- Hi friends! today I'm sharing with you my perspective on why I choose to live a boring life ( boring defined by our society and mainstream media). There is a lot of pressure from our society to live our best lives, to go on epic adventures and to always compete with each other, but this is just not the life for me. Coming to terms with this feeling of satisfaction, makes me even more content about my own life than ever before. I hope you enjoy.

Hi everyone! Thank you for sharing your thoughts in the comments. I just want to clarify that I’m incredibly grateful to live in a beautiful place like Maui and for my quiet and simple life here. My day to day is repetitive, but I do not think my life is boring. I am using the word “boring” in the title because this is how society or mainstream media would see my life. I have no desire to live an outwardly interesting or extravagant lifestyle because I find my joys in everyday ordinariness. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this. Thanks for watching :)

@@SF-fb6lv exactly, so if you have the opportunity to enjoy the little things, take it, instead of obsessing over Instagram and TikTok, because so many around the world don’t have that opportunity to just live.
Many people are struggling with work everyday just to be able to lead a normal life. So not everyone has the luxury of living a life like that
@@therealcjc I think my comment went over a lot of peoples’ head. I am not ignoring the fact that not everyone has an opportunity to have a peaceful or relaxing life. I am well aware of that. All I was trying to say was, whatever life you have, be grateful for it.
@@cupcake1065 I get your point and I do agree. I'm just saying that that piece of advice is more applicable for people who are already leading a relatively comfortable life and are simply pursuing desires needlessly. It's surely a sad state of affairs that "just living" in the way that you've described (read, cook, paint, walk) has become a sort of luxury which many people can't afford, isn't it? I take the view that to be able to enjoy life in such a simple manner is something that everyone should be able to do - I'd go so far as to say it is a basic need. But we're all born in circumstances beyond our control. Some of us have it harder than others through no fault of their own. Cest la vie. So for those who lead the hard lives, it's harder to find that silver lining everyday, although everyday should be viewed as a gift; a present.
It's not boring. It's solitude. It's better be alone than to be with toxic people.

As an introvert, this is not boring at all. This is the kind of life that I look forward to. Peaceful. Happy. No hustle, no drama. Just only me, living. Soon.😅

Personnally i'm the opposite of what's described in this video and i don't judge people. Tho i think that what's matters is to at least try, to see what you actually prefer. Because staying home could be perceived as "easier", if somebody never actually tried travelling, going to nightclubs etc i could think that this person might be missing cool stuff and i find it sad. But if that person actually made his choice knowing both sides i find it completely fine.
@@SimFiftyFifty nothing fun about a night club when you got extreme anxiety that loudness can trigger panic attacks that feel like an oncoming heart attack. A lot of people suffer from this kind of shit.
@Chip McGuire Fighting a severe panic attack isn't really an option. Before I even realized I had panic attacks, the first 2-3 times it happened I thought I was having a heart attack. It took multip;e hospital/dr visits to confirm my heart was fine. I know its hard to understand if you've never had it.. and some people experience much milder experiences that lead people to think it's "all mental" when it's literally a flight or fight response in your body and you dont have any control.

Modern Society is filled with anxiety. Humans are meant to live this way. I wish I was born before 18th century even though those times were harsh but that was a truly great way for people to live.

Yes it's a mentally stressfull day and age but unless you were part of the .01%, in the 1700's you'd be working 12-14 hours a day at the least, you'd be scratching for food on a daily, you'd be drunk from dusk till dawn and there was a 50% chance you'd die before the age of 10. If you'd survive that there's another 50% chance you'd die in a gruesome battle fighting for some king to achieve his lust for territory. And if you're a woman you'd probably get raped on a weekly as well. By either your husband or some drunk or both.

Yes, I'm an introvert and yes, I have a boring life. I've always disliked drama, always wanted to have peace, calmness and tranquil as much as possible. Social media for me is a real turn off, I'm minimalistic and have have no desire to impress others.

