I tested almost every melee weapons with a scattershot kantrel and its a beast on every build. I don't even feel it's broken tho because you always trade almost all mid to long range effectiveness doing so. It's like a all in on melee to close range build. I hope they don't change this. I really like the mechanic that one weapon can have synergie with the rest of your kit and wished we had more in this game.
Seeing the build in action, at least key moments, does help put how the different talents work together and why certain weapon choices matter. It's the context that holds it all together. Your offense redeemer build looks like something I'll try out. I've been running an eviscerator martyrdom build lately, which has been a ton of fun. But I do love my thunder hammer, I just haven't found a build that lets me enjoy it to its fullest.
You got just enough gameplay info in here to illustrate what you needed to. I like this format but I suppose I'm biased because I like formulating builds like this that take a fair bit of specific perks but there's enough wiggle room to come up with multiple builds. I had put together a rather nifty Psyker build in a similar fashion to what you've done with Zealot here that features a few points moved around to allow a variety of weapons to shine.
I also love your narration of the class tree while seeing the builds up front is cool the showing of the hammer shotgun in play while narrating brought it to life I will be trying these builds today! Thanks again
The added flavour during the skill choices is epic :D it also is a much better, digestible way of seeing the talent choices compared to other vids, good job!
Thanks for putting links to the GamesLantern builds. It's easier than trying to find the right part of the video again. It also means I can search on your name and get all your builds at once in one place. Top notch.
it was only a portion of the video but I really enjoyed the talent selection narrative, one of my favorite things about Warhammer is the lore. Thank you for putting in the time to do that!
Glad you enjoyed it! It's always interesting to see how I can string together a narrative from a bunch of Talent, rather than just telling you something you can already read about!
@@rykenxivEviserator is currently bugged after latest patch. The special attack deals less damage than a standard attack. May be worth mentioning in build guides, to keep away from using the special until it's fixed
I can't thank you enough for this, I was struggling with the zealots I was able to find my playstyles with all the others class without having to look up anything I really just went with what I enjoyed and it works on damnation so i'm quite happy but for Zealots I had no clue of what I was supposed to do, what weapons to use, perk to pick. Huge thanks!
Very cool! Looking forward to trying these builds! In regards to the gameplay portion of your vids, you do a fantastic job of explaining the choices you've made for the build, and give good reasons as to why your choices impact the game the way you want them to. So instead of watching you kick ass I want to go try the build myself and see how it matches or challenges my play-style. Great work on the narrative too! It's charming and it's a good way to link all the perk choices. Love your work, mate.
I was thrilled through your "convocation" as you went through the talent tree. Weaving the talent names into the narrative as it were. You earned a sub my friend!
I loved the talent narration part; clever and well done! I also like the idea of having a video focused on the build and a second video showing gameplay and your thought process when playing the build.
Very cool hammer/shotgun interaction! I love it when things click together :) I personally do not miss the gameplay section, but come to think of it, gameplay tips such as attack combos for the weapons the build uses might be a valuable addition.
The trailer was good. Sorry you got sick. Hope you're recovering. The build only videos works for me with visual example of what you're taking about is helpful and works for me. The gameplay of a whole mission could be its own video if you wan to upload them. They are nice and helpful in their own way, but I see a whole match vs a detailed build video as separate themes or focuses anyways. If doing and uploading a whole mission in addition to the build is effort and time that you'd rather focus on elsewhere, do that. I also just gameplay videos.
Yeah i feel the build centric video is good. You have enough gameolay interspersed throughout the video to demonstrate how the build plays. Very cool build and video. Great job on this one.
I've been playing the eviscerator w/ the revolver and I love it. It has that shotty/snipes feel while being a constant boon to your team which on damnation into auric is extremely useful. Learning when to pop it, either as crowd control for a res or to give teammates a second to breath, or defense buff or all of the above has been really fun and rewarding. Picked the judge voice actor and he fits the redeemer vibe very well. Ty for the great build guide!
I can't believe how much you squeezed into just 12 minutes! Really fun, as always. Totally happy for the gameplay to be seperate content, the guides are what I think most of us want to see, and the way you deliver it is entertaining in itself. Thank you for the obviously extremely hard work you put in!
I really enjoyed this breakdown and explanation. I'm very happy with the Eviscerator build, I wasn't able to conjure one on my own that felt this smooth. I hate using Martyrdom so I'm happy to see non-martyrdom solutions for the hammer and heavy evis
I’ve never been into using the Eviscerator, but with this build it’s super fun and has great horde clear. Thanks! I’m keeping this build on my list! Edit: I’m ok with you taking away the full gameplay so long as you have some in the background. I don’t usually watch the full gameplay anyways. The video gets to be too long and I don’t usually have 30+ mins to watch YT.
Holy crap i needed this. My melee builds for Zealot are struggling on Heresy. Despite being doable, my Zealot had to be on point since I kept trying to make a super strong fury charge + hammer build with no good perks or understanding of most perks. Constantly switching from flak+carapace/maniac, to upgrading new hammers and allocating points just made it too confusing in the end. Now, with your video and breakdown. I have builds, an understanding, and a bonus of getting to use my eviscerator
