well logistically how do you expect to maneuver more than 2 trailers behind one tractor through fields, not to mention country roads... bear in mind that they have to transport over public, sometimes busy, roads. not to say it couldn't pull several trailers along a straight, flat, empty road like a train does. its really the only option available as farming technology stands. just how it is. in places like australia and some parts of the US, it may be possible to pull several trailers in areas, but not in Europe, for the most part. farmers are always looking to be more efficient, but sometimes it just isnt possible...yet...
not to mention that the tractor has to pull all that weight through mud, water and everything in between too, and backing 2 wagons together is extremely hard, also these are powered by the tractor when emptying so each would have to be un hooked and reattached which would make it slower then just hauling one
