Did it help you out? I’m currently struggling 😭😭 I wanna pass calculus II and I took it as a 7 week course because I like math but it’s a lot to take in such a little time, tell me what helped you the most during the year you took it. Thanks!
7 Years later and this was soo helpful .I don't know if it is supposed to be that easy or it's just that my brain started functioning. But one thing for sure is that my lecturer like complicating thigs a lot.
16hrs until my exam haha, i also didnt know how i climbed up in integral calculus without knowing long division hahaha btw thanks for teaching us long division u really saved me from failing, i also gotta learn this within 16hrs (including my sleep lol) anyway thanks a lot!
Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for another fantastic video/lecture on Integration of Rational Functions into Logarithms by Substitutions and Long Division Methods in Calculus Two. The examples in this video shows how to recognize and integrate different types of Rational Functions in Calculus. This is an error free video/lecture on RUclips TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
omg. the last problem I did it before he showed me how (after he gave the hint to use long division, of course) I am so proud with myself. Thank you very much, sir.
I was literally stressing. I get integrals for the most part but boy was i dumbfounded when i realized lnx wasn’t just 1/ whatever is in the denominator
At about 6:30, did you accidentally forget to divide the natural log of the absolute value of "u" by the derivative of "u", or was it undone by another process?
Great effort sir , and I'd like to appreciate the effort u put in by ur simple explanation .I'm a non math student , and from commerce having no math on 12 .before i thought integration is out of my capability but after this video I can crack Atleast 1% of integration problem ...thanks a lot .....stay happy and keep boosting this this spectacular way
I was in my online class (because covid) and another student was explaining his answer and I was confused how he did the u sub so fast with the natural log, now I know how lol.
I know this is a super late response but in case anyone else sees. If you look at the example prior, you were technically already dividing by the derivative, the derivative just happens to be 1. That's why he showed u-substitution when the constant pulled out was 1.
You have to distribute the negative sign. So, the -3x squared on the bottom becomes a positive 3x squared. Just like the positive x^3 became negative right before it.
At 13:06 you made the problem way more complicated than it needed to be. The only thing you needed to do it take x^2 from (x^3-3x^2) to get: (x^2(x-3)+5)/(x-3) = x^2 + 5/(x-3).
@@17931793248650 Maybe I am missing something. But I see (x^2(x-3)+5)/(x-3) with x-3's still there. and x^2 + 5/(x-3) I see that you only took the one in top out.
This channel plus Khan Academy almost makes me feel like Calculus isn't really that hard at all, we've just got a school system that has been teaching it to us completely, 100% wrong. I looked over the notes I took of this subject in class and all I can think is, "Why did my professor make this so damn complicated??"

You very simply explain things which are quite easy to understand...... mashallah.... you are great.... Am biggest fan of you.....

17:37 the solution of the last example is incorrect. I used U - substitution and got correct answer. U can check it with symbolab.
Thank you so much. Now, I learned the integration of log and also the division. Thank you very much.
9:11 u sub and natural log differentiation (here natural log already in the numerator as whole power unlike in denominator as whole power).
I was sick and missed three days of calculus. Thanks for helping me
thanks for this video. its good for refreshing topics for upcoming quizzes.

Thankyou Very Much you saved my first Quiz. Hahaha Thumbs Up!
at 3:38 why did you have to divide by 2? Also why did you only divide the the 8 and not the whole expression?
you are the best teacher i have ever known keep uploading more helpful videos we'll wait curiously 🙌
Best explain❤❤
Yes but why divide by the derivative what is the explanation for that?
I know this is a super late response but in case anyone else sees. If you look at the example prior, you were technically already dividing by the derivative, the derivative just happens to be 1. That's why he showed u-substitution when the constant pulled out was 1.
Syntax Logic yes, differentiation is multiplication and integration is divide polar opposites
The video was very helpful thank you very much
One tip for the second to the last question: you can actually use partial integration of fractions.
Really not a tip considering that's a calc 2 technique and people learn this in calc 1
you save my life
omg i love you soooooo much!! much better than my maths teacher at school id say lol
13:59 -3x squared -3x squared = -6xsquared
You have to distribute the negative sign. So, the -3x squared on the bottom becomes a positive 3x squared. Just like the positive x^3 became negative right before it.
Absolutely illuminating
Can I ask why we need to put an absolute sign? thanks for responds

At 13:06 you made the problem way more complicated than it needed to be. The only thing you needed to do it take x^2 from (x^3-3x^2) to get:
(x^2(x-3)+5)/(x-3) = x^2 + 5/(x-3).
(x-3)/(x-3) = 1. so they would cancel, which didnt happen with yours
@@joellhendrixx5117 it did happen, I just skipped that step and didn't write the one down...
@@17931793248650 Maybe I am missing something. But I see (x^2(x-3)+5)/(x-3) with x-3's still there. and x^2 + 5/(x-3) I see that you only took the one in top out.

at 6:14 I wonder why u didn't get the deravative inside the ln anybody knows why pls
Integrating 1/x will be ln|x| no need to derive the x as changing it to be within ln is the integration and du held the derivative of u
You Goated for real💯❤️
Thanks for the videos, they are so helpful!
5:14 why du=2x instead of just x? i mean x cancels x why you put 2 next to it ? please answer fast anyone
u=x^2-3. Differentiate it, du/dx = 2x or du = 2xdx
Then xdx = du/2
