Lol, men always need a "boost" of the idea of another guy in the picture 😂 Too funny...
Hello 👋how are you doing?
Have you ever considered writing a reselling guide book? You have so well organized reselling business and lots of that knowledge how to run it.
It must have been love, for Karen to take a “break” and talk for hours in a thrift store.😂💓
Personally I think your the best Re-Seller out there. I love your knowledge, kindness and laughter. I look forward to Wednesday and Sunday videos. Your the reason I started selling on Ebay. I saw your videos over 2 years ago and binged watched then started my journey. My first year 2021 was pretty good, 2022 has not been that good for me. But I'm going to make 2023 a great year. I've followed your business model and someday hopefully will have many more items (not as many as you have). THANK YOU!!!!!!
I get all my packing materials for free from a source you might want to look for in your area. Naturopath doctors stock their own pharmacy bcs they prescribe nutritional supplements, vitamins etc that are not available in regular drugstores. These products are mostly in glass bottles which are well packed with lots of padded paper, bubble wrap, styrofoam, etc and of course boxes. The only packing material I buy is tape! I get everything else free from my doctor several times a week. I recommend if your town has a ND, give them a call and ask.
I use a independent natural food store in a small town. They are into recycling and are happy to have me take their packaging. Like you said, the bubble wrap is wonderful for breakable items. Different from the roll of bubble wrap.
@@hettygreen1488 I am wondering if anyone else goes to the trouble of breaking down boxes and reassembling them inside out in order to make a sold item have a better presentation?
Yes, I do this all the time! I sell only hardgoods so most of my packaging is in boxes.
Hi Karen! Yes, please do more of these Q & A Videos :) As i am going through my own journey, I aspire to run my business as successfully as you are .... I would like to know if you do promoted listings ? If so, what percentage ? also, do you list daily or do you just do batches whenever you can ?? Do you have a weekly listing goal ? Thanks again for being YOU :)
Love the story about you and Roger! You two seem like a perfect match. Karen, you are the most organized re-seller I've ever watched. Kudos to you👍
Oh my gosh! I was home schooled. I think it’s so cool you home schooled your kids. It was wonderful for me. I know it’s not ideal for everyone but I truly loved being home schooled. How cool! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love your story and I know hard work effort and integrity took you where you are may God continued to bless you and a bright future for you and Roger 🎉😊
Karen you know I have been around from the beginning and this is by far the best video, I think because you took us down the meeting Roger path again. More detailed but so much fun. And for the record, you can see that Roger is extremely private and shy although I must admit you do have him appearing and giggling more often. Always am in awe of your stamina; you make me tired just watching and listening but your organization is by far the best I have seen . Not feeling well today and you were just what the doctor ordered. You put a huge smile on my face. God bless you both and see you next time.
Kathleen! 💜💜 your encouragement and support is so appreciated!! 💜💜💜💜
Hello Sunny Karen, Please consider more Q & A's for us. I'm sure I speak for those of us who appreciate your positivity and disciplined approach to your occupation and personal life...an inspiration for us in our twice weekly dosage!
Karen, you are my favorite re-seller. I have learned so much from you. Thanks for being so honest and open with us. I agree that you have enjoy life and not push yourself. I'm glad that you know your limit.
💞You're my morning motivation Karen! I would love more of this style video! You have so much wisdom, & willingly share this treasure with us, is priceless!💞 I had a smile plastered on my face, while you told about first meeting Roger, I could feel the sparks from here!🥳 I love coming in to your channel, nothing but treasures here!!!🥳💞🥳
Thanks for answering questions about your personal life. I also homeschooled my four children and prayed about what I was going to do when my youngest child graduated. Thrifting/reselling was the answer. I just love it.
Hi Karen, would you ever consider doing a video about “bad buys” and what you learned from them? As a new-ish reseller, I love seeing all the success but am also curious to hear about things that didn’t work out so well because that can be even more informative! Just a thought. Love your channel.
Liked you answering questions. Very personal, Karen!
I think you are a great example for people: men and women in terms of organization, steadfastness, caring, and honesty.
Hi Karen, I loved this video ! Nice change of pace with the questions and answers. Also I don’t think I’ve ever seen you sit down. Lol. ❤
Lol!😉
😂
Here is an idea for your packing peanuts, seal them in a grocery plastic bag and then take the bags and tuck them around your items, I for one cant stand picking up packing peanuts! so I find this method works great! all you do is grab the bag!
