Here I am thinking about negative people and quickly realize that may be me! Oh, Lord, change me and help me. I thought I was positive and godly. I repent. Help me to see people thru Your eyes. Help me to be a blessing to others. Thank You, Jesus.
I was a positive person until I got very sick, and dealt with severe illness for several years. I had most of my friends abandon me with no explanation, but some stayed and encouraged me all the way through. Those friends knew I was not a negative person, and that I was in severe pain and depressed because of it and the immobility and embarrassment. Recovering from chronic illness I saw who my real friends were, but also how God used them to encourage me through it. What I want to make clear here is that ignoring the negative person isn't the right approach, unless it is leading you to sin for some reason. That person needs a listening ear and encouraging word. They need someone to walk with them, as scripture teaches to share in one another's burdens. Don't look at the surface issue of negativity and look deeper at what might really be happening so you can figure out how to best love them. A lot of times someone listening and sharing scripture and positive encouraging words snaps that person out of it. But some people may take a long walk alongside them as they heal.
Thank you for your beautiful response. I struggle with a lot of things in my life and am very hard on myself. I listen to my friends and I pray for each of their situations. I rarely share my own personal struggles because they don't have ears to listen or really care to know. When I do share, understanding and empathy would be helpful and prayers would be appreciated the most. God says we are to love our enemies but the world tells us to stop having contact with anyone who isn't positive all the time. Your answer is pleasing to God and has blessed me in many ways. Thank you! ❤️ I pray you are feeling well now and God bless you!
It was mentioned in the video that we should pray for negative people in question. Would you guys also be able to give an in-depth answer on "How does one give/leave something to God?" or "How does one entrust their problems to God?"
My question is how to deal with positive people? I’m a realist and often get referred to as negative, but I look at things as they are or will be based on circumstances, tools and such.
I would agree there are people who display, or try to display, being positive without adequate thought. The only reason to be positive in everything is because Jesus will one day come and put everything right. Otherwise, treat such people pretty much the same as the negative.
Saying things like "im a realest" or "I see things as they are" is not accurate. You do not ever perfectly know what anything is. That is just what you tell yourself. This may come from pride so tread carefully with that mentality. While there may be people who are somewhat ignorant you need to learn not to deal in the extremes pf thinking. Sorry but you are not the realist you perceive yourself to be. You have a perspective based upon your limited understanding of something and they do as well. Dont be a scoffer.
I so appreciate the points being made here. It's frustrating to be perceived as a negative person by a "Polly-Anna" type believer. They don't help make your load lighter, but rather heavier.
@@BigGirthyJohnson Perhaps I should clarify. In no way do I see myself as someone who perceives all reality correctly. That would be taking my comment to an extreme.
Im a rather disagreeable person. Some of the issues with this is it can easily blind you to overly focusing on the negative problematic nature of things. There is a balance to this no doubt. While we may be quick to discern possible issues with things we can find yourself lacking core positive thoughts as well. Its complex no doubt. Dont be a jerk OR an enabler to evil. Correct problems with humility, not with a sword of the mouth. Dont go around defeating people even more than sin already has. Build others up with love, understanding, and patience, as God does for us.
But what do you do when the pastor say he prays for God to remove negative people from around him keep negative from being his presence? I think that's ungodly of a leader. Pray for me.
