HDR on PS4 can be a pain sometimes. The most common problem I see is ppl saying the picture is to white or washed out, i had to set each slider 2 past were the symbol became invisible and looks perfect now lol. Doesn't work for every game I noticed. Sadly
@@stefank1ng310 usually it doesn't because HDR mainly affects color quality and contrast between light and dark areas but if your playing a real system hogging game like cyberpunk lol then yea it can cause lag and fps drops. Most games run fine with HDR though like NFS Heat, AC Valhalla and so on. There's alot of good HDR compatible games.
Without HDR it seems dull (for 5 years i've been dealing with that until i saw that some guys here playing have sm better colors than me on DMC5) then realised that i have to switch the HDMI input to the one when it was enabled since it only enable one HDMI input cuz the system been fooling me since i bought it telling me TV don't support it while it was just enabled on another input🥲
I’m trying to find what each individual hdr calibration adjustment specifically refers to IN the hdr calibration section you referenced. You seem to know more than me about. I’ve done similar by over compensating but I’s just like the blacks darker is all - do you know which of adjustment screens is specific to that?
@@Allegro_Giusto it's been awhile since I have used it but if I remember correctly, it's the 3rd adjustment screen. Try adjusting it a couple notches in the direction that makes the symbol more visible first. See how that looks and adjust more if needed.
I'm trying to get my Mass Effect LE to look less yellow and I was getting so mad because my tv setting just weren't doing the trick. This helped so much 😭 I've had m PS4 for like 5 years and just realized I never had it in HDR. Probably because this is my first HDR tv. Thank you!
Omg me too ! Imagine i have this PS4 now for 5 years and never known that i can play it with HDR i thought this 4K TV don't support it cuz they showing in my ps4 that ur tv don't support it instead of saying that it's enabled on another HDMI input not the one im playing with ! I just switched it to the enabled one and OMG the colors are better like a billion time now on that DMC5 Lol but i fixed the PS logo to be visible indtead of invisible so the image is kinda darker Lol that's why i got there to fix the darkness and enjoy what i've been missing in 5 years😭😭😭😭
I have a PS4 PRO and I have a 4K TV with HDR. And Warzone just looks better and brighter with the HDR turned off. The colors look better without the HDR, with the HDR they look more grey.
My PS4 system always told me ^UR TV DON'T SUPPORT IT^ while it was just disabled on the HDMi input when i was playin and u can't enable it on more than one and i was kind upset cuz it've been fooling me 5 years now until i saw some guys playin DMC5 that have way better colors display and quality than me hence i play on 4K TV then i searched and got u there and now finally i can enjoy what i've been since 5 years ! 5 frikin years yeah so i figured out all that just today ! I don't have a crazy priced 4k tv, it's a Roku for like 250$. Anyway everytime I activate the HDR in games it's either darker or a bit to white. I like the HDR off it looks a lot better lol
This is really confusing me 🤣🤣 the icon in the middle of the screen needs to be barely visible? I have the Samsung TU7000 series. just need some extra info
After watching this I noticed on when you were adjusting the color I couldn't make out the outline of the box at all are you supposed to see the out line or should you not be able to see it
Even when i do these settings everything looks so bright.even if i set my tv brightness low it still shows to much white in every game how is this posible ?
Because the PS4 is kinda bad at telling if your screen is actually HDR or not. I have my PS4 hooked up to a monitor that definitely doesn't support HDR and the PS4 says HDR supported anyways. Best to leave it off if your TV is having brightness issues.
So I own a regular PS4 and can't for the life of me get HDR working on apps let alone any games. I read that for HDR to work the console has to be connected directly to the TV so I thought that was the issue. But nope, still does not work. It does say HDR supported in my Video Output information on the PS4. I am aware the PS4 is only capable of 1080p HDR and I was curious how this would like on my C9. But for whatever reason the console does not activate HDR. Am I missing something?
So regular PS4 have HDR? I have a tv that supposedly has HDR but when I got to change these settings it says HDR incompatible. Regular PS4 doesn’t have HDR or something wrong with my tv? I do have a nvidia HDR cord.
It does! If it is a samsung, you need to enter on image options a turn on the Hdmi uhd color (hdr) for the ps4 connection. After that the tv will restart and you can do the procedure of the video

When I went to check if HDR was supported or not it only said RGB? Im trying to play final fantasy remake and it needed HDR so my tv told me to change the settings to play the game so I did (I didn't know what I was doing) and I guess I messed something up because now my tv's being weird. It randomly turns on and off and it eventually shuts down after a while and I've looked at so many tutorials and I still don't know what's wrong. My PS4's screen doesn't show up on the TV, so I have to use a different TV I have (not smart) to be able to change the hdr settings to anything. But since the non smart TV doesn't have hdr, when I try to change the hdr settings on my PS4, it says that the TV isn't compatible to HDR. So it's a loop, basically. And I tried doing it through the PS remote play, but obviously same result. I tried doing it when it's not connected to anything (I memorise where to select). But obviously that doesn't work. Just tried it for the heck of it. So I don't get it basically. And so far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with the smart TV (yes, ultimately I want to use THAT TV, not the non smart one (the normal one is not usually available to me) Edit: nevermind, I did it ✊🏻
