It helps (to me at least) that the "wings" aren't actually wings, they're radiator fins to help vent excess heat especially during atmospheric combat. As I'm sure many others have already stated it was designed by former Zeonic MS engineers, hence the mono-eye.
Just built mine yesterday. Great kit. Fits in beautifully with my master grades. What a lovely color. Nice surface details and a splendid sculpt. I was very happy that I finally found a use for the extra sprue in my MG Hyaku Shiki with the extra clip of ammo to put in the bazooka.
Been building this one today, it's a great kit if you're a fan of the design. I like how there's a lot of functional parts of the design like the cockpit door poking out, the pipes and the fins for heat dissipation - Still have to figure out what all the bits on the legs for. Hopefully they reprint this and some other re100 kits down the line so it'll be more available - I was very lucky to get mine for a steal
I've got to say, after having built the HGUC Dijeh, which is absolutely fantastic, I am beginning to lust after this kit and I think I'll buy it soon, as it has been restocked at a lot of retailers. I just want a bigger one. I was not a fan of this suit in the anime, but the silhouette sitting in my case sings to me amidst all the regular bois. The color and fins especially stand out. Can't underestimate the color. Also, it wasn't a Federation suit, it was literally an AEUG allied Karaba suit that was used in an assault against a Federation/Titans base, lol. Notably, it barely has any screen time in the anime.
I think someone may have already said this, but the bump on the side of the head is the cockpit hatch. I was also disappointed that the Dijeh wasn't as robust as the artwork. Still, your review convinced me to finally pick this kit up. I would really like to see one done up in Gundam colors. I don't really want to do that myself since I suck at painting though. I think the RE/100 are a mixed bag. I have been very disappointed by the stability of the Hamma Hamma, but very pleased with the Efreet Custom. I hope this kit leans more toward the Efreet Custom.
"Used by the Federation" might not be the best way to describe this. Mostly because the zeta era is dominated by factional conflicts and backstabbing, so having a single umbrella like "Federation" is a stretch. General gist- The Titans are representative of the corrupt, increasingly authoritarian side of the federation. Amuro Ray was part of the faction opposing the Titans, so I'd imagine he had to do a "Go with what you can get" mentality rather than going with traditional federation style designs coming from the core of the federation's power. Instead, he used... less reputable, but easily bought off sources. And those sources are the kind that happily snatched up Zeonic engineers after the war. Which is why this shares design elements with AEUG suits- the company was REALLY easily bought off. I will note that Amuro Ray was directly involved with the design of the Dijeh. The weapon rack on the left arm is from his lessons with the RX-78-2: Get more firepower, or you will spend half of the episode struggling because B-tier villains like the Gyan pilot can just count the number of shots you have left. He wanted to make sure that he had the option to go into a fight with a spare rocket launcher 'just in case'.
I like my Dijeh which some says I'm one of the few who bought it. I like it for being my first RE line. One of the different about this kit from the art is how green its green armors. I also bought it because I want to have 1/100 amuro suits which this one, RX-78-2 ver.3, and Nu ver. Ka (which I both also have) that appear to a series or OVA, I'm planning to complete it but that Z karaba is something very expensive for me . . .
if I see it at my Hobby Town USA, I'm going to get it! lots of potential! I for one, love the wings ! I might go get 2 to paint one in a moth-like camo to match the wings!
near the end of zeta when Char and Kamille attack Killimanjaro before the Dakar speech. I belive the episode is Storm over Kilimanjaro, or forever four.
Dijeh is weird not because it's a mono eye used by the feds but because it's a gelgoog with Japanese feudal army flag on its back or it's supposed to be deep water fish fins? Or a butterfly I don't know the designer intention is not really clear.
GigawingsVideo It’s not used by the Federation. It’s an AEUG suit made from both Zeon and Federation technology. The wings are actually solar heat radiating fins or something like that..
The wing binders do not bother me, but I think that having fuel tanks like the Gelgoog (J) Jaeger would have been more interesting. Even imaging it without the binders, it looks really good without them.
Advait Rele I used to, but I decided not to do it anymore. If you want to know the height of the kit you can check the wiki page to get the height of the mobile suit, then convert that to 1/144 or 1/100. Or use the RX-78-2 Gundam as a standard. It's 18m tall, so if you want a kit of a mobile suit that's 15m tall, you can assume the kit will be smaller than an RX-78-2. Does that make sense? My reviews are long enough, I wanted to cut some less interesting parts where I could.
It is an AEUG ms not federation and that is why there is a very zeonic look also because by that time, zeionic and zimat were both owned by Anaheim electronics resulting in things such as the marassi , hizack, this and more zeon looking ms produced by Anaheim
KFJ These days I'm snapping too many kits, and not enough display space, so no I'm not displaying most of them. But since you asked, I'll post some photos on my Facebook page!
+zorh136 There has been no confirmation that the Kshatriya is in development at this time. All we know is that it's on a short list of possibilities that Bandai is considering.
The only two RE1/100 I even consider buying are this one and the GP04 gerbera. But for a RE1/100 I do think that this guy could have had some more panel lines.
how long was the build time for this? I haven't done any of the RE line yet, but I am looking forward to getting the gp04 soon. Personally I would like to see, the efreet, gabaldy, and the gundam mk V, next. Also anything form AoZ in 1/100 is always welcome
fuzzyhawk down I think the Gundam Mk-V is a really good possibility for the line. And I hope they make it! The build time is something similar to a larger HG.
A double-bladed weapon doesn't make sense to you? That in itself doesn't make sense. You have seen people demonstrate how such a weapon is used in real-life, right? You said you don't know how someone could use one and maneuver it without hitting yourself, I assure you it is not only possible but plenty of people do it. Look up some Shaolin monks or Wushu demonstrations. That beam naginata weapon is completely feasible.
It helps (to me at least) that the "wings" aren't actually wings, they're radiator fins to help vent excess heat especially during atmospheric combat. As I'm sure many others have already stated it was designed by former Zeonic MS engineers, hence the mono-eye.
Flamezombie Probably was also designed by the same engineers who made the Gelgoog.
the wings are ambac systems to assist with movement and stability when in space, similar to the Hyaku Shiki's wing binders

