I googled square grid planners for 2023 and Hemlock & Oak did not show up at all. I would have gotten this one over the hobononichi in a heart beat. I HATE the amount of smearing in the hobonichi. Once you did the energel pen test, I was sold and went to buy the undated weekly. Thank you so much for this review!
I was laughing when you finally came up with Simplified having a daily because that's why I decided to try doing my own version in an artist loft sketchbook first. I wanted to find out if I could handle a planner in a bound book. I am now leaning towards Hemlock and Oak instead for '24 since I love their cover colors much more. Simply gorgeous!
Good for you for testing it out first before purchasing an expensive planner;) Now you know you like bound! Hemlock & Oak is very well made & beautiful!
I just ordered the minimal one. 😊 But I could see myself getting the other one with more goals pages for 2024 if I wasn’t using MakseLife like I am this year.
@@AmandasFavorites I thought about it but I use the second page per day for my journaling, small victories, reading and happy memories so I actually fill most of that 2nd page up.
The only fountain pen I have is the preppy platinum- I am not sure if that is a thick nib...I am not a fountain pen user. But I can try it out and get back to you if that would be helpful?
@@AmandasFavorites I would love to see that on another video of yours. Your preppy nib should be labeled EF, F, M, B - thickness increasing from Extra Fine to Broad.
Would you say the paper color is pretty white (would match well with matte white sticker background)? I am considering ordering the undated and am looking at stickers to date it.

Kind of wasteful writing in all the planners. Or maybe you use all the H&O planners for a multitude of weekly and daily tasks. I just printed the inserts offered online. LOVE the light grid lines and minimal set up!
Hi, I don't see it as wasteful because it's my job to share and test them. And they do go to friends when the year it up if they are undated...or recycled if not undated. If I don't test them out then I couldn't do a review and share pen testing on the paper and my opinions. I do respect your opinion and I see why you feel that way. I love the daily layout! With my small desk a bound daily wouldn’t work for me right now, but it is definitely one to keep in mind for the future. 💖

It is really thick! I personally would go for the undated-but my personal preference is thinner planners:)

Is this a smooth paper or does it have any tooth?
It's a pretty smooth paper- not slick at all...It takes pen well. But not a lot of tooth.
