But it's super simple and kinda affordable now that I'm thinking abt it tho-

If you travel to Vietnam you could order it for "cà phê sữa đá", it literally means iced milk coffee, and it is in almost every single coffee shop menu in Vietnam.

It's actually a lot more caffeinated that normally espresso. I think it's because the brewing method allows the water to go through the grind a lot slower than traditional espresso. That's why Vietnamese Iced Coffee is know n to keep you up for a very long time after having it.

Coffee drinkers are so lucky to be able to enjoy coffee. Sadly I get so much anxiety from coffee, get really sick, have migraines, and the caffeine can make me stay up for a day or 2 if I drink I grande iced coffee from Starbucks 😭

Barista here, we use the worst coffee (still high quality, but our cheapest coffee) for phins because they can't really bring out the sweet flavours of specialty coffee (hence, why you need to add condensed milk). Beverage TDS is around 3-4%, strong but not nearly as strong as a well extracted espresso (8-12% strength). It's not too strong, it's just too sweet imho. It's a weird middle ground between a clean filter coffee, and juicy espresso. It has it's audience but I suspect it's because we sell it really cheap and it's a very sweet sugary drink.
Vietnamese coffee is like crack .. truly hits different than any other coffee I’ve tried. It’s tastes super strong and sweet at the same time from the condensed milk. Very addicting. This is a coffee that you pour over ice and sip on slowly. I used to complain about the amount of ice viet coffee shops give you but it’s necessary to dilute the coffee when drinking :) ✨perfection✨☕️
Vietnamese coffee! I love it. When I visit to Vietnam few years ago, I had a chance to enjoy a cup of coffee just like this way. I bought special Phin. Veitnam coffee taste bitter and dark, so I recomend this way if you get some coffee beans from Vietnam.
in Malaysia this call kopi ais which is original coffee and condensed milk also ice. some people also would like to put pinch of salt. it will taste sweet, bitter, and creamy.

I worked at a Starbucks in an area with a large Vietnamese population and I would notice that we had some regulars who would order something that looked like this, and it didn’t hit me til I Googled “Vietnamese coffee” that they were trying to get a Starbucks version of this. The recipe is 4 pumps of white mocha to 4 shots of espresso. Most people got it iced. No cream/milk.

Now, to sprinkle in some fun facts. This is what we call a Bạc Xỉu, a coffee with double the condensed milk. It's traditionally served in the south for kids going with their parents because they can't handle the strong and bitter stuff.
@@clownrat5759 good question, and I'm not sure why. Vietnamese parents don't really limit how much energy their kids take. I have been drinking it for as long as long as I can remember, and there's really no problem. You'll learn pretty early on how much you can drink, but I think we have a higher tolerance for caffein, I can drink an western espresso as like 10pm and go to sleep at 12am easily.
This is called Cà phê sư đã (cafe su da if you want to pronounce it right) I can confirm that this is the greatest coffee with condensed milk and boiling water poured over expresó making it incredibly strong, then mixing and pouring it over ice. I am half Vietnamese and Vietnamese food and culture is a huge part of my life. It makes me weirdly proud whenever i see people acknowledging my culture.

Also went to Nha Trang which was beautiful, again amazing food and the best cocktails I’ve ever had! Hoping to go there again later this year or early next year but to Da Nang next time.

nah dont judge it if you never have it before. The coffee itself is 2 times more intense and bitter than usual coffee that's why they use condense milk
