    Who else is also insanely impressed by Chepngetich’s pacer who’s able to comfortably run a 2:10 marathon and could’ve run for a top 5 finish himself but instead dedicates his race to help RC break the world record!? 👍

    Unbelievable 30.15 10K is just 15 seconds outside women's only WR. HM 64.16 is the fastest HM of this year. Incredible!! Second half 65.42 is the fastest ever in women's marathon. USA Z Panning men's ran second half 66.56 , C Albertson second half 64.57 and she finished ahead of all other USA pro runners. Stupendous!!

    This is a ridiculously big improvement at those levels. I think it's in the same ballpark of shocking as Warholm's 400mh WR improvement was.
    Or about equivalent to a male runner going for 1:56-1:57 suddenly.

    This translates to a 13:32 5K time. The current women's World Record for 5K is 14:13. She went through the halfway mark only 10 seconds slower than her half marathon personal best! Pretty sure, she injected rocket fuel on the start line.

    That can't be right!! It's just an absurd time. You have to really wonder how a woman could run a pace faster than 5:00/mile (4:48 pace). It's faster than 3:05/km. Try running 1 km in 3:05. It's very hard. Try running 42 of them in a row without stopping. Try being a woman and doing that. I can't quite comprehend how she did this. She was 10th overall beating all but 9 of the men, and all but 2 of the U.S. male runners! And then she was running up and down the spectators area with her flag with the energy you might see from somebody who just started the race ... not from someone who just finished at this insane pace. The number of Kenyan runners with failed drug tests in recent years certainly makes you wonder about performance. I hope she is a clean athlete, but I have my doubts.

    16th october 2024. I'm calling it.
    This was 1000000% dirty. No way on earth that was clean.
    She has been an elite for years yet wiped MINUTES off her pb..
    Her first half was the 5th fastest women's hm time in history and her second half 13th fastest.
    She couldn't run a hm in those times for years and now put two of them back to back on a day when conditions were not even ideal for racing.
    90 kenyans are currently serving sentences for doping..
    Nothing irrefutable but dollars to donuts this is not legit

      Kenyans have always run a clean sports, but some greedy coaches from abroad want to taint the image of Kenyans athletes by injecting them with banned substances, otherwise Kenya is athletic power house in the world, this girl is my neighbor and we celebrate such incredible performance.

    • @marknorris1381
      @marknorris1381 3 месяца назад

      Yes, Kenyan's have been the target of unscrupulous individuals putting PED's in their drinks without their knowledge. Like many other athletes around the world who return positive tests and say it was in their sun tan lotion they rubbed on without knowing. All very plausible.

    This feels weird and impossible... how can a woman run a marathon in 2:10!!?? Just 10 minutes above the world record for man! And she can still stand and walk!!!!! I am sorry but i have doubts about her performance being clean🤔 even a performance of tadej pogacar(the best cyclist) is less impressive than what she did...hmmmm suspicious. I hope she is clean of course

    • @beansandrunning
      @beansandrunning 3 месяца назад +6

      The difference between women and men is not as big in endurance as it is for speed or strength. We dont know if she is clean, but it is very much expectable that the women record will be broken multiple more times in the close future, as women marathon was less sponsered historically.

      The distance between men and womens marathon WR has been about 11 to 13 min in the last 2 decades.
      Only since Radcliffe the womens field has become stronger and more competitive.
      A lot more promising runners around that for the moment jusr have run the half marathon or 10K.
      Assefa and Hassan did not start in Chicago this year. She probably would have not been alone in the front.
      Chicago is a very fast and teh weather was really good for the first 2 hours of the race.
