, it's unvarnished and good.
After watching a few more times I have to say that I am hard pressed to think of another movie, short or full length with such moving, convincing acting. Sean's sorrow and guilt is so palpable you want to hold him. He knows he hurt her catastrophically and there's no way back. Sean's gestures and little inappropriate smiles throughout his confession rings true to me as does their ultimate, you could argue, inappropriate intimacy. They're both desperate for solace and cling to it when offered. Anyway I cannot think of a better acted scene than the confession/intimacy scene in film...period.
Sorry Jesse. Your portrayal was equally moving and thanks for writing and producing such wonderful work of art.

One masterpiece......
I thought it was a great movie it went everywhere I didn't think it would go! It was all over the place but it all made sense at the end. Just an awesome movie! I enjoyed it. DRS.
The subject matter makes this short film painful to watch, but I think that it touches on important topics. I loved the beach shots. Good job and think you for making the film.
What a sad lovely movie. Great acting and script.
Wow!!!!!!! That was amazing on so many different levels!!!!
So many positive comments below and I agree that this film is excellent ! Knocked it out of the ball part !
I love this, beautifully done.
This is a mini masterpiece in so many ways. Bravo to all involved.
This is great audition reel material. Each actor is amazing. ❤
Literally cried
Thumbing through for something that isn't about sweet, poised adolescents being sweet together. Hit this. By the bit with the boat, I was totally home. That's about how well dramatic gestures work for me too. Although you get a good workout throwing stuff.
Super great acting. So genuine . The real thing,!
I liked the performance of both actors, and the final message as well.
Almost like a Sam Shepard play, but with gay protagonists. Really good, despite the necessary slow start.
This film left an aching to know where the story goes.
when he asked if he is going to commit suicide, and then his gut feeling tells him to follow. the feels.
Absolutely Powerful! Bravo!!!!

He kinda looks like Grant Gustin but I find him even more attractive 💕

@@JesseJamesRice what a beautiful story very emotional can’t believe about their sister did all this glad everything turned out well at the end wow they were both kissing 😘 each other how romantic 🥰 their both suite each other I am gay too great movie nice to meet you
Jesse, what I don't see are accolades and awards for "Leanne". Tell me you won some. Most gay themed shorts are either sweet and cute, (boy has unrequited crush on football captain) or ( new boy moves to town and a romance develops). That sort of thing. Your movie was adult, gritty somber and entirely believable. You and David...Christ, your acting was unbelievable. I was totally immersed in the story, amazed at what you'd accomplished in 22 minutes. Keep it up and best of luck to you in the future. Thanks, Bill Berven.
You are welcome! Keep doing the good work!
Amazing, relatable! ♥️
brilliant piece of work
Wow! So powerful.
Holy crap I hadn’t expected that.
Absolutely a wonderful movie. Thanks
Thanks brother. 🌙🎶
Superb acting!
Jesse James Rice, I enjoyed the film, and your acting therein! Thanks very much for posting this on YT!
I love happy ending and I love this film❤❤❤❤
Very strong statement ❤❤❤
Leanne shouldn’t have taken her life that was unfair on her part but 100% she deserves better partner and way better brother. I feel sorry for leanne.
Thank you for the great film.
I'm not crying you're crying!
i loved this but i’m so upset the original song isn’t available anywhere for me to listen to. almost as upsetting as the circumstances this is set in lol. i loved the film thank you.
Yah, without forgiveness We got nothing, something I've learned with this episode
So did I! Wonderful and emotional film! I was moved to tears! "Without forgiveness , we got nothing"
Yes Sir !!
Prince Lidna I'm struggling with my self in Forgiveness , wow iv had a hard childhood and iv had to learn early on , to kick my way up out of the bottom of a whole , that others had me in and tryed to keep me in , as a child 🚸 even back then I realized it wasn't normal , however I'm glad I held onto self-preservation , I allowed it well my instincts with that word , to help me mentally to fight back and make it up out of a dark place , and for many years I refused to look at the word , that now I know holds such Power !!!! , I'm still on a journey of forgiveness , as I'm a lot stronger now and haveing a very quiet spirit about me , iv become much bolder and realize now I do have a voice for others who can not stand upon there own at the time , that I either meet them or know them , somehow it's been a joinery of sharing with someone that night need that privet talk , of encouragement just thankful being a gay bottom , I'm always aware of others , iv only have had two partners in my whole life , and now I'm still hoping that one day I'll get to be around someone very special , that will treat me good and kind , I don't care what he looks like just as long as he's a good man , that means more to me than anything looks are the last thing I'm interested in , I know that's just the outside of a soul , I look at a man's heart and how he carries his self , maybe one day I'll meet someone who has been around me and all at once I BEGAIN to see him with such desires of the heart , and they become close enough with me they become bold , with letting me know what they want
