    Excellent review and great series. I heard the bluetooth module and related applications weren't worth it so I never tried them. I used my phone and the Gaia GPS app (which is great for hiking and other outdoor uses) for the first couple of years. Eventually sprang for a Garmin. I like the Gaia app better. Which you could get that in a stand alone device. My two biggest gripes about my Scrambler is that off road pro resents every time you switch off the bike. More than once I've caught myself in the middle of a creek with traction control screwing me over just because I forgot to put it back in off road mode. The other is the service interval light. Having to buy an app (I use ECUTune and my phone) to turn off the service light is ridiculous if you do you own oil changes and such (which your videos helped us less capable beings handle). Keep on Scramblin'!

      Excellent points! I do think the Bluetooth is worth it, if only for the music controls which I use a lot on long trips, but other than that there’s a bit of work to be done to make it worthwhile. Also the traction control issue is a good point - and could be solved pretty easily with software I think, so fingers crossed Triumph might see this one day 😅

      @@lifeofascrambler No, the BT module is not worth it. Not at all. There are two things I hate about this bike. The first is keyless go and the second one is the BT module. It's unreliable, and even if it works, it works bad.
      Navigation: only works with the triumph navigation app, which lacks many essential features and also needs to run in foreground to work at all.
      Music: It works this way: You pair the phone with the scrambler and the comm system as well. Now you can control the music with the scrambler. BUT this degrades quality because it's two bluetooth steps. You also can't take your phone and walk away from the bike without loosing connection - because the bike is looped in.
      GoPro Integration: That would have been nice. I even bought a gopro hero 7, because that's the latest model this module officially supports. Well - most of the time it doesn't connect. And it takes longer to reconnect the scrambler and the gopro than it takes to take off the helmet and turn the gopro on/off.
      Long story short: I think it's wasted money and I haven't seen any development in the app or the module in the last year. I do consider asking my dealer to remove it again. Because while it's installed I have more unusable than usable layers to navigate through on the screen.

    Awesome video, thank you! Echoing what others have said - my main gripe is that you can't start the bike in Off Road mode. Seems insane that this didn't get caught by Triumph earlier. It's already bad enough that you have to be stopped in order to engage it - nothing like telling all your friends to wait for you when the road turns to dirt so you can stop your fancy British bike to change modes. Haha

      That’s a great point and I assume shouldn’t be too hard to fix?! I’m wondering, do the BMW’s or other bikes with traction control have the need to stop when you turn it off?!

      No don’t have one yet. Im beetween a T9RP and a beautyfull XC. Allready made a Short Testride with the scrambler. The size of the Bike Seems Perfect for me. But i am a bit concerned due to the Lack of weather Protection and (much more) the robustness in Winter conditions. Dealer said: salty roads? „no Problem“

    • @lifeofascrambler
      @lifeofascrambler Год назад +1

      @@StKlug nice! I can't speak to riding in snowy conditions, BUT I have ridden mine through a bunch of salty water along the beach a lot, and as long as you prepare before by spraying silicon on your underside and bolts, it comes off with no problems. I have had one or two rusty bolts appear in some places but it's mostly around the exhaust because it heats up and cools down so much - which also encourages rust, so I replaced them for a few dollars and its fine!

    Triumph did not fix the heat problem in the second gen. I even put an insulation kit on and it helped a tiny bit but on a hot day especially when riding slower speeds on back dirt roads it gets really uncomfortable. When you stand it puts your leg right into it as well. Kevlar jeans help but it still isn't great.

      Thanks! I went with the standard bar mount, with the vibration dampener and weatherproof wireless charging head. I have seen someone mention water ingress into the TFT, in the Facebook group - go to the group and search “poll” or “TFT” and you might find the other people that have the problem, or you could ask a question in the group?
