People really do not understand how treacherous the city of Detroit is, has been, and will be.
Most cities have a majority of suburban areas with a few ghetto hoods but it’s the other way around in Detroit sad how the mayor and governor has let it go on for decades

@@imissme8313 I've been wearing them since like 2015 I had the woods now I have some c decor acitate vintage frame from 91. I paid $2700 fory current pair. I live on the south side. I used to wear them daily but really only pull em out when I'm dressing up or for something special. I wear my wires daily. You definitely need to keep a gun with you when wearing them. Especially as a half white/ Hispanic I get stares like crazy. No one has tried me yet thankfully but if it happens I stay ready for it. I think the closest I've came is when I was by a friends on 46th n center at that lil corner store someone was like begging to let them see em but one I unzipped my sweater they seen I had that 30 on me and dropped it lol. I've just been wearing them for long enough to know now. Im not rich I saved to be able to buy mine and if I were to lose them I couldn't just go grab another pair tomorrow so I know to care for my shit. The c decor frames I have now I looked for over a year for the specific pair and drove to hutch in Michigan for them. Their a discontinued marbled purple. You rarely see them. Its funny I actually keep them with all the original paperwork/box in a ziplock bag in my safe lol. I wear them maybe once a week if I'm feeling good. But normally I wear a vintage gold wire Gucci frame that I got from vintage Jules. I paid $800 for them. The best thing you can do when you start collecting vintage eyewear or expensive glasses is get insurance. All Cartier frames can be added to your insurance. And for $20 a month if their stolen or broken you can get them replaced. Any jewelery you can add to your homeowners or renters insurance. I also keep my paperwork on them and get an appraisal whichever one shows a higher value give to your insurance.
So ridiculous. There’s bigger things in life then Cartier sunglasses. Just shows how weak a human can get. Always stay aware of your surroundings and carry heavy.
This is the very reason when I bought my first pair of Cartier, I purposely avoided the "buffs" and the "woods".

In high school, working part time, I remember seeing other people my age working at the same places making probably less than $200 a week yet still spend months worth of their money for some bit of status or something. Same mindset in the ghetto I'd imagine.

Buffs is a status symbol in Detroit. Most of big time drug dealers wore them. But they became a target or easy lick or come up. Mf would still ride downtown just to snatch a pair of carties. They would set mf up. What it about is the value of real carties. They would snatch them wear them and then sale them.
I wanted some cartiers cause they look cool, I was thinking the actual lenses were special somehow though. Seems like people mainly pay extra for the frames themselves rather than the lenses, I'm better off buying some ray bans if I want some quality lenses that look fresh without paying for all the extra stuff
The lenses are a higher grade then what would be in some Ray-Bans. But you can put high end lenses in any frames, I have both Cartier frames and Gucci frames, I wear the Cartier on special occasions but the Gucci pair has the same lenses that the cartiers have. When you get your lenses made you can expect to pay anywhere from 300-700 depending on engravings, cuts and polish. People wear the cartiers more because the amount of customization is endless with the lenses.

People shouldn't be getting killed for luxury sunglasses, I loved them cause they are stylish. The past 5 years I've been buying 2 every year and have 12 Cartier sunglasses now and a few Tom Fords and Fendi and my co-worker was saying on Detroit people are taken out over those sunglasses. In new york city and Maryland no one pays attention to me or care what sunglasses you have.