Happiness doesn't depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude.
I love this. I’m also a homebody and I spend most of my day meditating and doing ordinary “boring” tasks- but I feel so fulfilled after going on a deep journey in my own mind and clearing out the junk in there. Also cleaning some clutter in my house makes me feel so good.. going for walks, eating something, going into nature, grocery shopping at a place with nice fresh produce. All very exciting for me nowadays! Spending time with myself feels a lot more fun. And yes I used to live according to someone else’s expectations, other people’s definitions of a great life. And when they would ask me what I did, I felt I needed an exciting story to tell. But now I’m like I just enjoy my own company in solitude and I love it
Totally understand. I'm a major homebody too. I'm happy just staying home, eating leftovers, reading a good book, watching the occasional skin movie and beating my meat.

When my kids would tell me "It's boring" I would tell them "Boring is good". Your mom isn't on drugs, nobody is cheating on the other, your dad isn't a drunk who beats up on your mother, you got a nice place to live. There are kids out there that live with drama every day, consider yourself BLESSED.
Thats something a lot of People dont understand and will never understand. Boringness is a Luxury. It means everythings is fine and there is nothing to do. No Drama, no Problems, just you and a lot of Spare Time. I prefer a "boring" Life over a stressfull live every Day.

This life of vacation is what everyone would wish to live, but the world doesn’t give a house, food, water and electricity for free. The rest of the world need to justify their existence by working, and that’s all life is made out of for the majority people, and it’s not as if we had a choice.

She’s not an example, she’s a spoiled brat very dangerous an boasting that everyone should call out for her idleness, she’s even shameless about it and try to justify it how life is so “gentle and easy when you do nothing, a boring life, whatever the others think”. What a fucking joke.

I'm 55 and retired and love being out of the rat-race and the pandemic made this easier because being inside was safer. My room is my sanctuary.
Raising my sons at a young age was beautiful, so now it's my time to relax and be with me.

It's definitely not a boring life. It is such a blessing and a privilege to be able to enjoy such a lifestyle. I have been trying to change my lifestyle since 2021, and I believe that I am on the right track. ❤
The strongest person is the one who’s not afraid to be alone.
I live with my sister and she is totally opposite than me. She always goes out and thinks that I’m wasting my life inside. But honestly, doing the dishes, lighting a candle, snuggling up and watching my favorite series, or RUclipsrs brings me so much joy and peace. ❤️

There are two thing going on sometimes
1. Doing impressive things
2. Doing activities that fulfil ones core needs.
I suspect that, for a lot of people, these two things don't intersect often.

You're totally right. I am an introvert, and for the longest time, I didn't admit that. I was stuck in a cycle of trying to fit in and do what peer pressure tells me and always ALWAYS feeling exhausted until my husband, who is also an introvert, encouraged me to accept myself. I now live my life as I want, and we consider a day at home watching Netflix and playing with our cat, the best day ever. ❤
As an introvert I really relate to this. Whenever coworkers ask me “so what are your plans for the weekend?!” I always feel sort of guilty that my plan is to just stay in and relax. But in reality that’s what makes me happy!

I agree with your premise. I used to feel I had to do this or that and go here or there. Now, I truly appreciate being able to relax and stay home, eat a good meal with loved ones and enjoy each others company. I like being me and doing what I want to do and not what others think or say I should do. Keep up the good work!
Falling in love with yourself is the best feeling. We’re told that in life you must get a job get married and have kids. Not for everyone, some of my most miserable times are when I’m with others and some of my happiest moments are with myself.

No true. But the world is primed for people to look and be a certain way. Material. In actual fact they are devoid of love and peace. True fact...
that’s because no one wants to die alone.
Humans long to transcend their existence. Therefore, to just be alive is rarely satisfying. You can cultivate satisfaction with practice or you can pursue other forms of transcendence. But the material state of existence is not enough for a spiritual being. That's ultimately the reason we suffer.

