For all of the grief people have given you for locking the slide to disassemble, your instruction was the only way I could get mine open. I watched a few other videos first and hurt my fingers, my wrist, and my pride. So thanks for this tip.
i see that lots of people have something to say about the way you are cleaning your gun but what works for you its what works for you. same people tell you what guns too get or buy but again what works for you. good video
Worse cleaning job on a Glock I’ve ever seen. But, like you said over and over again, you’re not sitting there for hours until you get white q-tips. And you’re satisfied and that’s what’s important.
I can never understand why people take an extremely dirty brush to a dirty firearm to start cleaning it. That's a head scratcher. And never ever clean through the muzzle end.
The only thing I touch with CLP is the inside of the barrel, Barely touch the edges of the lower were the slide slides. Mabie a drop right above were the serial number is. And every now in then not often I put like a drop were the trigger meets the lower like glock says to do. And then just scrub the rest with a clean dry tooth brush or cleaning prush, wipe dirt out with a gun rag and mabie a Q tip but make sure no cotton gets left in the gun. And then i clean the inside of the barrel but I wipe down everything and make sure everything is dry before I re assemble
Actually, no, the best way to disassemble a Glock pistol is to simply pull the slide back about 1/8", just enough to release the pressure on the slide lock as you're pulling it down, then the slide will come right off the frame, after you've pulled the trigger of course.
I think you should read the user manual on cleaning and how much oil to use it says like 3 drops for entire gun is more than enough glocks are ment to run on next to no oil for real read manual you just assaulted that pore gun with oil
You might want to be careful not to get any oil in the striker channel, on the striker assembly itself and also the plunger. Block recommends to keep these clean, but oil free so that they don't collect dirt which could cause a failure.
Liked and subscribed. I have a question when you just bought glock 19 gen 4 , do you have to clean inside first before first shoot? Or you don’t have to clean brand new gun just clean later.
You do NOT need to clean before you shoot it your first time. All glocks come clean and pre lubricated. When you 1st make sure your pistol is safe and clear, disassembled, you will see a gold like substance withing the slide. That is the factory lube glock uses. Cherish it and enjoy your first time shooting safely. After a few magazines have gone through, then you may clean it. Personally I use Remoil (Remington oil) brand for my lubricant. Hope this helps.
Don't use this method of cleaning! All that oil is going into the firing pin channel, oil attracts dirt, unburned powder and brass shavings. The debris turn to sludge that WILL slow your firing pin giving you light primer strikes (dud rounds) or it will hang up completely. You should take apart your slide every now and then for maintenance, you wouldn't believe the brass left behind. The better way to clean your slide? Baby wipes, I shit you not. Then a drop of oil on each rail and one on the slide where barrel rests. Clean the barrel first in the sink with hot tap water, dish soap and bore brush. You'll get 90% of the crap out then finish it off with clp and patches.
It’s SO BAD if you put too much oil on it. The debris (such as gun powder) will get stuck to the excess oil and can cause your gun to jam. You DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT follow the oiling technique this guy is doing. You should also clean the spring. You don’t really need to oil it but more so brush it to get any powder etc off of it. If you do decide to use oil on it use A LITTLE lol
The myth that too much oil on a Glock causes problems has been busted long ago.Everyone has their own way of cleaning.I say do what you feel the need to do.
Your gun is so dirty because its soaked in a bottle of lube, the excess lube creates collection points for dirt and dust. Good video but save some lubricant for the rest of us!
Too much oil. Glock recommends the MINIMAL amount of oil. It goes in 4 tiny spots. Too much oil will cause the opposite effect in the terms that it will trap and hold MORE dirt/debris. And if using a solvent/oil mixture, really NOT a good idea to get on a polymer frame. Just saying. No it won't melt the frame, but not good neither. You wouldn't armor all your steering wheel for obvious reasons, same concept for the pistol you need to have a good grip on. Hicock or glock site itself for manufacture specific cleaning instructions. Nice video, but not accurate.
You don't have to lock it back to disassemble the weapon. You are the only person I have ever seen do that on a Glock.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind going forward.
Thanks for the info! Just what ive always done.
Was thinking the same thing.
Me too I have never seen that method before ...the more you research the more you learn
Fr0styFire has a video where he shows what I think to be probably the best way to disassemble the G19.
For all of the grief people have given you for locking the slide to disassemble, your instruction was the only way I could get mine open. I watched a few other videos first and hurt my fingers, my wrist, and my pride. So thanks for this tip.
shyman99 hickok 45 right here on RUclips , he’s the Glock master and really good shooter . He will show u everything u need to know
You just taught me how to take apart my piece and clean it. Thanks men!!!
i see that lots of people have something to say about the way you are cleaning your gun but what works for you its what works for you. same people tell you what guns too get or buy but again what works for you. good video
Thanks and I fully agree.
Definitely agree!
Thank you very much for this video! I am a first time gun owner and wanted to clean it for the first time properly. This helped tremendously!!! Liked!
You might want to check out the Hickok45 video on Glock cleaning. Quite a contrast.
Hickok45 has a better method. This guy likes to use so much oil
Worse cleaning job on a Glock I’ve ever seen. But, like you said over and over again, you’re not sitting there for hours until you get white q-tips. And you’re satisfied and that’s what’s important.
Good video for a novice like me. Followed you all the way thru with no trouble.
I just purchased this gun and this was very helpful. Thanks!
Interesting to see what the gravy in the works looks like!!
Man straight armor all the gun!!! Just like my tires nice and shiny!!
I can never understand why people take an extremely dirty brush to a dirty firearm to start cleaning it. That's a head scratcher. And never ever clean through the muzzle end.
@xxx CHOPPER rule of thumb so not to damage in anyway!
Do you have to clean the glock 19 gen 4 magazines also?
Thanks for making it so simple. Good communicator.

