As an Alonso fan, absolutely terrible to witness. Monaco 2023 was the 33 that went away. Getting Newey is great but how many miracles can he make? Fallows was a big disappointment in the end

I could see Newey winning with Aston but not before Alonso retires. That's why I was surprised he went there as it seems like such a long term project. It took Redbull 5 years to become champions. Is Alsonso still going to be driving in 5 years? I would have thought even Newey would want to retire before then.

@@kityhawk2000racing and memes are all that Alonso has. Vettel retired because he has a family to raise. Hamilton and Alonso don't which is part of the reason why they are still racing.

Racing Team Force Aston Jordan Midland Spyker Martin Point India are the biggest enigma on the grid. With a shoestring they were getting semi-regular podiums and 4th in the WCC. With Papa Stroll's billions they're going backwards. They're the F1 equivalent of Benjamin Button.

I agree that Lance isn't as bad as some people make him out to be but that being said, at this point AM need to give him the boot. Lance doing his best James May impression at Brazil sealed it for me. Obviously Aston Martin's current problems go beyond Lance but still, getting a better driver in his seat would surely help. It's just a case of getting Lawrence Stroll to budge on the issue really.

No matter the industry nepotism murders the ambition, confidence and ingenuity of a team. Nepo Babies know there isn't an I in team, but the see the M and the E becoming ME-centric. Because Lance doesn't have to perform for his seat, which he didn't grow up dreaming about, his arrogance and ignorance have only grown. To the point of he has no connection with or understanding of HIS team. Imagine rebuilding an F1 car in 3hrs only to have Strollavitch self beach in a gravel trap because the crowd was heckling him. If he was actually fighting to keep his seat he'd perform better, more consistently, and he'd show growth in his abilities. As it is he is an 8 year rookie, with no manners or even desire to be here. How can you be gifted a permanent F1 seat and not be happy and personable, or atbleast be able to fake it. It is absolutely disgusting to know Lancelost will be the most experienced Canadian driver after completion of his next race, which he should and would never have been in contention for with out his Dad's money and vein attempt to relive his dream through his son, who wanted to be a tennis player, but now has to be an F1 driver if he wants to keep his trustfund...... stroll, trudeau, dione, bieber, drake, as a Canadian, just wanted to say sorry aboot them eh, we can't hit every shot we take

Hope you get better soon. We've had the lurgy recently - chest infections - a few days before my mother-in-law's 90th birthday... Apparently there's a lot of it about.
I understand Papa Stroll's dedication to his son's ambition in racing, he's being a good dad in his eyes (and is probably living his own ambitions through him, which is never a good thing). But unfortunately, that's also blinding him to the fact that there are definitely better drivers out there, and his son is constantly being ridiculed. He might genuinely succeed in WEC - it's worked for many similar racers throughout the years so you never know.
If Papa Smurf genuinely wants AM to win _a_ championship, either one, he needs two _great_ drivers, not one double champ and a part-time numpty. Just bringing in outsiders won't buy success: it rarely, if ever, works. I'd like to see them improve but I'm not going to hold my breath.