I really enjoyed this format. I realize that it may be time consuming but it is really great that your willingness to be so candid and informative is appreciated. You have such a full day, amazing how you get your many tasks accomplished. Your daughter is amazing, must have learned her work ethic from her mother.
Gosh you are a favorite RUclipsr of mine. I love everything. You make it very enjoyable to watch. You and your family are the sweetest.
I love the Q and A episodes. Love your videos and enjoy watching each and every one of them!!! Lorena, Strasburg, Pa.
Thank you so much for explaining how you ship , pack, and store your inventory, and sharing your business and personal life. Very very organized.
I’m a super fan of your inventory system. Randomly mixing items into bins with numerically ordered bins makes my head hurt. Your ‘analog’ system is so smart ❤
I like your question and answer videos more than anything. . Wish you would do more of those and make it the entire video.
I have a question. Do you get a lot of returns with selling clothes? I am starting to sell more clothes but don't want to have to do returns. I am a no return seller but Ebay will sometimes make us take returns regardless of our selling policies.
Blessed L ady! You just get more and more beautiful... loves the Lord, very hardworking, voice of velvet, and loves to laugh! I can feel the stress melting off me, as I listen to and watch you. You and Roger are a beautiful couple, yes, he IS easy on the eyes!!! I love your content most because it is wholesome. Thankyou for your Godly example.
Thank you so much!💜
Really enjoyed this video, Karen! Informative and interesting. I really like what you do and how you do it. I'm a reseller myself, same age. You are inspiring. And you surround yourself with wonderful people too.
I loved that blue and pink shirt men's. Yes, I loved the questions and answers part of the show.
I have never been bored with any of your videos.
Not really into the questions part but love watching you pull orders. I like to see the profit you make off each item. You definitely run a top notch business.
Yes do more of sitting, chatting and answering questions. Very enjoyable.
Good Morning. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I ran a Black Friday-Saturday sale as well. I have good luck with nightgowns and PJs as well as union suits. Can't keep the red long underwear on the shelf.
Hi, Karen. I love how you photograph men’s shirts, and wondered how you get the arms looking so neat. I can see they are on a hanger, but wondered if it is a flat lay?
Hello how are you doing?
Can you go over your shopping process? Show us how you ship a sweater for instance. Do you have a label machine? How do you know how much to shop for etc? Then do you take it to the post office?
I love this style of video, because I can have you playing in the background while I work. I like the other's, too, but I have to sit in front of my screen to watch. Because I HAVE to watch! LOL
Hello how are you doing?
Enjoyed your Q & A session. Especially your early career experiences. Fitness career makes sense as you look wonderful! Would love to have another sit down and chat session.
Would you consider making a video on how you store your shipping boxes?
Thank you for another great video ❤!
Hello how’re you doing?
Love the Q&A part of the video!... my question is, what is your schedule like in a typical week? Would love to know how you manage your time doing shopping, listing, shipping, etc. And how much time a day you allow for each task.
Would also like to know this! “A day in the life”
Hi Karen. For your next Q&A... what happened in your first marriage? What did your 1st husband do for a living? Do you have any siblings?
Thank you so much for being you. You are a delightful human ☺️
I'm slowly going back and watching all of your videos and just watched this one today. I love this format and hope you do more of them! Thanks!
Yes on the sit down and talk time!
I would love to see how you organize your schedule . Lists ect.. love your channel 🎉
You look absolutely stunning in the Q and A. Eggplant is YOUR color!!
I would love more Q&A videos, but without the extra content. With the first half of the video being you pulling stuff for shipping, I almost turned it off thinking it was a mislabeled video...
I don't know how I missed this video, but I just watched it for the first time. I love that you took time to answer questions and tell us about yourself. But I had to laugh about you and Roger living together (in a warehouse) knowing that you're currently expanding your house so you can live together. 😂 Love you both and appreciate all you've taught me!!! Thank you so much ❤
I am from Pottstown I have been tomost goodwill stores you show makes me home sick I now live in va most of my home is thrifted love you chanel
Enjoyed this type of video.
Hello how are you doing?
good morning...you are so well organized...so relaxing watching your videos
Please do more Q and A, loved it!
Hi Karen! Thanks for the great info! I’m a new seller at 73! You and I are a lot alike in that we are a bit perfectionist! I learn so much watching you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being out there to help!!!❤
You amaze me. And you remind me of my Aunty. She did the same as you. It is so weird-you look a lot like her. She was a stunning woman. She would jump in her van-drive from Michigan to Florida, hitting every auction house, yard sale all the way. Then visit w me for a week or so, we hung out at the beach, ate Greek food In Tarpon Springs, then she would head back north doing the same. She was my fav and I was hers. I started almost a year ago, reselling and it didn’t dawn on me what the hell she did, until I found your channel. She called herself a dealer. And eBay wasn’t even thought of. And computers were just coming out. Karen, she found a Roger too. His name wasn’t Roger, but he treated her like the Queen she was. Bawling my eyes out, rn. Hope I haven’t creeped you out. I just had to tell you. Thank you Karen❤❤
Enjoyed this personal segment. Thanks for sharing.