Thanks for your opinion.
the way he did it i find easier
Quick question, I just recently got into firearms and was wondering, is there anywhere in the gun that should NOT be oiled?
Great video. First time cleaning im g19g4.
I remember gopher guts, our cousin taught us the song when we were very young. My mom was horrified😂
I recommend cleaning the extractor claw and the breach face as well. Both get very dirty, even after 200 rounds.Just my two cents.
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the comment!
i understand that read the manual it will give you best info for oiling
Ok. Thanks
I think you should read the user manual on cleaning and how much oil to use it says like 3 drops for entire gun is more than enough glocks are ment to run on next to no oil for real read manual you just assaulted that pore gun with oil
I've heard stories about not letting them get too dry, so I'd want to error on the side of caution with the oil.
too much oil causes more carbon buildup
Good job
That also can help avoid rust
This guy cleans his Glock just as a "Guy next door", in many different points of this video.
great video thank you so much

Yes we use greasy grim and gopher guts up here in Sudbury - Ontario - Canada. Lol
Please remember, Glock pistols need very little lubrication if any.
I'd rather error on the side of "too much".
Yes, I've actually heard ad nauseam that too much or even a normal amount of lubricant can cause issues in Glocks.
I notice that Winchester and Remington ammo are burn dirty. I have CCI Blazer Brass. I use 9mm caliber
Interesting observation. I'll keep that in mind.

I love it bro
Love gun Love Glock
Hey thanks for the video. First time owner here and it was very informative.

Thank you for the video brother.
Nice example how NOT to clean GLOCK :D
😂😂😂

Thank you my guy
Where did you buy that cleaning kit
Amazon
The myth that too much oil on a Glock causes problems has been busted long ago.Everyone has their own way of cleaning.I say do what you feel the need to do.
Yeah, that's my philosophy on the cleaning too. My Glocks are all still firing just fine.
I concur.
My gun is for self defense. It is a 12+1. I do not anticipate a huge amount of carbon buildup with 13 rounds.
Thanks for the video. Gopher guts, haven't heard that in awhile lol
I wanted to go old school lol
Change video name to how not to clean a glock
More like how to lube your gun
Thank you!
Wow that’s way more oil than I use on a Glock.
wrong way with brush through barrel …..it's breach out to muzzle
I’m convinced he’s doing everything wrong on purpose
He’s using reverse psychology on how to clean a Glock even taking the gun apart locking the slide back lol
how often should I clean? I shoot 100 rounds per week, or 5,000 rounds per year. Is once a month okay?
I'd say twice a year should suffice.
Too much lube for a glock imo. Youre using a lot of product as well.
I'd rather error on the side of "too much" than "too little", but I'm all for using less product, so thanks!
Dude got 102K views for acting a fool. Good job. Don't clean a pistol like this dude shows.
how is he acting a fool?
i can lubricate inside the cannon right? and de sprin do not need to lubricate??
I'd say lubricate it as much as you feel is needed. I mean don't make a total mess, but I'm not shy about it.
Correct
He’s using reverse psychology on how to clean a Glock especially how to take the gun apart he start by locking the slide back pull down the tabs 😂
There is no wife, no girlfriend no shared home no kids there is only glock now.
Way too much lube, Glocks don't require a lot
Your gun is so dirty because its soaked in a bottle of lube, the excess lube creates collection points for dirt and dust. Good video but save some lubricant for the rest of us!
What about WD-40?
Good to use if you wash your gun with water and soap.
Pretty cool but you know a lot of oil
We say that in Indiana too lol
That some good cleaning
Thanks.

Hahaha no way. Don’t listen to this guy. Lmfao!!!
My glock don’t fire if it’s dirty
toooooooo muuuuuuchhhhhh oillllllllll! :(
muy mal la limpia con mucho aceite. much oil error !! 👎
No hablo espanol.
Squeaky Greasy kkk
Wow...doing to much
Horrible example, p.s. don’t shoot your eye out !
Really? I just put my Glock in the dishwasher. Works pretty good!
Just make sure you remove the hollow points though
Do not follow any advice on this video. The dude doesn't know what he is doing and should not be handling firearms.
