The car has been 11.6 NA with a street friendly 9.5/1 comp ratio. Still the car can cruise at 65 mph all day at 1,800 rpm’s in overdrive. People have repeatedly asked me to price the car. I’d tell them $25k. They always come back with, “Man, I can get a Monte Carlo for $11,000.” I’ve got nearly $25k in the drivetrain. It’s literally the only car that has ever sold off that show. I know it’s not the Bat Mobile but the car has been on 3 episodes so far. And Chris isn’t done yet. He did a lot of work to the car during the show. In any event, we will just put it in storage. It don’t hurt my feelings none. Appreciate the Sub and thanks for watching 😊
@@TexasDragRacingVideo The Buick Grand National too. They don't make them like they used to. Sad really. And if they have their way these cars will all be illegal to drive on the roadways. Nice car man, hard to get money back on hot rods, trust me i know.. I've had 3 of these, a all black 85, a blue 83 and a white 87, my black one had a 383 stroker, blue one had a 355 my dad had that he gave me, and white was bone stock.. back in the day if you looked hard you could find them for 3800-6000 dollars, wish I still had all 3 now
Never said I was trying to get all my money back. I’ve bought and sold probably 100 cars and you win some, you lose some and you break even on some. Price is totally negotiable. Looks like you guys have had a good run on Monte’s. This is my 2nd one and I actually took my driving test in a neighbors SS. Good times. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching 😊
@@TexasDragRacingVideo from what I can tell on video the car is clean and worth the asking price the drive train alone is worth over half the asking price. Best of luck with it.
Cars worth 35 g tops .....hope he gets asking price but you can't count the transport fee ...your new welds are now used welds ...but it is very nice example of a Monte.....and honestly 40 g is about rite for a 10 sec. Car that nice .....but I feel 35 g would be a good number to feel comfortable about the purchase
Price is negotiable. We can even configure the car back to how we got it from Kamikaze and let it go for what we paid. It’s just a matter of negotiation. Thanks for watching 😊👍.
Would depend on the price of the car before any mods but yeah it would be very hard. Car probably has double of my ask in it. There’s a lot more to it that I didn’t even talk about in the video. 😊
The current Algo feeds off comments I believe. The more comments a video has the more RUclips will recommend the video. I do appreciate all the comments so far and have tried to reply to every single one. Thank you for her feedback and thanks for watching 😊
Agree with you 100%. I think my boy was just having fun and putting on a show. I never like going past the Christmas tree on a burnout. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching 😊.
There was more involved than just registration. The car was not under Chris’s name and the title wasn’t signed. So had to go to a friend who owns a dealership to work the title for me. It cost a bit but it’s all legit and legal now and under my name. Thanks for watching 😊.
The video was more to cover some of the stuff bring thrown a Chris. Some people claimed he borrowed the car from us? No, we bought the car from him to help him with his new car. The car is amazing and honestly I feel it’s worth more. Guess we will be keeping it. Thanks for watching 😊
Not saying the car isn't worth the asking but that thought process of evaluating the price is all wrong. You can't count labor or any physical work that's done to the car. Also you can't expect to get out of it what you put in. New parts are used once they are bolted on. Also it had wheels when it was bought but when they were taken off they wasn't subtracted, just 5g's added to the 30g's. I love MC SS's and I feel it's probably worth it or close anyway.
I agree with you 100%. That’s why the asking price does not include labor. That’s just parts. The price of the car is negotiable. If someone seriously wants it we can talk. Worst I can do is say no right? Thanks for watching 😊.
I had a buddy like this. He thought because he paid X amount for something he should get X amount when he sells it. Like its used now. But couldn't explain depreciation to him. You never get out of them what you put in. Unless you find a sucker. And one is born every minute.
We agree 100%, that’s why in my video I never said my price was firm. If someone comes up with a good offer we can work something out. This is not my first rodeo. We have bought and sold 100’s of cars. You win on some, you lose on some. You may even break even. At the end of the day it’s about the memories and the fun you had along the way. Thanks for watching 😊
I laughed as he explained the pricing paid 2500 to transport. Well he paid a company to go up and come back. Round trip. And still over paid lol. 2k to transfer. That's cause he is including tax
@@Stephen-carr once again, people assuming they know everything. Which was the reason for this video. Have you priced a vehicle transport lately at the current price of diesel? On the title, the car was not in Chris’s name. And it wasn’t signed. I had to go through a dealership to get the car titled and transferred to my name in Texas. It wasn’t like I could just walk in to a Texas DMV with an unsigned Oklahoma title. Which in Oklahoma, they require the title be notarized at the time of signatures. Furthermore, I never said I was firm on the price. I’ve had 11 guys offer me what I paid for the car. I’ve said yes to every single one of them and not one has responded back. This is why I bought the car from Chris. I knew this crap was going to happen and he was gonna get the run around from losers and wannabe’s. As far as I am concerned, I did him a favor. Now I got all the time in the world. If the car sells, great! If it doesn’t, great. We still keep building cars and we still keep making videos. Thank you for the feedback. Nice! Hell yeah sounds like a heck of a street car. Would love to see video of it ripping mid 8’s right off the street. Appreciate the comments and thanks for watching. 😊
Nice car, worth the money or close to it… but you can’t justify your ask with your shipping cost and changing perfectly fine axles for different perfectly fine axles. That stuff has nothing to do with the value.
Appreciate the feedback. Problem is I never say in the video that I am firm at $38,500. We can take the Weld wheels off and sell it for $5000 less. Hell right now we have a deal pending at $30K. We buy and sell cars all the time. We win on some, we lose on some and we break even on some. It’s just the gamble you take in this game. Thanks for watching 😊

