I just bought an i91 today here in Australia and it did come with a quick release chin strap. I see on the sticker inside your helmet that was made in September 2023 and mine in October 2023, so they have added a micro metric quick release around that time. Also my visor is not flopping around like that one you show. They seem to have fixed that too. Good to see they obviously constantly improve. I really love this helmet. I'm just starting out with bikes and it suits me at the moment. I also use it on my e-scooter around the city. I'll get something more fancy in a helmet in the future. Great video and I really like your channel. Thanks so much! Craig - Australia
So I picked up a 5XL size on this one yesterday. Couldn't find it anywhere online but a local motorcycle supply shop said their deal had it. So far it's great. My helmet was manufactured in July of 2024 and does not have the visor issue yours does, it holds many positions nice and firmly. Mine also came with a D ring strap setup but I converted it to a nice quick detach system. Only worn it around the house thus far and am really enjoying it.
Just bought the UK version of this today (27 Feb) & there are definite differences between the reviewed version & mine. The chin strap is micro metric, not double d ring. & the visor isn't floppy it has positive 😮 hold it in place. Small differences, but they make the helmet better, i think. The other thing which you didn't mention is the other dedicated intercom, the 11b. That only connects with one other unit, but otherwise is the same spec as the 21b. It's also a fair bit cheaper & will do what I want, so I got that, too. The total cost for helmet & intercom was £290 ($368 approx) with the intercom fitted by the shop.
Yes, there are differences between the Euro version and the US versions of this helmet. We only review the US versions of helmets. Thanks for watching!
@Petrolhead1251 I have. The noise level seems to be quite low compared to my other helmet, a Grex G9.1 Evolve, though I've only ridden about 100 miles in it. It's a very comfy & the integrated intercom is excellent - I've got the basic version, the 11b - for listening to music. So far I'm very happy with it.
Hi, I cannot find much info on the 11b, how are you getting on with it? I am a completely new rider and I going to buy the i91 as my first helmet so want to get the comms unit with the helmet if possible. Just need to find a local helmet shop in the midlands ion order to see what size I need :)
I upgraded from the old i90 to the rpha91. It’s so much nicer in every way. Also I have the Cardo freecom 4 and you can mount it directly onto the plate on the side. I was worried it might be loose but it’s staying solid.
Same. I used double sided gorilla tape. Cut it into a couple of pieces to level out the ridges on my RPHA 31 plate. Worked perfectly. It's not coming off.
That's one of the things I love about HJC, they always have thoughtful improvements like that adjustment for the sun shield, my i90 Syrex doesn't have that feature but I love the i90, especially the colour it matches my HJC MX2 Creed. I got the i90 on Boxing day sale only paid $ 203ca all in, wicked helmet!
I’ve been running this helmet (USA version) for 5 months now, and pretty darned happy with it. Like you mentioned, I’d be happier if the visor had some more positive detents, but it has so much going for it, I don’t mind, and got used to it in a few short days. I had the local dealer “Helmet Guru” measure me up for it, and it’s the best fitting helmet I’ve ever worn. Noise level is very acceptable, and no complaints.
Loose detent on shield would be a deal breaker for me - that's why I got rid of my Schuberth. My I90 has great detent functionality - I'll stick with that.
I have an HJC i90 5XL, I take it this version wouldn't fit then. Doesn't seem like there are many that will fit, I'd like to try and find something with more air flow. Modular seems to fit easier. I've got between 25 - 26" circumference.
Reached out to SpeedAddicts about sizing for those of us with a larger noggen, since the i90 was available up to a 5XL. Doesnt appear HJC is going to produce the larger sizes anymore. Bummer. I want a new i91, but no joy.
Is there a different in fit between the i91 and the RHPA? I recently bought a RPHA 11pro and I love it. Looking at a modular and really do not want to spend the $$$ on the Neotech 2. I had a much older RPHA modular, and it didn't quite fit right. That helmet was when HJC first introduced the RPHA line.
Thank you. I threw caution to the wind and got a rpha 90s. I ended up getting it brand new for less than the i91 and LS2 adv X. Patience and research time paid off.
What I'm trying to say is if shell size 1 is x-small thru large, and my head size is small, I am effectively wearing a large with fat cheek pads. This is why it's useful to know what the span of each shell size is
Seriously, i dont understand why people buy helmet like this? The flip chin side will resist wind while riding motorcycles. Just buy either fullface or 180-degree flip up modular helmet.
I didn't like any of the 180 degree flip modulars in this price range. I don't plan to ride with the chin flipped up. I want a modular so I can have brief conversations and drink water without taking my helmet off. It also makes it easier to don and remove.
The i100 180° flip bar has the integrated Bluetooth setup for the Sena 10b or 20b, and both are being discontinued. So the one 180° that HJC offers is basically obsolete. Although this i91 does not have the 180°, if I want a standard 3/4 helmet, I will throw on my HJC IS-33. The Modular aspect of this helmet is not to ride with it in the open position for extended periods of time.