Love it when you said, "may one day live in a barn." I lived in PA for about 8 months four years ago so I have seen those beautiful huge barns. ♡ PA & I made such sweet friends while there.
Thank you for your educational & fun videos.
Very much enjoy the Q and A and the shopping and the pulling out the treasures in basement and the learning clothes.
Hello how’re you doing?
Love hearing the story of how you and Roger met, thanks for sharing!
Hi how are you doing?
I love hearing your story. It's very similar to mine. I really like the question and answer format. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Very impressive in how you take care of the items. I have enjoyed watching your videos. M
I really enjoyed the Q & A. I like getting to know the people I am spending my time watching. Although personalities come through in the videos, it’s nice to know more about the person attached to that personality, if that makes sense? I appreciate the time you take to share your business, yourself & your family with us. It makes you my top reseller to watch. I enjoy your organization (I can’t do chaos) & the effort you put into your business. Thank you so much!! xo
Hi Karen, thanks for sharing where you get packing/shipping materials. I use the same sources but have one more to add for your viewers. I buy 20x30 plain white tissue paper from Store Supply Warehouse. The quality is really good and their price is better than Amazon. 480 sheets for under $20 plus shipping.
Thank you for this! Just checked them out - they are cheaper than where I've been getting mine. Next time I order, will be giving them a try :)
Great tip! Thanks so much, I placed an order with them 💜 I was using Costco ( much less expensive) but I didn’t see that they had tissue paper this year
Love this format! You are such a treasure to the reselling world. Thank you for sharing with us. I have a question. For the breakable items, in which you double box, or use the cardboard (example the senate glasses you sold - how did you provide the shipping cost to the buyer in the listing before you boxed it up) etc, how do you estimate the weight in order for the customer to know the shipping costs. Since you do not pre=box your items, i was wondering how you manage the shipping cost.
Hello from Germany :-))) We don`t have free shipping supplies here ....So I only list the item when I have the box for it :-)
Hello how are you doing?
Karen, you truly are a beautiful light sent from God! You are such a joy to watch/listen to😊 keep on going out & getting what's yours! Please do some more of this question and answer videos. It was fun!
Thank you so much!
Hey Karen I love this video! Hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving ♥️♥️
Well that was just awesome❤ I love you, Karen! So hard-working but and with grace and a big beautiful smile. I triple love your “meet cute” with Roger and I’m picturing some gorgeous 5 acre plot in rural Pennsylvania where you each have your own barns for inventory and you get married on the grounds. And I want an invitation💜😘🙏🏻
Kelly! 💜💜💜 both you and Miss Busy would of course, be invited 😂
@@lavenderclothesline 🙏🏼💜🙏🏼
This video was a lot of fun Karen. I learn a lot from you & also enjoy getting to know you. Thank you for taking the time to answer questions! I always look for you when I'm in the Lancaster area!!
Hello how’re you doing?
Show us how you fold your men's collared shirts with tissue paper? They seem very firm in the bag and look perfect.
I enjoyed you video as always. It is great that you and Roger found each other. Thank you for sharing your story. I liked that you took the time to sit down and answer some questions and you mentioned that if there is question that we had to put it down in the comments. I have one and that is how do you decide what price to ask for your items? Also, could you maybe do some more videos of thrifting for your clothes you sell ? Thank you and look forward to your next question and answer video.
Enjoyed this Vlog .You have a beautiful home ! .Maybe a house tour ? X
Please explain how you determine pricing and include shipping costs. I am enjoying your RUclips videos. You are so knowledgeable. Thank you for sharing.
I don’t include shipping, the buyer pays
Ships Lanterns: since we live in an old port town, we see a lot of the large original vintage and antique Port and Starboard lanterns at Estate Auctions. Unlike the decor pieces, the real ones make very good money, but you spend up to acquire them.
I love all the info u give, love your thrifting and your ques ans sesh thx
So happy to hear how you meet Roger…… I knew it was at Goodwill….so there is hope for me in Goodwill store since feel like I live there.❤❤😊
I save those hard tubes from my bubble wrap as well and I use them for like my swung vases and anything that's delicate that will fit into them.