Beautiful car and it runs really well,it looks to me this car is worth every sip of $40,000 grand,G-body's are hard to find even with a little bit of rust the driver didn't spray and it ran in the high 10's that's progress and success at 3300lbs+😳 with a big block,i assume aluminum heads and a cast iron block, believe it or not but a 1st gen Camaro with a all aluminum 427 big block is heavier especially the front end and a 1963 impala 409 aluminum heads and a cast iron block, which is 19 feet long I think weights the same as the ss monte carlo that sounds like a deal to me,I have a 06 Silverado 1500 extended cab 4.8 V8 and she's at 3700lbs+ and that ss is a little bit longer with a 502 big block and it's lighter😳?,damn, good deal bro
I have a NOS (new old stock) wheels that would look freaking awesome on the Monte or Chevelle if you are interested. They are still in the box and have never been mounted or tire mounted to them!! Let me know
Beautiful car I have a 88 model that I built a 427 60 over I paid 9k for the car I have 10k in my motor I have a brand new turbo 400 with a manual valve body I'm putting a 9 inch in it so that's another $2,500 the Trans was done as a favor so he did it for about 1/2 what it would have cost so I have about 25000 in mine and I still need body and paint so say 6.500 and the back seat needs to be recovered so I'll end up with about 32.000 in mine and it's not a patch on that cars ass don't worry about the haters and internet trolls they never built a car before so they don't have a clue I do still have my ac not to many 10 second street cars with air condition where I'm from in Louisiana. Your friend from Louisiana Rick 427
Jesus christ. When I was in high-school in the mid 90's you could buy Montes all day long for 4 to 5 grand depending on how well kept it was lol. 38G's for a damn G body 😆. Who the hell woulda thought??
Maybe 5-7 years ago you could still find decent Monte’s for around $5500-$8500. Everything changed after Covid. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching 😊
Yes sir... It's always the ones with no cash that bitch about the price. I have a 2014 Mustang that has run 8.40's with a built engine & trans, full suspension, A/C, heat, factory radio, 2 step, trans brake, Weld bead lock wheels & all the goodies that go into a twin turbo set-up for sale & when I say my price, they think I'm crazy. I don't think $55,000 is to bad considering I have A LOT more in it than that. My car is a street car that can cruise all day in the heat of the day & stay nice a cool with the A/C running. People just have no clue these days... This Monte is sweet for sure & worth every penny that you're asking.
Yup, market is all over the place. See what classics are bringing at Mecum this weekend? Mustang sounds like an awesome ride. I may throw the Monte up on EBay. I’ve sold my last three classics on there for my asking price. Best of luck with your sale. It’s just waiting for the right guy. Appreciate the comments and thanks for watching 😊