Did you already use the helmet? How is the noise Level? Thanks!

The NZ/Australian version is like (or is) the European version. Stable visor and quick release ratchet strap.

After 2 hours of trying on helmets... this helmet fit the best for my big head.
That's great to hear! Thanks for watching!

Hi, I have the freecom cardo 4+, it fits well?
That comm unit works well on this helmet.
Same. I used double sided gorilla tape. Cut it into a couple of pieces to level out the ridges on my RPHA 31 plate. Worked perfectly. It's not coming off.
I was looking for a decent modular! This one hits all the nails on the head. Great review!

i appreciate the honesty in some of its drawbacks as i'm looking for a modular helmet. thanks

I buy one and it's has good quality good ventilation and its true to the size.Wind noise its ok for these type of helmets.
The i91 is a great choice.
Loose detent on shield would be a deal breaker for me - that's why I got rid of my Schuberth. My I90 has great detent functionality - I'll stick with that.
We definitely prefer the stronger detents as well. Thanks for watching!

Would be good to mention Kgs and not only lbs.
We've been trying to mention weight in grams for helmets recently.
Reached out to SpeedAddicts about sizing for those of us with a larger noggen, since the i90 was available up to a 5XL. Doesnt appear HJC is going to produce the larger sizes anymore. Bummer. I want a new i91, but no joy.
We wish HJC would have made those larger sizes.
thanks for the video, looks like i've got my new helmet
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!

The RPHA 91 has better shell, and is DOT, ECE 22.06, and P and J certified.
What is the difference between this one and the C91?
These helmets are pretty comparable. Though the i91 is compatible with the newer HJC Smart 21B and 50B units.
Could you tell me if the sizing is the same like in i90 or is it a bit different? Thanks!
Sizing is the same, since we found both helmets to run true to size.
what's the main difference/update between i91 and the i90?
They are pretty comparable, but the i91 is compatible with the 2nd gen HJC smart comm units.
Would you choose this i91 helmet or the LS2 Advant/Advant X?
i 91💪
The new I91 is great, but if you want the 180 option, then the Advant X is an excellent choice.
Thank you. I threw caution to the wind and got a rpha 90s. I ended up getting it brand new for less than the i91 and LS2 adv X. Patience and research time paid off.
can you fit cardo head set to these
Yes you can, but it needs to outside the integrated side.
bro why the strap of the helmet is classic and not modern !
Lots of manufacturers still use D rings.
What are the shell sizes man?
3 shell sizes
@@SpeedAddictsTV and they are?
What I'm trying to say is if shell size 1 is x-small thru large, and my head size is small, I am effectively wearing a large with fat cheek pads. This is why it's useful to know what the span of each shell size is

Some have to wear glasses and this makes it easier to put them on/off than a full face.
Do you think anyone is racing with their helmet flipped up? 😂

Because I wear glasses and it makes life a lot easier. It's a lot easier to pull over and have a drink. Wtf