thanks man. been looking for builds to use the cooler weapons and not lose out on being well rounded on zealot. Been using a meta Turtolsky heavy sword build for damnation but definitely gonna try these out.
I like to see the gameplay so I can see how everything fits together, and it's fun to see people who are good at the game doing their thing. But of course it's your video and you have to do the work, so always do what's best for you 😊
Im fairly new to darktide and warhammer in general and have been using this video to get me of an insight to zealot builds, currently trying to play a mix of both builds mainly going the more offensive route but using the weapons from both (except the pistol) hammers are pretty fun but ive been liking the eviscerator trying saw everyone in sight and it seems to pair well with the shotgun once youve set everything on fire. I just need to get the right blessings and sort the perk tree out and i think it’ll be very strong
I was running a build really similar to this, but the revolution that the bleed and burn dot, can apply brittleness is a game changer. That’s really awesome
While I can say I know quite a number of cool interactions for Zealot talents and weapons, that shotgun X Thunder Hammer interaction is next level. Don't think I will personally use it since I'm a Chorus + Evis enjoyer, but understanding the shotgun burn + bleed affecting melee blessings is amazing knowledge to take away. Amazing video, keep up the great content!
To apply Thunderous through DOT and active Fury Rising by Scattershot are some eye-opening ideas for me, time to examine all the weapons again to apply it on other weapons/builds You are doing a godsend job as always, appreciate for all your hard works
Really liked your vids from the beginning on and the quality really improved! Especially the smooth integration of the talents into the script combined with a bit of lore style narration. Just one note, when the like this vid starts and I want to get hyped about purging the heretics, saxophone music is not the soundtrack I am looking for XD So maybe change the background music to darktide soundtrack or something more sinister or just leave it out, your narration is fine enough! =) Keep it up
I tried using an alt-fire Kantrael shotgun with the bleed blessing and didn't notice much difference personally, didn't think it stacked in the end. Cool build, I like the thought that went into it and it's nice to see that blessing get used properly.
For the Evicerator. Try these combos. PushAttack, Heavy, Light, Light, PushAttack It's all horizontal attacks, and it loops into itself. Another one, Push, Light, Light Gives a quick double overhead on a slightly pushed/stunned enemy.
I love the narrative and I love the 2H chainsword support build. Even if I still think immolation grenade are better than stun nade in combination to the relic.horde with rager and mauler, pack of dog, just throw the fire nade at your feet, use the relic and watch all those powerless heretic burn at your feet.
Pretty creative use with the shotgun + crits, might have to try it out. I'm not much of a thunderhammer user, might use the maul or some axe instead tho. Also the dopamine I got seeing 4 plasteel pickups at 10:30
Thank you for your guides. I really like your narrative way of explaining the spec. I also like the gameplay itself although I understand that you shortened the video. How much more effort would it be, if you just upload a seperate video of your run with any build you explained - even without any narration. Just a gameplay combat demonstration? :) Have a nice day!
Been using this build since basically when the skill tree update hit. The evisc or the heavy sword can get back your ult so fast. You can boop bosses and elites/specials, get free pickups or avoid someone going down in the first place so easily
Thoughts on taking Duelist? +50% weakspot and crit damage on successufl dodge. You'd have to drop either thy wrath be swift (melee doesnt stagger), shield of contempt (60% dr on hit), purge the unclean (+20% dmg infested and unyielding). But as you'll be dealing lots of crits and also taking the dance of death dodge it could pair well.
An interesting thing I found out about Flechette. I spent over 2 million ordo dockets (plus plasteel and diamantine) trying to get this blessing on my level 30 character with no success. I had to log on to my level 20 and the first 5 I bought gave it to me twice. So if you don't have this I recommend not wasting your ordo dockets as it seems nearly impossible to get if you are a level 30. At least I got some good mod rolls out of it I guess.....
WHEN HE LISTED THE TALENTS LIKE THAT 🗣🗣 I only wish I could have a zealot build with Invocation, THammer, and Flamer. I honestly miss some of the flamer perks from the old Zealot abilities
Interesting video! unfortunately I don't have the flechette blessing or a good thunder hammer with the option to rebless into thunderous. I will still give the hammer build a try! the eviscerator one is great too, I have a similar one in use and it is one of my favorites.
The narrative style was a nice change, however I personally felt that there was too much emphasis when naming the related skill. Just having it in a normal tone and bringing the talent up as you say it should be fine. Overall I enjoyed it, and the technical aspects of the build really intrigue me. Will have to try this in a bit, thank you!
And there's me, trying to use a flamer + eviscerator, running prayers, and taking daggers because otherwise i'm oh so vulnerable to long-mid range specials. But i refuse to leave my flamer home.
You could put the gameplay in an unlisted video and leave a link to it in the description, tho thats just my thought, havent done youtube for like 4 years, so idk how stuff works now
@rykenxiv Love watching your videos and they're a great help. I'm just checking if you have an updated video on the veterans? See it was my first class and I really enjoyed the class but now going back to it after finishing my Ogryn, I'm feeling like something is missing. Not sure if its the weapons or the perks I've chosen. So any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Just saying Devils claw is dope asf with some crit in it. Been using andecent roll for my zealots critelcentral build. Can get both shred and Rampage. Out preforms alot of weapons at max blessings effects.
That Hammer build interaction with the shotgun is actually really clever and interesting, thanks for the builds!
Watch it get hot fixed in a couple of days