It's Dijeh Khaled
Back as a kid used to have a SD guide with all suits from ONY to Char's Counter Attack, Dijeh was drawn as a butterfly drinking from flower :)
The dijeh was based of the rick dias & most of the engineers were former zeon engineers
I'm getting some serious Gigan vibes from those back fins.
2ndSndWve Yeah!
Also resembles Dijeh's head if you remove the mandibles

the legs are such a cool design
Id love to see a RE Big ZAM, Penelope and Gundam F 90 and with any luck hopefully the Crossbone Vanguard suits. But I can only hope.
Nice kit thanks for review.
Can't wait to get this guy :) Zeta had some of my fave designs, and even though the dijeh was only in one episode the design always appealed to me.

didn't you get an extra set of rockets with the Hyaku-Shiki? you could use those on the Dijeh's bazooka.
Jango The Blue Fox Ah ha! Very excellent point! Thanks for sharing that idea!
ZakuAurelius
you're very welcome. it really does seem like these two kits were always intended to go together doesn't it?
I like my Dijeh which some says I'm one of the few who bought it. I like it for being my first RE line. One of the different about this kit from the art is how green its green armors. Funny how in Z char pilots a gundam-esque MS and amuro pilots a zaku-esque MS
Threader Pierceval Zeta is a wild series
The red on the chest isnt the cockpit, its a head type cockpit
I like all the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam gunpla's.
Djeri c twoopi boy kontinye travay baz pam
Really intrigued by this one, what episode does it first appear in?
near the end of zeta when Char and Kamille attack Killimanjaro before the Dakar speech. I belive the episode is Storm over Kilimanjaro, or forever four.
The Dijeh isn’t a Federation suit. It an AEUG MS made with Zeon and EFF tech.
The RE line details and articulation seem pretty close to those of the older master grades.
It's like a water type evolution of a gelgoog.
The Dijeh always reminded me of a mixture of a Galbaldy and a Gelgoog
Hi Iam coming to Tokyo this Friday. I just wanna know where can I get the cheapest gundam in Tokyo?
Yodobashi Akihabara or Mandarake (also in Akihabara)
The wing binders do not bother me, but I think that having fuel tanks like the Gelgoog (J) Jaeger would have been more interesting. Even imaging it without the binders, it looks really good without them.
Great review, do the sheet decals we're already claimed?
Already claimed! Sorry~
Hey! It would be nice if you had some size comparisons with other kits in these reviews.
Advait Rele I used to, but I decided not to do it anymore. This actually seems like a pretty nice kit! But I was wondering, do you also display your review models? Any chance of a new display video?
KFJ These days I'm snapping too many kits, and not enough display space, so no I'm not displaying most of them. But since you asked, I'll post some photos on my Facebook page!
👍👍Thank you for your share
im pretty sure its developed from the galbaldy beta
nice review, thank you~!
Did you notice that there is a Gundam face right behind the monoeye?
don't think I did. or i don't remember.
Regarding the next RE, I'd love to see a Silhouette Gundam.
+Theibault the next one is Efreet Custom, followed by Kshatriya
+zorh136 There has been no confirmation that the Kshatriya is in development at this time. All we know is that it's on a short list of possibilities that Bandai is considering.
well, all we know about Kshatriya right now is that they're developing the prototype
+zorh136 There has been no proof or official confirmation from Bandai that they are working on a prototype.
This mobile suit is one of the most rushed in terms of development in the story. It's actually based on 3 mobile suits. Rick Dias, Nemo, & Gelgoog.
The only two RE1/100 I even consider buying are this one and the GP04 gerbera. But for a RE1/100 I do think that this guy could have had some more panel lines.
to me it looks like and upgraded gel GOOG
Anonymous Li And Amuro pilots it while Char gets the Gundam.
how long was the build time for this? I haven't done any of the RE line yet, but I am looking forward to getting the gp04 soon.

I like zakuarelius gundam
RE Neo Zeong??? lol Let me build another room to display it.

It looks a bit like a water type
I love how doofy this thing looks :D
the next RE 100 will be Efreet custom
Yes... Thanks for that info
I think its going to be the Gundam MkV
I hope so!
can I have them
Already claimed! Sorry~
Its sad daban only release the MK3 from this lane.
They look like butterfly wings 😂😂😂😂
simply a Rick Dias for a MerMan
The wings were so bad on that gunpla b
I have a cool idea how I'm going to customize mine! And it involves getting rid of the wings! Lol
ZakuAurelius make some out of resin like the dragon gundam's wings.