The people who think a price is too high, they all "have a cousin with a 8 second S10 that he built for $5k with a Junkyard LS". They think they can build a fast car cheap. They haven't actually tried building a nicely built street car. Idiots.
A lot more to this car than people think. Chris never took the time to make the car work. We’ve been tinkering with it and we’ve found the car is way faster than it was on the show. Even the guy Chris got it from told me we got the car going faster than he ever had it going. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching 😊
People are nuts to think it’s not worth 30+ tell them to go buy a 502 with the kit and the Holley dash I’m assuming that’s in the car just those alone will be anywhere from 12-16k with the trans that’s in it… then suspension I’m not sure what’s under this car but I know you can get up in the thousands with that… willwood breaks cost a lot as well… the rnd that has gone into this build is well over 40+ maybe even 50+
Yeah people haven’t even seen all the work that was done to the suspension. This thing was built for street racing. It will hook on dirt. Definitely cannot be built for my asking price.
All the work that was done was done before you purchased it. You have no money invested in it other than what you purchased the car for, turn key. You did what little work you did to it after buying it. Car is super nice. I don't doubt the car is worth close to $30k. Good luck.
Amen brother. I wish I had $38000 to just put out in one shot I would scoop that car up off you in a heartbeat. I have a 95 Mustang That is Turbo charged standalone ECU a 347 stroker motor That I just recently had built Cost me $10000. I probably have just a little over 30K in this car and it looks nothing as nice as this Monte Carlo
It doesn’t matter if you paid 5k for the car, it’s yours now so if you want to sell it for 40k that’s your choice. People that whine and bitch about it can build their own.
Unfortunately some people don’t understand business. For me it’s all for fun. If we make money, great! If we break even, awesome! If we lose a little, ok not a problem. We will make it up on the next one. Thanks for watching 😊👍.
Hell if I had $40 grand lying around I would happily buy this car. I been wanting a SS Monte Carlo like this since I was 10 years old! Fucken sweet car! 🤘🏼☠️🤘🏼

