Cana is certainly powerful, but I think she is someone who doesn't enjoy fighting, doesn't have the passion for it. So she never trains. I guess in terms of character development also Cana is lacking, but anyone not on team natsu, is pretty much a side character.

The problem is that the three fairy spells are super condtional. They aren't indiscriminate brute force liek Natsu's magic. They completely obiterate enemies, as long as both the wielder and the spell itself recognizes the target as a threat. Its why Laxxus couldn't use Fairy law on the Fairytail guild, He secretly didn't hate everyone as much as he thought. It just to happens that whenever times are desperate enough to call on one of the fairy spells, its usually against someone the magic has blessed with immunity. Like Mavis's kid for example.
Because Mashima sensei is focusing like almost only on the MCs and supporting characters like Strauss siblings, Cana, Jellal etc don't get much attention. But Unlike Cana, Jellal has Erza and Strauss siblings are famous for their magic. Cana literally had one arc for her main development. Makes me sad. So much potential, I still wanna see how her mother looked like
This is IMO a perfect example how the ultimate magic SHOULDN'T be used. If it's ultimate magic, it's ULTIMATE magic. You don't downplay it. You don't build an antagonist by him being able to tank it. You don't make it useless. And you certainly don't invent MORE ULTIMATE magic to make up for the one you've just destroyed. It's normal to make powerful spell weak later on. But then you don't call them ultimate magic. And if for some reason you want the ultimate magic to fail - you HAVE to explain why exactly the spell failed. And no, it cannot be something like "he's just that freaking powerful". It's not ULTIMATE magic if there's anything stronger than said magic.
That's what failed the show the most to me. It was a nice and enjoyable show except their battle and how they misused some powers over "plot armor" could've been one of the big anime if written better At least treat fairy law/fairy glitter the way kungfu panda treat the skadoosh finger

I’d love to see more Cana fights she’s one of my favorite characters along with Juvia, Gajeel, Laxus, Mirajane, Minerva, Brandish, Kagura, Ultear, and Gildarts.
This would have been such a good end for August, defeated by the will of the Guild, and the love shared between a parent/child - but the moment is stepped quite literally immediately after it happens
Her voice, the OST, all sounded so good, i wish it would have at least harmed August a bit, but unfortunately this moment was basically wasted. (Though i wouldn't doubt it would work if someone from Natsu Team used it since that's how Fairy Tail works 🙄).
Its a super move whos main power is to work once then never again t show how awesome the villain is. Like the Dragonball's Spirit Bomb. That thing like, half worked against vegeta (Took him out of the fight, but he still got away) then fizzled against pretty much everybody he used it against until Kid Buu, which I think was just Toriyama going 'Okay screw it, I'm not going any further with this, time to let the spirit bomb work'
It didn't damage him because August's power consists in copying the nature of the enemy's magic and repel it so that there is no affect on him. That's why fairy glitter just canceled on him

It's unfair. We know from the mpf that Fairy Glitter is way stronger than anything that Jura can use. Like in a completely different league. Yet she is litterally always in battles against foes who are way stronger than that so that even Fairy Glitter does nearly nothing against them.
When you try to use the same attack that failed against someone Natsu clapped in one shot, against someone who’s literally called “the wizard king” because of his wide knowledge of magic. The build-up + OST was nice though. Can’t wait for the 100 year quest to get animated 🤧
I never liked these long loading spells, WHY would the enemy just stand there? it would be one thing if they tried killing her while it booted up but nope, because idiocy?

See, August's Copy Magic allows him to copy, master and nullify any type of Caster Magic he encounters. Fairy Glitter is classified as Caster Magic. However, here's the thing, just because August copies magic, doesn't mean he's immune to it. August cancels and nullifies his opponents magic by using that same magic against them. For example, remember during the beginning of the fight, when Gildarts appeared behind August and landed a hit on August with his Crush Magic? The magic did have an affect on August and split him up, August was just able to reassemble himself because he had instantly copied Gildarts' magic. Basically, in summation, in the Fairy Tail Universe there are different ways of nullifying an opponents magic. Like, Byro Cracy uses Nullification Magic to render his opponents' magic useless, whereas August simple uses his opponents' magic against them
Idiot, there's 2 ways why enemies don't attack. First if it doesn't work on them why waste energy attacking the caster.. It also adds drama by way of mocking your opponent when there strongest powers don't affect you. Secondly enemies don't attack because they felt the strong magic power coming from the caster and she's protected by by a giant magic aura why would you attack something you know you can't stand. And long dialogues are part of the cinematography. Of any kind of anime, movies or TV show. You idiot otherwise it wouldn't be entertaining. Even kame hame ha is longer to cast o I forgot. Instead we get a scene that have been done to death, lost its meaning and dont add anything. I do understand what I am seeing, and I enjoy movies, I enjoy anime and I love books. the anime had wayyyy too moments like this throughout the entirety of its series. this anime died for me after the fairy island arc. When they decided to start a whole new arc straight after, This anime became so predictable and couldnt rise any tension for the life of itself im amazed how it got any more seasons.

the anime had wayyyy too moments like this throughout the entirety of its series. this anime died for me after the fairy island arc. When they decided to start a whole new arc straight after, This anime became so predictable and couldnt rise any tension for the life of itself im amazed how it got any more seasons.
