I was thinking the title should read “PayPal, the delusion of retirement”.

After it crosses $120 I’m gonna be selling covered calls until I lose all my shares. Of course I’ll be moving the strike price every week I don’t get assigned.
If I had 100 shares I'd be doing that now and reinvesting the profit.

i have 20k in technolgy funds. soon going to add 30k to it and retire. no mortgage and the wife earns 70k a year. making 6% a month so far on the 20k. 6% of 50k is 3k month

I had paypal stock 500 + of them on average of 59.00. I sold 5 calls of 65 , thinking it wont go in next 40 days, but in 1 week it went. I gained a bit on the spread but I lost in oppurtunity cost.
Unfortunately here in the uk you would have to pay at least 20% tax on any profits as there is no tax wrapper product that accepts Options trading 😢
20%? Try 30% here in Belgium. but okay paying taxes means you're making money so I try to not think that much about it.

It did move. It was overvalued 2021-2022. So it crashed
Use a poor man's covered call and you don't need to buy the shares.

Yeh, not real legit. Firstly no brokerage taken into account. Secondly it assumes a flat share price . Thirdly , highly unlikely you will get it right 12 times in a row, let alone for 10 years. Forthly, if the stock price falls you sit on a capital loss as well.
