Yes more guns - but not too scary. Yes more armor - but still dies easily. Yes it's a zero - but turns worse than a Spitfire, barely climbs and is generally slow.

I am suprised about the fact that there are still so many players who try to dogfight Zero's. I don't know how many time I've lost simply cuz my team thought dogfighting a A6M was a good thing...
It's because there are dumbasses like me who manage to lose most dogfights while flying a zero
I can't believe that after 10 years people still haven't leaned to climb.
Every time I look down I see Zeros, Spitfires and every american plane in existence hugging the ground.

You'd better fly near the ground and get 3 "easy" kills on attacker.
the other option is climb 10min, fly in circle for 10 other minutes and when you finally find someone who don't instantly dive toward airfield, the match end bcs ticket bleed.
@@briannormant3622 Partially unfortunately yes. If your team does well you won't get a kill, on the other hand if your team does bad you get the chance to get a couple of kills and then loose the match.
The biggest problem is that your tickets will bleed away like crazy even if most of your teams is alive and there is only one enemy left.

I remember wanting this plane for sim battles because the extra guns were pretty appealing to me, as sim battles have a lot more things to destroy and many bombers.
Same. But ended up as ki-44 otsu shoki sim battles otp (i stayed low br with japs coz of cringe-ass La-9 as a reason)
Oh my god, inhuman reactions. Thats a godlike kill with the rocket. when time comes and you decide: "no, you dont get bullets. you get humiliation"
I personally think making slow slower regardless of maneuverability is normally more suicidal than the Japanese, I’ll admit the slow zero is an excellent gun platform
I dunno, I still have a pretty good time with the A6M Hei. Sure it's a bit slow in a climb, sure it has a slower turn speed (still can outmaneuver basically everything though), but the extra guns are surprisingly effective in head-ons. People just don't expect a zero to do something like that so they commit without trying to dodge and get slapped. Also, the durability of the Hei's airframe is _very_ noticeably improved, cause I've been beaten to hell and set on fire many times flying it but still managing to limp to base. Still don't understand why they shoved it up to 5.0 though...
Hei is still somewhat okay. But A6M6c is not
@@smigoltime Yeah the 6c is a flaming pile of garbage. They should've just used the A6M7 which was a dive bomber variant capable of carrying a bigger bomb load and handling higher dive speeds or the A6M8 which had a ~1,500hp engine and a unique cowling which removed the 13mm Mg from the nose, otherwise being a much better A6M5 Hei with 2 flying prototypes being produced.

I remember fighting against these planes with Soviets, It was such a pain, whenever the map was Khalkhin Gol or Zhengzhou, I know from the beginning It was a lost match, most of the time they would turn against a Zero

I personally love the A6M6c - Which doesn't make sense, considering some of my favourite aircraft are the Bf-109F-4 and I-185. It might be due to the heavy armament and gun stability, which combined with its low operating altitude (courtesy of the horrid climb rate) means that you can catch brain-dead *(insert popular 5.0 fighter here)* players off-guard with a head-on burst, and then follow up with a turnfight they will almost certainly be baited into due to said low altitude. It is that rapid follow-up gameplay I enjoy, granted the enemy or myself do not disintergrate during the head-on.
It's also pretty good at farming the attacker bots for points due to it being up-gunned. Grinded SL and some of the 40k point challenges with it
The best thing to do in a zero is force people to the deck so it really isn't even that retarded of a strategy

At 4.7 with the 890 repair cost it had it was basically a 35k sl printer for me, guns were good at range and close and the 13.2mm felt like it had it out for every pilot I clicked on lmao. I've been set on fire and taken more shots than an only fans star in this thing just to turn around and kill whoever didn't finish the job, that alone is funny enough to use it
Also helps that this thing is a reversal god and people fly straight after a strafe xD

I know the Hei is a tad bit underpowered in terms of its climb rate and its engine power, but its armament is nice...
The Hs-129-B3 actually has WAY better armament. Go try it.
I personally love the a6m6c for some reason it's the most survivable zero and hardest hitting one for me

It still has zero syndrome. Morons turn with it and die. Most often faster than usual because of all the guns. The armor catches people off guard it is still surprisingly maneuverable once beaten up.
It's dogshit when people fight it properly but it's still so much fun because people suck.

Before they moved it to 5.3, I hadn't played the otsu in a while, so out on a whim I figured "I wonder if this is as stupidly good as I remember." 6 kills. "Yep." I think the otsu has the perfect amount of firepower while keeping the mobility. Having that one 13.2mm in the nose doesn't sound like a big improvement, but it's just so useful.
Otsu is still somewhat okay. But this is A6M6c

My Favorite Zero is the last one. The A6M5 Hei, It may not be as snippy, or have the best climb rate, but the upgraded armament, and the addition of the self-sealing fuel tanks, imo make the best Zero. I have survived quite a few fires in the Late Zero. The Armament is fairly decent (plus they sound so good). The only gripe I have with it is the poor climb rate. But then again it shouldn't be 5.0. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have only used the A6M6c in ground rb, the extra armour and self sealing tanks are more useful there.
Hitboxes: Rocket won’t hit if 2mm away from plane

I've never seen anyone who use Air-to-Air rocket like this. Only I use is ground rocket to shoot big planes when my guns can't do damage(I-153 or P-47 vs Bombers).

guns are not so different from regular zeroes. Instead of 2x 7.7mm you get 3x 13mm. Not a huge deal.

I actually enjoy playing it tbh. The only thing I don't like is it's slow speed, but that's all. I usually stay low in the A6M6c, so the bad climbing rate is no matter. The guns are amazing, I usually destroy everything in a one shot. It turns worse than a Spitfire, but still better then most of the planes, even at low speeds. And in contrast to the other Zeros it has really strong armor. :)
I'd rather have the agility of a regular Zero. For heavier purposes I have the J2M and N1K

My favorite plane to dogfight in is the p63 a10 or "banana plane" but I feel the guns are bad so can you prove It's skill issue ?

I sometimes play seriously around this br, but it's more sporadic and I dont really grind KD or sth. I play 1-2 games for fun where I play seriously and that's it.

There is a D4y variant with rockets smigol, could be interesting to play.
Also there is a folded in ki-61 at 4.3 that is an interceptor and has ho-5's, maybee worth checking out, especially since many players think the ki-61 is slow but totally forget that it keeps energy at a stupid level.
I have spaded every Japanese aircraft and enjoyed the Ki61s, apart from Hei and II-Otsu

@@nietname2468 Hei is the one with wing mounted MG151 and II-Otsu is the last Ki-61. These two are underperforming imo.

honestly recently i have the feeling, that whenever the snail patches, the guns just seem to work on occaision better or worse whatever snail feels like.
For my worst 20mm experience the j6k1.. i literally have more kills with the 2 13's than the whole 6 20 mm's somehow....
meanwhile 50 callories either start fires 1.5 km out or you waste 300 shots on a single plane.