Many are depressed because they are looking only for material and psysical pleasure, we are souls in a psysical body and therefore we need to feed our soul with love and meditation and spiritual experiences trough meditation
The psysical reality is a dimension which we wanted to experience but we have to be aware thaz the existence isnt only psysical and that there is much more that the material world

Look at the disciples they gave up their jobs and for me as a Jew taught to reject Jesus it was a chaolenge for me too. yet I put my life of materialism aside, and asked His forgiveness and friendship, amen. @@kathleeen8863 I guess I was confusing "introvert" with "lacking confidence" and/or "shyness". Furthermore, "introvert" is just a word. There are far too many personality types, and humans are far too complicated to be judged by simply classifying them as either introverts or extroverts.

I completely agree! Actually, you'll still find a lot of meaningful things living this lifestyle. Also, it's easy to find peace at heart. I used to be a bit ashamed of living this lifestyle. Even someone told me that my life was boring. But now, I'm totally okay with that! I'm enjoying my life hihi~.

I’m very much the same and I enjoy being at home watching videos, cooking fresh foods, tidying and cleaning my home, caring for my cats and granddaughter, reading and relaxing, growing my little patio vegetable garden, riding my bike, sitting out by the pool, just being with my family or by myself. I’m single now for several years and I’m very content and I’m never lonely or bored. I don’t want to go to restaurants, concerts, to the movies, etc. I do love camping though and do that a couple times a year when the weather is right. I’m happy, comfortable and satisfied with my simple, homey lifestyle.

This so called "BORING LIFE" is my idea of FUN. It makes me happy to not have goals. I like waking up to a world of possibilities. I do what I feel like doing, not what others tell me I have to do. The slow life is for me. I don't particularly enjoy being in a crowd. I'm also an introvert and a homebody, so I can completely relate to your thoughts and feelings.

Recently I saw two school kids simply sit on a park bench looking up at the sky and taking it all in. All the while everyone else was running around looking hurried and stressed. They had figured something out that a lot of others had forgotten. A wise man once said, stillness is the language God speaks.

Good for you. Live your own life no matter what. I live alone on a very nice sailboat. I enjoy waking up on the water every day. I’m completely bored by small talk and fancy restaurants. I am so grateful of the life I’ve achieved and am humbled by the beauty that surrounds me every day. Most of all I am time wealthy and love the serenity that allows me to think.

People always tell me I'm the "oldest" 25 year old they have ever met because I enjoy cooking, gardening, and stay away from screen and technology the best that I can. I take it as a compliment.

Just look at technology as a tool, to use to accomplish things and make your life easier. But you've done the right thing by not making it an obsession. My company built much of the technology in Internet 1.0. and never imagined the dysfunction we enabled.

I love this. Sometimes I feel boring because I don't look forward to music festivals (for example) the way my friends do, but I've done them and I am more excited to prioritise/ save up for my dream home and reach my bigger goals, living small and in my own world is better and more important for me. My priorities are different from those and this reminds me that's fine I'm not 'boring' we just have different priorities :)
I want to find the man who wants to lead this kind of life with me. 🙏🏼❤️ No pretense, no status bs, no over-planning free time with accumulated „friends“ that that judge our relationship behind our backs, no hoovering parents that control their adult son‘s life, no second thoughts, just plain love and appreciation of life itself. Wisdom to share, books to talk about, sunsets to enjoy together, tears to dry from each others cheek, in bad and good times till death does us apart.

I spend a lot of time at home, too, especially since we are retired now. But I also like the outdoors enough that I’m pursuing buying a chunk of woodland to spend time on.

