@andyyyyyproduections There's a slight illusrtator's blunder in this, the book was published in 1963, at that time, Bluebell and Primrose were still in their black liveries , Primrose didn't get her SECR livery till the 1970's and Bluebell was painted blue instead of SECR green.
That's the definitive magical artistry, property of Gunvor & Peter Edwards. Just simply amazing that both a man and a woman can make such beautiful portraiture, especially in a series of book stories.
I do wonder who the important passenger was - I mean, who has enough money/influence with the railway to order them to send out a special train, just for him to get home?
@TheGMAnime It looks like he is picking up a "token", they were used on single line track so one train was on that single section at once to prevent an accident.
Can anybody please mention this story’s title in a sentence? Similar to how Percy mentions the bluebells of England title: “But the bluebells of England are different, they’re engines and one of therm’s coming with his controller.”
It is a pity that the Reverend Awdry never really thought about establishing prominent female engine characters. He only really thought about it in general as he was calling it a day with the books. Purists of the Railway Series might well gawp at the changes in the recent Thomas & Friends reboot, but may be surprised quite pleasantly with the strong female engine leads being established.
I suppose the coaches were all female, they are kind of like the engines wives I guess, Annie and Claribel don't like being separated from Thomas and having to pair up with another engine
I do agerre about the slime poabelty of bluebell and primrose appering in the model ria of the show but I think theres a bit of hope that they mite appear in the cgi ria considering what been said about the show reansly perpas as vistors who have come to land a hand ?
Want to know something, if the Bluebell engines that Stepney talked about were in the TV series. It might of being the best episode out of season 4. but I suppose it might of being to expensive to make models that were going to be one offs, unless they would be reused as scrapped engines that were sometimes seen in the background or new characters.
Wilbert Awdry had this rule where any engine that was real from a real railway could not have faces unless they interacted with a Sodor engine, he wanted to make it clear that Sodor was fictional.

*Controller doesn’t name No.488 & No.2650*
I think because they're new
one of my favorite RWS stories. I love how much more mature Thomas feels in this story.
That was lucky for a favorite Willie ruston story like that.
Been to The Bluebell Railway. Had my photo taken in front of Captain Baxter when I was there.
Did he have bad language from his work in the Quarries?
Henry the Rental Engine LOL. He didn’t make a sound. Must have been scolded.

In the past, railways would let any passenger order a special train personally for an extra charge.
That moment when you realise Stepney is actually older than Edward.
I wish terrier 55 Stepney would read this just like what James is here did
Stepney mentions how he was withdrawn at Eastleigh in 1960, and Caption-Baxer also appears in Muppets most wanted
@TheGMAnime It looks like he is picking up a "token", they were used on single line track so one train was on that single section at once to prevent an accident.
So do engines just get faces when they visit sodor?
It's just an advertisement for the real Bluebell Railway
No, it’s just to look like the actual bluebell railway

I dunno
Because the TVS is obsessed with giving Thomas more focus than he ought to have

Tight budget, they didn't have time or money to make sets of everything.

Honestly rusty to the rescue was MORE INTERESTING I mean having stepney just come to the Railway or have a adventurous introduction
