I wish I could get this from the very beginning on DVD or something more Hulu or Netflix this is really a good show I would love to watch it from the very beginning why can't we make shows like this instead of sex sex sex kill kill kill all that other dumb shit these people are so good at this maybe we should take lessons from them in making movies!!!

They cut away the backstory of Hailan. Before Hongli became the emperor, he raped Hailan and refused to give her a proper “title” to recognize her as his harem. Back in that era, a girl who hasnt been married and had been raped = a life completely destroyed. It was Ruyi who stepped in to help her get a “title”, so that she didn’t have to commit suicide. That is why Hailan is so loyal to Ruyi.