You’ll definitely pay more just off the name. I’m trying to figure something out now to go through my credit union. Like you said they’re HATERS!!😂😂😂😂
Car is amazing and garners a lot of attention at the local shows. But, I went to get in to a Nova so she’s available. Thanks for watching 😊
For a pump gas 502 the car ran well. Car is stunning and super clean .
We gonna tune it up some more, throw some better tires and give it another shot. I think she’s got mid to low 10’s all motor.
*Beautiful car very nicely done 10 sec car!*
Thank you sir. There’s a lot more in the car that I didn’t even cover in the video. The car was built to hook on a dirt road on a small tire. Them Oklahoma boys play different. Thanks for watching 😊
Why would you ever explain the price your selling if they don't want it let them get down the road.
Mainly clearing up some stuff about Chris. People talking and making stuff up with no clue what they are talking about. Thanks for watching. 😊
Car ran pretty good.
You can ask whatever you want it is your car. Anyone objecting should look elsewhere.
We honestly didn’t think it would run that good so effortlessly. 😊
I hate that you have to explain yourself. Great buy. With any lucky you'll get a bidding war and make the $40,000!+ I think the car and the story is worth. Great content. I just subscribed. Good luck, Stay Safe, and I'm taking this ride with ya Bro!!
Monty Carlos were beautiful card. I had one 2tone silver on white. Grey interior. 305 but was still a nice ride.
I actually took my driving test in a neighbors Monte Carlo SS. So this car brings back memories for sure. Thanks for watching JVon. 😊
@@TexasDragRacingVideo The Buick Grand National too. They don't make them like they used to. Sad really. And if they have their way these cars will all be illegal to drive on the roadways. It will be like that Wesley Snipes Sylvester Stallone movie, Judge Dread I think it was where Taco Bell is a high end restaurant and gas cars are in museums only. Lol. Weird time we live in.
That car is beautiful if I had the money I would buy it. I love these cars they are one of my favorite G-bodies
She’s the only one at the shows for sure. Not another one like her in town. Thank you for watching. We appreciate it. 😊
I really like the sound of that exhaust on that one!
It’s a 3” exhaust with Magnaflows stainless mufflers. She does sound sweet. May switch the Chevelle to this system.
Really nice car my friend ,you will have no problem selling that car very nice don't listen to the haters don't worry it will sell
Not in any hurry to sell. I am just looking to get in to a Nova. But I can wait. Thanks for watching. 😊
@@TexasDragRacingVideo the pass you made was good hit ran what you said nice pass nice street car
Beautiful car man I would keep it people just mad cuz they can’t get it for themselves keep up the good work
Thanks Devon. She is a looker for sure. Appreciate your support. 😊
What a nice ride, just subscribed and looking forward to your channel.
She’s all kinds of pretty. Thanks for the Sub and thanks for watching 😊
If I had the cash at this time I would have already been on my way. I've looked for one for awhile but they are mostly junk.
Looks like a nice car. Could you build it for that?
Would depend on the price of the car before any mods but yeah it would be very hard. Car probably has double of my ask in it. There’s a lot more to it that I didn’t even talk about in the video. 😊
I'm gonna throw on a playlist and help with the algorithm.
The current Algo feeds off comments I believe. The more comments a video has the more RUclips will recommend the video. I do appreciate all the comments so far and have tried to reply to every single one. Thank you for her feedback and thanks for watching 😊
What size are the wheels on Monte carlo
On radials you don’t have to do such a hard hard burn out. And stall it up when you staging man. Bad ass car tho.
Agree with you 100%. I think my boy was just having fun and putting on a show. I never like going past the Christmas tree on a burnout. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching 😊.
Why was it 2k to title something that old ?
There was more involved than just registration. The car was not under Chris’s name and the title wasn’t signed. So had to go to a friend who owns a dealership to work the title for me. It cost a bit but it’s all legit and legal now and under my name. Thanks for watching 😊.
Beautiful car. I don’t see a need to justify your price. The price is what it is. Don’t ever make excuses for what you do.
The video was more to cover some of the stuff bring thrown a Chris. Some people claimed he borrowed the car from us? No, we bought the car from him to help him with his new car. The car is amazing and honestly I feel it’s worth more. Guess we will be keeping it. Thanks for watching 😊
Great Video, Thank You for Sharing.
Awesome Chris wish you had the El Camino
Thanks for watching Anthony 😊👍
Hats off to your torque converter, especially if that second pass was nitrous on
All runs have been on motor. We haven’t turned on the nitrous yet.
@@TexasDragRacingVideo well that M.C. is effin sweet, kamikaze is just used to having 1.5B horsepower at his right foot.
We appreciate you watching. 😊

It's a great car brother....nice car with a great price...I have a 84 Monte so I know...

What’s your rear rim tire combo specs ??
Rear wheels are 15x10, 5.5” backspace. Tires are 275/60/15 Mickey Thompson SS/Drag Radials. 😊👍
@@TexasDragRacingVideo can’t build it for that so worth it… pump gas tens in a classic that clean. Crack the bottle and let it eat.

It’s all Be Cool stuff with a digital controller. Car runs 160 degrees all day, even after a run. Has an electric water pump too so you can run it and the fans with the engine off to cool it down.

Go to our newest video. We left off the line at 2800 rpm. Car went a 10.47 @ 127 all motor, no nitrous.

Maybe 5-7 years ago you could still find decent Monte’s for around $5500-$8500. Everything changed after Covid. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching 😊
Covid…..lol
@TexasDragRacingVideo Covid had nothing to do with it. Barret Jackson and Mecom plus TV shows. Prices shot up way before the plandemic

Yes, that’s all motor. Check out latest video where the car went a 10.47 @ 128 mph all motor. Thanks for watching. 😊
