I'm in no way a technophobe, but I can't stand digital calipers. I bought a set once, and the battery ran out in just a couple of months. New battery fitted, the tool lasted another three weeks before it failed completely. A digital caliper with no display is a total waste of space. At least the manual ones can always be read.
I would agree with what you’re saying. I purchased one that had great reviews and others recommended. It was great for about a week, and now it will not turn on and the battery doesn’t stay in. I’ve had these Mititoyo’s for about 2+ years and they’re great. Still on the original battery as well.
