- Imagine a tree with thousands and thousands of these fruits hanging, would you dive in?😳 I just love these, such an easy on-the-go snack in the perfect packaging. They don’t bruise, last for a long time off the tree and pack a lot of calories. They’re both juicy and filling, the perfect combo. Do you know about the peanut-effect? Whenever you eat a snack or fruit that has a lot of singular pieces like peanuts, potato chips… you get the peanut-effect where you can almost not stop and automatically grab the next one… same goes for this fruit, they’re just too good to stop!😅

@@Zarithyeenno i think those are different fruits related to it because rambutan looks similar and has a similar texture but it’s much bigger and the outside is kinda spiky

@@Zarithyeenlychees have a red and bumpy shell. The meat inside is similar looking but whiter not as translucent.

Longan is a Chinese word that directly translates to ‘dragon eye’
As a Vietnamese,we also read it as “long nhãn” which mean dragon eye

I love them so much my grandma grows them i remember using the seed and bouncing them as if it was a bouncy ball and they are so sweet they dont taste like caramel but they are sweet like them

Its good but I cant say its taste like pure caramel. I ate it a lot because my mom got this fruit tree at her backyard. Its called "Mata Kucing" in my language its mean Cat eye fruit.

We call it কাঠলিচু( Kathlichu) in Bengali as it has a wooden like shell and pulp looks similar to lychee. It is very sweet in taste as seems someone has put too much sugar in it.😂 Btw I watch your all videos. Take love from 🇮🇳.

They do look similar to guinep fruit, but this one is different. Guinep doesn’t have a black seed. And they are called Spanish limes, dependent on what country your in. This one isn’t either.

Lychee is sweet and sour and has a chewy texture, Longan is a little crunchy and is refreshingly sweet. I prefer Longan over Lychee.

In Bangladesh we called it peace faul in bangla . I love it very much in our village we have a tree of this fruit.
So last week I was coughing so bad idk why, I knew that when I cough I shouldn’t eat fruits like longans and lychee, but the longans looked so delicious and I couldn’t help but ate like 20 of them, mom was mad.

Oh my this fruit takes me back. I was born in Vietnam and whenever my parents brought home this fruit, I was like a kid in a candy store. Peeling off the skin and munching on the sweet, slippery but sticky skin was so enjoyable.
In Brunei Darussalam we have 2 type this fruit, Short tree and Thick meat call LONGAN...And High tree and Thin meat call Mata Kucing (cat eye) fruit...😂

There are bad Longans. Farmers would use a bunch of fertilizers to make it grow faster and bigger. Those tend to lack sweetness and just taste like water. You could easily spot those by it's non round shape. The Chinese meaning Lon meaning round, and Gan meaning eye. So if it's not round, it's no good.
Yeah don't like longan personally. It tastes like a chemical syrup fruit. All other fruits I've tried I haven't disliked as much as this.

Longan is delicious, but it have sibling fruit , in our country is call buah mata kucing or in english cat eye fruit , pure sweet , they have same color same shape , but different between mark , cat eye fruit is small then longan , but longan taste more like lychees but with no sour , it taste sweet , different taste between cat eye is cat eye is more sweet then longan , Totally sweet , trust me , if someone love sweet fruit , u should try this fruit , i guarantee u will love it

India has a Red Pink version, Very similar fruit (same if you leave out Shell colour) to this called - Lichi/ Leechi.
