Same thing for the French Canadian one, Hubert Gagnon, who passed away 5 months ago. The new one is not bad but he will never be better than the legendary Gagnon. It’s been 27 years he voiced Homer and it feels weird to heard a different voice. 😢

Bart is accurate to me. Especially that scene with him kissing honey bunny.

Meh with Homer. I can _kiiiiinda sorta_ hear Homer's. Marge's is too high-pitched, but OG Marge's low pitch would probably inevitably sound like an old woman to the Japanese.
Everyone else's dub voice is spot on. 👌🏻

Fun fact: The voice actor for Homer in the Japanese dub is Toru Ohira, who was also the dubbing voice for Darth Vader in the 90s dub of Star Wars and the Japanese voice for Fred Flintstone. Sadly he passed away in April.
man i didn't know he died. he was fucking brilliant as homer, a 100% natural voice and great joke delivlery in a way you don't always see out of japanese voice actors. he fucking killed it with every line.
He also voiced several super sentai narrators, and Emperor Bacchus Wrath from Choriki Sentai Ohranger AKA King Mondo of Zeo

He was also Goa in the classic tokusatsu show Magma Taishi (Space Giants), the voice of Genie in Hakushon Daimaou (The Genie Family) and the japanese dub for Fred Flintstone and Darth Vader.

I'm honestly surprised by how spot on Lisa's voice is. Marge on the other hand sounds like your standard anime hot teen.

Also with Marge keep in mind that her actress Julie Kavner is able to provide the voice because of a medical condition to do with her throat so I'm not surprised that many actors portraying Marge aren't as good as the original

In general I like these voices, they're not far from the original ones. Maybe the pitch is a little bit higher but the result is quite amazing after all, not too weird to be the Japanese version of a western show. Greetings from Italy.

These voices are better than the ones they choose for the movie dub over there
that caused a huge upset for japanese simpsons fans, they were *supremely* pissed off about it given that the other actors had been with the show for nearly 20 years. there's a dvd edition of the simpsons movie in japan where they have the *proper* japanese voices but i'm yet to hear it myself
Homer is a little off, Lisa is actually good, Marge is way off, Bart will take some time to get used to.

I'm sad that the Simpsons have the Japanese dub only for the first 15 seasons and they stopped doing it in later seasons. But I'll admit, Lisa, Marge, and Bart did sound different yet cute in that language. Also, it makes it sound like Lisa can make a great Chibiusa from Sailor Moon.

Man I miss back when there were full episodes up on Nico Video, it was really fun to watch these classic episodes in a new language. I thought the translation & performances were generally top-notch, too, second only to the astonishingly good Japanese dub of Bojack Horseman.

Having grown up watching English Simpsons I have to say the Japanese dub is great, Japan has a habit of making really good dubs of foreign shows

+Phil Gole-Mohammadi the movie having different dub actors isn't a super well known fact outside of japan - but it was bullshit. i really want to hear the dvd version that has the proper actors doing the dub. every line oohira delivers is fucking great

I was curious so I took a look at the comments, and it seems like I'm not the only one who felt Lisas' JP dub voice was pretty good. I remember the original jp voice actors here got replaced by celebrities when the simpsons movie hit Japan. The jp simpsons community was not too happy about that.