Perfect timing, just got my zealot up to level 30 and was trying to get builds just like these, cheers!
The core talent narrative was badass, made this a truly superior guide
I was thrilled through your "convocation" as you went through the talent tree. Weaving the talent names into the narrative as it were. You earned a sub my friend!
I appreciate your poetic focus when writing up your videos. Beautiful.
Thank you so much 😊

This video is a lifesaver, just returned to the game and I have no idea what’s going on
Nice builds. I enjoy the eviscerator/support one a lot and run that when i fancy running something other than my cheese stealth/dagger build.
As a new follower of these build guides I believe less time showing off every interaction between items is better for the flow.
I love this guide! Thanks!

Beautiful tutorial, love the narrative style.
playing since last month, bigger channels out there but found no better than this one for darktide
Going to try to use the Thunder Hammer build with a few tweaks. Starting to love the Blades of Faith and really shines with slow weapons.
Awesome writing dude that was good shit!!!

Love the guide besides the long description of the talentpercs. Would like to still see gameplay but I think as a separated video linked to this one.
Ty! I'm excited to try this!
Pretty creative use with the shotgun + crits, might have to try it out. I'm not much of a thunderhammer user, might use the maul or some axe instead tho.

Glad you like them!
That's something I'll look into!

I like the narrative build only focus.
Guide was solid. Don't need to fluff with too much gameplay/full run.
"The cooler you look, more damage you deal"
Can only agree with that
Babe wake up new Ryken build video just dropped!
1:08 did you just trigger the bloody chainsaw animation on an explosive barrel? 🤣
Like I said - there are enemies within and without - even in the barrels!
An interesting thing I found out about Flechette. I spent over 2 million ordo dockets (plus plasteel and diamantine) trying to get this blessing on my level 30 character with no success. At least I got some good mod rolls out of it I guess.....
WHEN HE LISTED THE TALENTS LIKE THAT 🗣🗣
I only wish I could have a zealot build with Invocation, THammer, and Flamer. I honestly miss some of the flamer perks from the old Zealot abilities
The story style was great
You could always try both, do a build guide and then upload a separate gameplay video based on that build. I'd watch both.
Ryken showing he's still the best DT build crafter around!
Glad you think so! :D
Interesting video! unfortunately I don't have the flechette blessing or a good thunder hammer with the option to rebless into thunderous. I will still give the hammer build a try!
the eviscerator one is great too, I have a similar one in use and it is one of my favorites.
I like seeing the gameplay, but I think I'd prefer it in the second video so that the build guides can be nice and tight like this one.
Noted! Thanks for the feedback!
Great Vid!
Thank you for the feedback!
This is cool!
honestly i think the new heavy chain sword will fit perfectly in this build
Zelot is the only class i can justify a bolter on,that prep time is just insane
That zealot outfit is really popular. Ive seen like 20 "sisters" with that same getup and hair
Yea haha - this was originally going to be a Sister of Battle-esque build, but it evolved into something more from there
Dude, ILY
great video
great video, thank you sir
Glad you liked it!
4:13 these are facts

I think if people want to watch the gameplay with a specific build that maybe you could link it in a pinned comment and post it to youtube as an unlisted video
Example being
Hammer Build Gameplay: (insert youtube video link here)
Evicerator Build Gameplay: (insert youtube video link here)
If you want to watch my builds made in real time here is my twitch: (insert twitch link here)
This would allow you to show the people who want to watch the gameplay the build in action but also keep the main form of build guide nice and concise
Thanks for the suggestion! Something to think about!
No need to see gameplay for me. But thats because I've seen enough of you and your videos to trust you and your builds. So for me this format is better. But it could be the other way around for newcomers. I like the way you have it now with snippets in the background that demonstrates what you are talking about , both from the meatgrinder and gameplay.
Just saying Devils claw is dope asf with some crit in it. Been using andecent roll for my zealots critelcentral build. Can get both shred and Rampage. Out preforms alot of weapons at max blessings effects.
This is gold
what if you did a build guide video and a separate video for game play and how the build is played?
