Love the FDOT pavement sound on the long bridges from 45:07 to 46:20 and 1:03:09 to 1:03:42. It is music to my ears!

The first time I went to Sarasota, I traveled all the way from Palm Bay/Melbourne. As soon as I got on 75 southbound from Highway 64 in Bradenton, my heart felt like it was gonna leave my body when I came around the loop and saw the long traffic line heading north.

I-75 really needs a NJ Tpke configuration, from beginning to end really.

FDOT needs to do something about the congestion on this stretch of roadway. It was not like this when I was last there in 2017.

I think the problem with the congestion here is just the terrible amount of suburban sprawl. Theres also a big problem with local and through traffic interacting. US 41 should have been built as a local freeway, and I-75 should bypass most of the arterial roads.

@@w-josh75 is the ONLY interstate and freeway option between Collier and Manatee. In an area with over two million people, Southwest Florida has to be one of the largest densely populated areas in the United States to not have any extra interstates or freeways except for 75. It's a huge concern, and part of the several reasons traffic really sucks there.
At least on the east coast in the southern Treasure Coast area down to Miami-Dade, you've got 95 and the Turnpike side by side which does help traffic, especially in Martin and St Lucie. And in Brevard, you have the Beachline which gives you direct access to Orlando.

@@w-joshThey could easily turn 301 from DeSoto Road or University Town Parkway in Sarasota to US 41 in downtown Bradenton a freeway if they wanted to.
What I noticed in Fort Myers and Cape Coral was that they had a lot of Overpasses for huge intersections. I believe a lot of Naples does the same thing.

Nice to see the Floridians drive the same way at home they do up here. Time for some petrol before Alligator Alley.

Another diamond interchange in this area

Despite I-95 anchoring both the Jacksonville and Miami metropolitan areas, in between those two metros, it’s not this congested. I-75 between the Tampa and Miami metropolitan areas is very congested excluding the Alligator Alley stretch of I-75.
That is mind boggling to me as a lifelong Cocoa, FL resident on the east coast of Florida living close to I-95.

Really, I-75 is congested south of the I-4 interchange. I-75 suffers from heavy truck traffic as opposed to the other two. It also suffers from a lot of Turnpike traffic when it ends, and suburbanization sprawls from Naples to Wesley Chapel. That’s nearly 200 miles!
I-95 may not be as bad between the two metros, but overall is the worst. It also isn’t a slouch either, Daytona Beach area especially.

1)Yeah I forget it plenty much developed along I-75 from exit 101 to exit 285.
2)True I-95 no slouch. Traveling to Savannah, GA from Cocoa, FL annually via I-95. Gotta be on your Ps and Qs.
