- Amtrak train action at Bowie State MARC Station on December 25, 1997. Here are the trains:
Amtrak Train #20 (led by P40s 806?? and 830)
Amtrak Train #208 (led by AEM-7 916)
Amtrak Train #86 (led by AEM-7 941)
Amtrak Train #205 (led by AEM-7 909)
Amtrak Mail Train #13 (led by AEM-7 905)
Amtrak Train #174 (led by AEM-7 907)
Between Trains 205 and 13, took a video of a cardinal.
This is amazing footage! Thank you so much for sharing the pre-Acela days from your lens with us! Have a fantastic day!
Everyone else is enjoying their Christmas dinners and you are out here fanning trains at Bowie State
There are huge connections between Christmas and trains. Ever seen The Polar Express or read the book? Why are you judging? Maybe he opened his presents and spent time with his family earlier in the day or did later. Curb your trolling.
Isn't that sweet railfanning especially bird watching how lovey isn't it
I'd bet that at any one of the moments in this video somebody somewhere was unwrapping a Nintendo 64
The first train was the crescent only if it had 2 f40phs instead.
Indeed they were!
^ I got mine the next year I believe! I was 9, and I got it with Super Mario 64 as my first game.
@@rominn2184 I have great appreciation for those games!
Phase IV AEM7’s looked cool
Beautiful. So was the diesel locomotive changed in Philadelphia for the Crescent? I am sure in the late 90's just like now, diesels were not permitted in NY Penn. Though I must say, I have never understand why diesels that pull the Empire Service trains and the Lake Shore Limited are allowed into NY Penn and not diesels pulling trains on the Northeast Corridor.
I will always miss the diversity of older and newer Amtrak rolling stock. Those classic old timeless Heritage railcars, the Amtrak mail cars - that celebrated NEEDED marriage/institution of our national rail and postal service.
Yes, at that time the locomotive changes happened in Philadelphia.
@@chaohwac ^ Yes, that's what I would have thought. I wonder why they changed it to DC.
The diesels that operate into NYP are dual-mode P32s that are capable of running on third rail power when it's available. Locomotive changes in Washington are more convenient since the electric locomotives are far more capable of hitting the 125 mph max speed on the NEC and also save on diesel fuel.
Any more NYC subway videos or just Amtrak
Subway videos are very short and fragmented. The railfan window videos are very shaky. I am still considering.
Just started to review Amtrak videos