My life used to be full of parties, going to pubs, clubs, house parties multiple times a week. I’ve met a lot of people and used to hang out with a lot of people. If I wasn’t partying I’d spend most of my free time messaging everyone I knew… I used to travel a lot and never lived at one place more than a few years.
Now, something has changed, I’ve met my other half in a different country, I’ve moved there to live with her, and I find happiness in just relaxing at home after day of work, seeing her or my family at the weekends, and going on trips every now and then. I don’t really enjoy partying or going to clubs anymore, I no longer spend all of my free time on texting, actually I barely use my phone now so sometimes I reply to people only after a few days… some of my old friends told me I’m boring now but i don’t care, it’s my life and I choose how I live it.
I completely feel the same! I love savoring the beauty, the subtleties of life...birdsong, preparing a piece of fruit, reading a wonderful poem or just watching the light play on the wall. Much love❤
The hardest part about being an introvert is being mis-understood. Very early in life, you are made to feel as if your way is wrong. When in fact it's not right or wrong, it's just my way. Biggest misnomer of introvert is that we don't care for others. I think the real problem is we care too much, we take on others feelings and hardships, its draining. And I came to realize others seek us out for that reason which is why they get so upset when we are not available. We like to be alone, but we don't like to be lonely, that's an introvert in a nutshell(meaning connections are just a deeper concept to us than just having a good time).

The way media or society sees you is ordinary.
But in reality, nothing is ordinary. Life is too special for that, its full of wonders.

I hate it when vloggers live overseas and/or are constantly traveling. It gives me so much anxiety when I see them going back and forth from one resort to another. I feel so restless to see how restless they are. And yes, it's fine if that's how they really are, but the problem is that social media tries to make everyone be "larger than life." I'm so happy and content watching people in their little apartments living their every day life and sharing little pieces of their most monotonous rituals. The life of the party is great for just that, the party, but everyone knows that the calm, stable friends are the ones that are loyal and dependable.
Not everyone wants to Dream Big, they just want a Peaceful Life, very well said!
I have to confess that as an introvert, I love making connections with nature more than people. And I didn’t realize that until I move to New Zealand, this wonderful awesome place. 😊

You beat me to it - I was going to post that it took me until my 50s to realise simple is what I enjoy and actually need to be happy and content. Living simply n the moment.You are lucky to have realised this at a younger age.

I also am an introvert that some people call my life boring but I appreciate little things as well!
I was once told by my so called "friend" in middle school that I was boring, and have always kind of been made to feel that I am, compared to others because I too am a homebody who is also introverted, shy, and I deal with anxiety and other health issues. But being around my family all the time, taking things slower, not being the loud outgoing person is truly what makes me feel happy and fulfilled. I wish people wouldn't be so judgmental of how others wish to live their own lives.
Yes! And stop making people feel bad for not wanting to always be out, trying new (big) things, partying, etc.

Sounds like me exactly. People I know always running and never seem to stop. In my street they are so restless that when I leave they come into my home and go through my things. Take my food and bring their stinky dogs in with them. Good Luck to them poor fools. Nothing goes away its all material out there. One thing is for sure you do leave if you live a life of restlessness. You lose your beautiful looks to. They sure have and their peace and calm too...
I’m so glad that there are other people like this. So many people in the comment section, assures me that I’ll meet a new group of friends who prefer slow living. A good time can simply mean: sharing a meal with friends, sun bathing, visiting a book store, going on a hike, etc. I often turn down parties or big gatherings. I don’t have the social energy for it, an intimate one on one chat is preferred 🥰

...Today I had some stuff to do at the central part of my city, so there were many chanses to get some really nice pictures, but the only photos I actually took were the ones with beautuful clouds above partly green field with small path in the suburbs.
The rest of amazing views of the day I chose just to enjoy at the moment :)

Love this. Sometimes, people also say to live your life a little. Now, we have different definitions of what living your life is and people need to understand that their beliefs of what living your life is is different to some. ❤
As a man I was told by my crush for being silent and boring but deep inside me I have lots of thoughts but couldn't say it to her directly during our conversations. Being Introverted doesn't mean you are boring shy anti-social or quiet. Introverts thinks a lot before saying something. Introverts love spending their time alone, with family, with small group of friends, and with pets, and likes to stare at our beautiful scenery and surroundings. The peacefulness gives us a lot of energy.