Thank you for the wonderful content. When I worked at a mortuary, there were plenty of free boxes large and small. Office supply boxes, boxes for urns, and finally large boxes for coffins. The large boxes were perfect for making my own box for tennis racquets. Just cut them down.
Good morning Karen! Looking great!
love you channel.I have wacth other but you are the best I have wanting do thrifting myself. just retire and need to make extra money. Thanks a lot
I wish all eBay sellers packed as well as you do. You care about your customers. The first time I bought coffee cups on eBay the box arrived with one item broken and the other item in the box with almost no packaging to protect it. The seller did a very poor job packaging my purchase.
Liked this very much. You answered most of the things I was curious about.
I enjoyed your answering questions and to be honest, watching you cut bushes, tending to your yard, shopping, it’s all good. Just enjoy watching someone who seems to be a lovely person. Thank you!
I can't get over how clean, neat and organized your basement store is! I do watch a couple other channels, but NONE of them can compare to you! Continue what you do. I always look forward to your videos.
Ohhh we love this Goodwill's love story 😂❤️🤩
Lowe's on Thursdays in the Paint department. I get my small to medium boxes. Sometimes good sizes for baseball hats. Cheaper than USPS Priority Mail boxes, saves the customer money and makes my item more affordable to ship. I would as the Paint Department salesperson for permission to take them. This person might not mind because it's less carboard they will have to dispose of.
DUPLEX! You and Roger in one side, inventory in the other! ;-)
Good chat time!
I absolutely love all your videos. The pulling and packing are my favorites. Now I have another favorite to add. I’m getting ready to retire in a few years and plan in this to supplement my retirement income.
Hi how are you doing?
Karen I am a new subscriber and you have my interest so much that I am now binge watching your Channel. I am so happy for you and Roger. I knew from the beginning that you two should be together. We all love a love story. Thanks for yours.
Janet! Thank you so much for watching and your kind words!
Thanks for teaching us.
I would love to see a photo of your son . Do you get to spend any time with him? Your girls are so precious!
Thanks for sharing all your finds!
Watching you and Roger has made me more open to dating in my later years. I'm 58 and I am dating now for the first time in over 20 years.
Now that is love, Roger was going to push you in the cart of the thrift to keep you from the puddles, that reminds of the comic strip "Love is" , so sweet.
Enjoyed this type of video. Thanks
I did enjoy the variety of this video, a bit of packing and talking. Your (outward) calmness and focus inspires me!👍👏🤗
I did like this video with answers.
Great video, Karen, as usual! We really appreciate your willingness to allow us into your professional business and personal life!
I have some questions regarding how you structure your Sales in terms of how many items you are discounting at any given time? How long do you run your Sales?
By what percentage do you typically discount your Sale items?
How do you select which items you're putting On Sale?
How do you gauge the pricing on your items so that you get the most return on your cash outlay for your products when you put them into a Sale and are taking a price reduction?
Is the Sale Price on an item the amount that you actually want to realize for it?
Do you put your items On Sale right out of the gate, or do they start out in your store at a higher price initially and THEN after awhile you put them On Sale?
Does every item go On Sale eventually?
(My nemesis has always been PRICING! Just figuring out my ROI is tough for me without trying to factor in a sales discount on top of that...!)
If you have a SYSTEM that you use for sales/ pricing that you'd be comfortable divulging I'd love to try to understand it!
Hello how are you doing?
Yes, I really enjoyed your question and answer segment. Of course, the entire video was fun!
Love you sharing how you run your business and the real life stuff. I love seeing how you've organized your basement and set up your photo room. I aspire to be at this level one day. I have 2 more years until retirement from a quite mentally demanding job. So I have been practicing a small scale through Facebook Marketplace trying to sell alot of my business clothing and shoes, etc. It's hit or miss but I have seen sales consistintly increasing. Thanks for opening you process to us.
Yes, Karen I enjoyed your chat with us.
I like this video. It shows you care to share yourself with us. Thank you so much for sharing and showing us that you are a everyday person. God bless you and have a wonderful day.
Karen, Thank you so much for your vulnerability. I hope to be where you are in a matter of 5-10 years. I love seeing the different things that appeal to each of us thrifters! It helps me realize that there's no such thing as market saturation. It was so helpful to learn how you handle the back end of your business. While I know it can be exhausting, you always have a nice smile and demeanor for us. Like I said, you're my thrifting superhero. Thanks for sharing! 🤗👍
So organised amazing
Karen is the Queen of Organization!
