You will absolutely not regret. Picked-up my ID7 last week. What a great car. Looks, the feel, the drive. All the luxury. The software is also very much improved. Had an Audi Etron before the ID7. The VW is better.
Yes, I would buy it. Especially compared to the BMW I5, Mercedes EQE 350 and Tesla Model S. (Why compare Id.7 to the BMW I4 - you wouldn't compare it to the Tesla Model 3 or Model Y either). You get far more car for the money by buying a VW ID.7. Then it may well be that it is boring to look at. But I'm inside it and have no problem with being anonymous :-)
Given the option I would definitely have this over an i4, Ioniq 6 or Model 3. I'd like an EV family car that isn't an SUV, but with more storage space than those alternatives provide. Unfortunately though I can't afford to spend 52k. I'm hoping these do well and there are a few on the used market for good prices in a couple of years. Plus the Tourer version.
- Reduce asking price by £10k, - improve charging -speed from 10% to 90% to under 10 mins, - improve real World range to over 400 miles, and - install ultra rapid (and reliable) charging stations in as many locations across the country as petrol stations.....then I might be interested.
I just ordered mine. The reason being the comfort the car offers and the price, which is several hundred euros less when (company) leasing than an i4 or an EQE. This will be my first fully electric car and I'm excited to see how it fares compared to my current Audi A6 55 TFSI E in terms of comfort and range (range on the A6 is abysmal if you put the pedal to the floor) 😂
Done the 613km walk competition this week for a chance to win it in Norway. That the lady is named Ida is abit troubling, since Ida is a normal name in Norway :P
To me, I think VW have made an excellent looking car here. Quality has been upgraded, as can also be seen with the new Tiguan. If you were just to compare this with other mainstream manufacturers the price is as per them all and much less than the very bloated prices BMW and Mercedes charge. You can’t mention Tesla in the discussion with this car as, size wise, it’s just out of their league. Plus, don’t forget, Tesla do on,y produce 4 cars and 2 of them don’t make it to UK. I am sure that if VW just made 4 cars the prices would be a lot less, and then you could only order 2 of them, both of which are on the same floor pan.
Instead of releasing new models and selling new cars it would be good if VW pulled their fingers out and fixed the existing recalls on the ID3 they've plagued us with.
It is not even the "claimed" figure. OEM have to deliver the different range/efficiency figures for any possible configuration, so if you go to the VW site you will see that the claimed range is 4.17mi/kWh, or 3.24mi/kWh in the high speed test. So even those figures include the charging losses, it looks like the car is giving the "claimed" efficiency. Too bad, motor journalist don't even bother taking the time to check that.
Ordered mine today too. VW offering huge discounts in France on the 77kWh Pro Max Life model which they are phasing out for the 86kWh version and being of European manufacture, bring it below the government subsidy threshold so a 64,000 euro car for 48k. Swapping out my 3 year old Tesla Model 3, though my motives are more about Elon Musk's recent support for Donald Trump than anything about the car - which I loved.
2yrs from now and it'll be less than half price, need new tyres after only 12000 miles because of the weight and still only do 250 miles on a good day. Sorry, I'll stick with my little hyundai that costs 35quid to fill up and nearly 400 miles till empty and no heat pump needed. Excellent quality video as always .
An honest review... True that white is not suited to a 'luxury' based vehicle... Good to see VW persisting with the expensive yet somewhat necessary option upgrades needed... The bottom line is an overcomplicated vehicle that will date quickly and is still too expensive.. Maybe if it was fully kitted out for £52 000? Or just wait a year and they'll be at half price..
How are they screwed? They charge over that for a touareg Suv with a v6 diesel and they sell fairly well! The idea of picking up a car for less than 40p is long fucking gone
When we hear talking about EV cars we can not pair with the world of luxury or nowhere near to it. But we should pair with 2 simple words: peace of junk.
Electric cars shall never be cheap ! With the current state of technology they shall not be widely adopted either. And this particular car - it won't sell !
Just ordered mine, time will tell.

The new Taycan may offer all that. Except the first item :)
@@derjansan9564 The new Taycan can charge from 10% to 90% in under 10 minutes? I highly doubt it!
10 minutes is still long enough to get mugged in any major city.
regarding your first point, just wait for the Skoda version to come out that will be at least £10K cheaper!
How predictable 🥱

You think they could have hidden the front camera in the VW badge.

Why look back . Onwards we must go
@@Erelio because thousands of us are stuck with cars they can't be bothered to repair.

What a bargain at 52,000........ No thanks, as big as a beached whale.
Does Toy's R Us still sell electric toy cars 😅
The bubble has burst on EVs. Can buy this with low mileage in a year or two for £20k less.

It's a handsome car. Just drop in a 2.0TDI.
Doesn't fit under that bonnet.
Lol. diESaL
Great car for about a year.then it will devalue quicker than a used dishwasher..
I have had two passats and this car here is much bigger than passat , why you comparing this car to passat??
It's about the same size as the current Passat. ID.7: 4.961m Passat: 4.917m
@@e-redj hmm looks so much bigger, maybe because of the height?
more like
VW luxury for Audi prices. Or, even Porsche prices!
Felt like the presenter really didn't want to say nice things about this car. What's the nonsense about flying carpets at the end.

600 Mile Range 2 Mins to Refuel Diesel will remain the King of Fuel.
Cant stand cars without decent dash
At the end of the day it’s a very expensive milk float . No thanks
£52k for a Volkswagen ?! No chance, definately a Tesla for me thanks if I had that sort of money. VW group are so screwed
You could pick other manufacturers...but Tesla? They are not premium at all.

I would go for the BYD seal for that price.
@@peterarmstrong3853 the Seal is smaller and doesn't really provide enough practicality for many families, so I'm not sure it's a direct competitor
@@kubbythebusmanSo true , a mortgage is needed now days for cars . Guess I will never be able to afford a new car ever again .
Touch you're phone and you're breaking the law, yet you can use the 15 inch screen in the VW. HYPOCRISY?
Red flag comment: you're a phone driver
Hello grandma and grandpa this fits you well…I’m waiting for model 3 performance refresh

Its a big lump
Nice work China
