Board designer here -- yes, I fixed the 'rotary dial flashes the lamp' problem you noticed as a tweak the the firmware, and sent you a new chip that should solve that issue. One other trick you can do with the intercom: dialing "0" buzzes all extensions at once!
I'm pretty late to the party, that is pretty cool. As a kid growing up I was fascinated with key systems. Back then only the phone company could connect equipment to phone line. Amazing how modern electronics reduces space requirements.
I had a 1A2 key system in my home for a number of years. 2 CO lines, 2 intercom lines, and button # 5 was a public address line connected to the home’s built-in intercom system. That should tell you how many years ago go it was😂 Every room had a 5 line phone, even the bathrooms😂 I reversed the T&R wires on the kids phones so they couldn’t touch tone out on line one which was reserved for my wife and I. I also installed a relay on line 2, kid’s line, controlled by a timer that would open T&R at 9PM during school days.! Kid’s hated it. LOL. Really enjoyed this video👍
32 years as a key system / installer here in Seattle, sure wish I would have kept a few of those phones. 30 years ago we tossed em into the dumpster as fast as we replaced them with EKT's . By the way, there are old 1a2 systems in phone rooms all around the city, just hanging on the walls in the phone rooms , unplugged.
Oh yes, I know. One of my company's clients still had an entire array of neatly installed blue Valcom intercom units from the late 80s still installed. I tactically acquired those 🤣
We still use these phones (the touchtone version) at my office. They are placed all over the building so that we can answer anywhere we might happen to be in the building when someone pages us over the intercom to pick up a call. There is a phone closet full of wiring (which i know nothing about) that an old retired guy comes in to maintain every so often.
4:07 Did I correctly see, that the line lamp goes off for second when a phone is on a line and the CPC detection detects that this line has been cleared?
@@maxravnaas1719 There are too many potential answers to your question. I recommend doing some reading and learning on your own. Buy a CCM and figure it out. The best way to learn it.
I got one (UC500-32) on eBay for $30 with free shipping. I prefer my Asterisk setup with Chan-SCCP-B and SCCP Manager, though. It's more powerful, flexible and has so many more features.
I'm glad I just came across this video, because I've seen this new-age KSU before. How did you get it? I own an ITT 564, with the original amphenol cable and saw your previous video on getting a x64 series to work on plain POTS by bypassing the amphenol. I'd love to know how I could do that by going right to 66 block, because the 16 pair cable is still perfectly in tact and I think for me that would be a better path. (Or... find a way to get this type of KSU!)
Ordered directly from Greg Ercolano, the owner of Seriss Co. You need to run red and green from your phone line to white/blue and blue/white for line 1. You will not get ringing unless you also run jumpers to the slate/yellow yellow/late wires for the ringer. I would recommend just buying his KSU. Easier and cleaner, and it runs all the lamps and everything.
@@423tech So I followed your advice from the other video and tried to apply that to the 66 block, so hopefully I can try it out soon to my PBX's analog stations and verify that. Thanks for letting me know about the modern KSU. A bit nervous getting older older shoeboxes in the fear of the age and fire risks. Gawd even my Merlin 206 went up in smoke (but oddly enough it works...)
@@423tech The lines go off hook (confirmed on a few DSS buttons on digital set), but Line 1 doesn't ring and the handset isn't responding ether direction. I also think the dial isn't responding ether. Could it be the polarity, swap the wires around?

It looks that way. I have a newer software revision now and the lamps stay lit.

Where can I buy one of those boards for the phones
Interesting demo... how do you like the new 1A2 system?
Since the rotary lamp flash issue has been updated, this system has been installed in my new home. I've been really happy with it!
Hey! I am interested in ordering one. Could you possibly hook me up? Thanks!
You can contact Greg to order using erco(at)seriss(dot)com
Mention you want the latest KSU revision
